Just Like My Mother's "Angel Dust"

After unknowingly ordering the same beloved powder my mother had used on me when I was a child, I welcomed this Sweet Honeysuckle Honey Dust back into my life with open arms! It still has the same soothing scent as it did fifteen years ago, with the same type of feather applicator that can release the fine powder any and everywhere you desire.

Use

Kama Sutra's Sweet Honey Dust is designed for external use on the body. On the box, it states that it is dermatologist tested and hypoallergenic. Due to its edible nature, this powder is safe to use around anyone of any age who is not allergic to any of the ingredients (the main ones being modified corn starch, honey and glucose). Plus, if it gets inhaled, one usually does not have to worry about sickness as a result of it.
This powder is very good when it comes to foreplay. The enticing honeysuckle scent is not geared towards only one gender, making it useful in any partner situation. In addition to dusting the powder onto the body, the small feather applicator can be used for tickling or other sensory play.
Be careful to not get the powder near the genitalia though, because the corn starch, honey and other ingredients could cause an infection.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

Corn starch is the main ingredient of this powder, which explains why it feels smooth and starchy to the touch if one sticks a finger in it. The powder is very fine and spreads very quickly once it is released into the air. Using the small feather duster provided, it is easy to dust the powder onto ones body in a thin, fragrant layer as opposed to others that need to be caked on.

Taste / Aroma

Honeysuckle is a sweet floral scent that is often associated with the southern United States. While many honeysuckle products (and other floral-scented products in general) are targeted towards women, the scent itself can be appealing and mood-enhancing to anyone regardless of one's gender.
This powder is edible, since the main ingredients are corn starch and honey. However, the taste is almost sickeningly sweet and the starchiness feels weird on the tongue. Those averse to sweetness might want to keep a glass of water on the nightstand!

Performance

Because the powder is so fine, it has the tendency to spread dust anywhere within about a one foot radius of the duster. This means it could get on different types of cloth and then refuse to come off with a simple brushing-off. Also, it can get inhaled unintentionally, and while the ingredients are safe for consumption, it could cause a respiratory reaction.
This powder washes off the body easily with plain water and it could potentially be licked off with just as little effort. If one decides to lick it off, it does not leave behind a sticky residue like other edible powders might. After using it every night for a week straight, there has not been a noticeable decrease in the amount left, meaning that it could potentially last a person several months.

Packaging

The powder is contained in a plastic baggie sealed with a twist-tie. The baggie, in turn, is contained in a small drawstring bag made of black satin, which does not completely close at the top. The feather duster is placed in the bag alongside the powder, initially feathers-up, and poking out of the bag. All of this arrives in a see-through box that has the product and ingredient information on it. The powder should not be transferred from the baggie into the drawstring bag because whatever powder does not spill everywhere could seep through the satin material or else through the above-mentioned opening in the bag.
    • Leaky container
    • Would make a nice gift

Personal comments

I had ordered the honeysuckle scent because it is a scent that I associate with my early childhood. I remembered my mother owning a powder similar to this one that she would dust me with whenever I had trouble falling asleep. She called it "angel dust" and told me that it attracted angels who would watch over me while I slept.
When I opened the box for this powder, I felt like I was seven years old again. The scent is just as sweet and relaxing as I remember. I allowed my mother to smell it and, once I mentioned the brand Kama Sutra, she said it was the exact same powder she had used for me about fifteen years ago!
I bring this up because I wish to point out that this powder is safe to use on or around children. You might not want to tell them it's edible though, or they could get the wrong idea!

Follow-up commentary
Two months later, after fairly regular use, my supply of honey dust barely has a dent and it still works like a charm. The smell has not lost its appeal and I've even grown a bit accustomed to the sweetness of its taste. My one and only criticism is that it can get everywhere because of its fineness, so a twist-tie for the plastic baggie is a must when traveling.
