Lavender Jasmine--wet or dry shaving cream.

Lavender jasmine scent...sounds very luscious, but is in fact a bit misleading for this shaving cream. I noticed a berry aroma mixed with a floral scent that permeated the bathroom while I was using this product. It did not give me a headache, however those who are sensitive to smells might want to think about this one. It worked nicely, but no better than, most shaving creams and left my legs a little bit moisturized. A great drugstore shaving cream, but not a luxury product.

EOS, short for evolution of smooth, makes this ultra moisturizing, paraben-free shaving cream with natural aloe and shea butter extracts. This cream does not foam up, but acts more like a conditioner and smooths onto your legs or other areas to prepare you for a close shave.

At a full 7 ounces, the bottle is reasonable sized and has a pump top for dispensing. Just two pumps will give you enough for half a leg, you will need a couple more pumps than they recommend. The bottle is a soft, velvety plastic and has rounded indentations for your fingers, this does help eliminate slipping while trying to shave in the shower. You can grab this with wet hands and not have it careening to the other side of the shower.

The lavender jasmine scent is a little off, while it does have a floral/fruity scent, I would have said it was more of a jasmine and berry aroma. This scent does not linger on your skin for more than a half hour after you wash the cream off. The aroma is light but permeating while you are in the shower.

The shaving cream is a thick, white cream, reminiscent of hair conditioner and it does stay nicely in place until you shave it off. It was creamy but left an oily film that did come off after being washed with soap and water. My skin was soft, but seemed no softer than with other shaving creams or foams. There was a bit of residue on my razor that needed extra cleaning prior to the next swipe.

I did not get any bumps on my legs like I do with soap and water, so this worked really well for that issue. I would be comfortable traveling with this in an overnight case, there is nothing on it that has a sexual reference. It is too large for taking on a plane, however.

Just for curiosity, I used this as a hair conditioner, it has many of the same ingredients, and it worked as good as the local store brands. I have very fine, tangly hair and was not as happy as when using my regular conditioner. It is nice to know it will do in a pinch, though.

I am not trying this for shaving dry, even though it is advertised as a dry or wet shaving cream. I hat those red bumps and am too scared of getting them. While the performance was satisfactory wet shaving, it was not high enough for me to trust it dry. I am just not as impressed with the EOS products as I am with the Coochy or Simply Sensual. It is a good product, but there is nothing that really stands out and makes it a great product. My husband grabbed a whole line of EOS products for my Easter basket, so I will keep you updated and will review the rest of the products as well. I do have to say, after asking him what he paid, they were significantly cheaper at Walgreens.

Follow-up commentary
I am not having the greatest of success with this brand of products. I am sure many of you will like this shaving cream, however I have had better results with the other brands sold here on EF.

Thank you for sharing. I finally ordered the coochy shave cream and I really do love it. That's nice that your husband was thoughtful enough to make you an Easter basket. I had to google WG's price and you're correct that's significantly lower even with a discount.
