Less than YummyThis candle is a nice step for people just starting out with any sort of candle play. While the oil isn't intense enough for people with intricate hot wax knowledge to get a kick out of it, it could be a nice, sensual starter for beginners.
Great for temperature play, nice feel.
Not so pleasant taste, stains cotton.
The 'Choc Your Socks Off!' massage candle is exactly what it sounds like. A small (very small) candle that melts into massage oil. While the product seemed very high quality, there were some aspects of it (size, scent) that I found less than pleasing. People with allergies to fragrance or who don't like the feel of oil need to avoid this product. It's very nice for foreplay (massages, temperature play), but the size of it limits it to one use (or two if you're very sparing).
The texture of the candle, when unlit, is very soft. When lit, the wax quickly melts into a very smooth, warm massage oil. The oil is definitely slick, and fairly watery. It stays in place fairly well if you're pouring onto a larger surface (back, stomach, thighs, etc.), but I'd definitely suggest using it on sheets that you don't mind possibly staining.
I did not taste the product, but, as aforementioned, I was not a big fan of the smell. I got the chili-chocolate and was not at all pleased with how it smelled. It was overly saccharin and the chili was too "harsh." Overall, the smell was too chemical for my tastes.
The product performed fairly well. It lasted a few hours (the oil absorbs into the skin quickly and leaves a slightly soft, yet greasy feeling), but I showered after around two hours and it came right off. I liked the ability for temperature play the best in this product. This seems like a "stepping stone" between lotion and more "intense" wax play, and might serve as a good introduction in that arena. Be careful what fabrics you let this come into contact with: it left a stain on my cotton sheets.
Follow-up commentary 4 months after original review
After breaking out this candle one more time, I still wasn't a fan. I was hoping my outlook would change, because I really wanted to like this candle, seeing as I'm getting more into temperature/wax play, but it's still not my favorite.
