LOVE this stuff!

Guess what I've been carrying around in my purse since the day I got it in the mail? If you said this stuff, you're right. It's perfect for the girl (or guy, no judgment here) on the go who likes to freshen up, but the scent lasts so long that you may not have to in the first place. The lovely packaging and subtle smell all bump this up to the top of my 'favorite beauty products' list.

Use

This cute little perfume is intended to be used externally only. You're supposed to run it over clean, dry skin in order to make you smell pleasant. It's the same as most perfumes where you are supposed to place it around your body in ways that will waft around you pleasantly.

You should not use this on your genitals or as a lubricant. There are a ton of nice smelling lubes out there, but the ingredients and consistency would make this a terrible choice. If you're worried about your genitalia smelling, there are also much better choices than this perfume product.

This also isn't good to use on clothing or on your bedclothes. While some people may frown at this, I am happy to inform you that Dona makes a linen spray that it INTENDED to be sprayed on your clothing and sheets. If you are hard pressed for this product to go on your various fabric possessions, you can always roll a bit onto a dryer sheet and toss it in with your laundry.

Because of the ingredients and the applicator, this also isn't a good product to add to your bath water. I personally like the concept of having nice smelling bath water but guys, guess what. Dona has you covered! Dona actually makes several different products to put into your bath water, so you can save this for your skin.

The nice thing about these scents is that none of them are too feminine, and the packaging isn't pink with roses all over it. Men could totally keep this in their gym bag to freshen up, and the scent won't make people ask why they're wearing womens perfume.

Especially the Camu Camu scent that I got would be good to wear just about anywhere. I carry this with me to class in case I want to smell pretty, and it's great to wear in more formal settings, as well. It's not super playful, but if you're not looking for something bubbly it would be nice for a girls night out.

The ingredients are as follows:

Purified Water, Ethyl Alcohol, Ammonium Acryloyldimethyltaurate/VP Copolymer, PPG-26 Buteth-26, Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Androstenone, Estratertaenol, Androsterone 3-Beta, Androstadienone, Copulins, Fragrance.

None of these are super common allergens, but before using any beauty product you should always test a small patch of skin before getting to excited and using this all over. Quite a few of the ingredients are considered to be aphrodisiacs, which I think helps the credentials of the line.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

This product is a gel sold as a perfume gel, and I feel like that's a fair description of it. When you roll it onto your skin, the product does stay a bit 'gloopy' until it dries if you keep rolling it in the same area of your skin. If you roll a light layer over your skin it's just as thin as a regular perfume.

When you first roll this stuff on it is fairly shiny and you can easily wipe it off. If you want to you can also spread it around a bit or rub it against other areas of your body (like rubbing your wrists together.) If you really don't want to get it on your clothes or anything you should be careful until it dries.

The gel itself is opaque white, but it rolls on entirely transparent. It doesn't stain your clothes if you happen to get it on there, and I haven't found that it leaves any greasy spots on fabric, either. At first it does leave your skin looking wet and a bit shiny, but after it dries it is matte and not noticeable.

Something that I really appreciate is that this product doesn't leave any kind of residue on my skin. It really bothers me when sprays and such do this because I like to run them through my hair a bit, and it's no fun when you have greasy hair. It's also not sticky at all, and if you run your fingers over the area you applied it to you can't tell any difference from before.

Taste / Aroma

I got this gel in the Camu Camu scent. Earlier I got the Camu Camu lotion, which is not the best lotion and takes forever to rub in, but my boyfriend LOVED the scent. When Eden started carrying it I knew that I had to get it, if only to make my guy happy.

I would like to point out at this point that these products are named for the aphrodisiacs that they contain and aren't named for the actual scent. Because of this, one batch that they ship out a few months from now may smell different than the batch that Eden is carrying right now. Even though there is some variation, the scents still seem to be similar to eachother.

Even though Camu Camu is a fruit, this scent is a very musky, woodsy vanilla. It's almost a tiny bit sweet in the undertones, but it's by far not floral. It's almost not feminine at all to the point where I can see it being a neutral-gendered product. If you're like me and floral scents give you a headache this is a wonderful choice to go with.

Performance

What I really like about this perfume gel is that the scent lasts a pretty long time. The other body products by Dona that I've tried (the lotion and the scrub) both have pretty 'wimpy' scents that fade before you even walk out the door. I am happy to report that this one has more longevity.

When I spread this lotion on in a very thin layer over my skin (usually my wrist or hand, it's the easiest to test) the scent is noticeable when I bring my hand close to my face after about an hour, but then it fades considerably. When I really glob it onto my skin I found that it was still going strong after about 3 hours.

The best way that I've found to use this gel is to run it through the hair at the base of my neck. My hair absorbs the gel well, and it holds in the scent better than my skin that is open to the elements and getting rubbed on all the time. The best part about this is that when I run my fingers through the back of my hair, a lovely waft of the scent escapes.

If you have to wash this off of your skin, soap and water work very well. Since the scent isn't overpowering in the first place you really can't smell it at all after you wash the area you applied it to. If you need to get it out of your hair, washing normally with shampoo is a good course of action.

Packaging

This gel comes in spectacular packaging. The tube that is comes in is made of thick glass, and the top and roller are made of hard plastic. This makes it very sturdy in your purse, but if you happen to drop it the glass can chip, crack, or splatter. You should use caution not to drop this onto a hard surface because of this.

You get a whole lot of gel in this, which is wonderful. I carry this in my bag to class with me and I use it when I smell all 'lab'y but am running to meet someone (most of the time my boyfriend). I don't have any chips or mars to the container after doing this for a few weeks, and I keep books, pens, and other sharp things in my purse and I've been known to just drop my bag on the floor when I take it off.

Another pro is that I have NEVER had this leak on me. This may be in part because of the awesome application method. In order to apply this, the gel coats a small plastic rolly-ball (technical term) that you then roll over your skin. This way it's easy not to get a huge glob of it unless you want to. It's also great because you don't have to spray mist and potentially get other people irritated because the air smells like perfume.

The label does say what this is and that it contains aphrodisiacs, but it's not lewd or flashy. There is a lace-y pattern on the label, which is a deep red-orange color. It lists the ingredients and a blurb about the product, but otherwise it's not super informative.

Special Features

As far as the attractant properties of this product go, I haven't noticed much more attention from strangers than usual. Part of it might be that it's not the strongest scent out there, but it also may not be the best pheromone to mix with my natural body chemistry. On the other hand, I need to note that my boyfriend LOVES this scent. I don't know if it's the pheromones kicking in or what, but he does find it an attractive perfume for me to wear.

Experience

When my first two Dona products didn't live up to the hype everyone seemed to boast about, I didn't have the highest expectations for this stuff. But seriously, this stuff wows me! I like the way it smells a lot (it's so subtle, which is something I don't usually go for) and the way my boyfriend reacts is just awesome.

My one warning about this product is that everyones own body chemistry will be different, and it may take a few tries before you find the pheromone in the Dona line that works best for you personally. I am tempted to get another gel to see how it measures up when it comes to pheromones, but this is so pleasant I feel like it would be tough for anything to beat it.

Overall, for the price, the nice scent, and how long the perfume lingers, this is totally a 5 star product. It's not going to give people headaches due to the strength, but it will just make you smell subtly nicer. I would highly recommend it.
