Luciously lickable

Edible, absorbs well into the skin and lasts a long time! All great quailties in a massage oil. The bummer about this massage oil is that it cannot be used as a lubricant because of the glycerin ingredient. This massage oil can cause problems with sensitive skin irritations or infections for those that are prone to them. Because of the "after affect", you will need to shower afterwards so that you do not become sticky or break out.

Use

Kama Sutra's Oil Of Love is an edible, water based massage oil. This massage oil comes in a thick, glass jar that comes with a cork stopper. If you're looking for a night of relaxing massages, you could be in luck! But be careful, this oil is good enough to eat and can lead your partner from massaging to licking to.......well you get the picture! Things can turn from relaxing to pretty intense in a hot second.

Kama Sutra's Oil of Love also has warming tendencies when applied, then lightly blown on. There is 3.4 ounces of this delicious oil and the glass jar can be reused if you can find another use for it!

Ingredients include: Glycerin, Propylene Glycol, Water (Aqua/Eau), Sucrose, Citric Acid, Sodium Saccharine, Flavor (Aroma), Yellow 6 (CI 15985), Red 40 (CI 16035), Blue 1(CI 42090)

Because this product contains glycerin, I would try to steer clear of using it on or inside the vagina. Otherwise, this could cause infections of the nasty kind! Especially so, for those of you that are prone to yeast infections or UTI's.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

The Kama Sutra's Oil of Love is rather thin and runny. More so than some of the other lubricants and massage oils that we own. At first, I was not too big of a fan of this, because of the fact that it ran down the side of my wife's back much too quickly, and it was hard to catch before it hit the blanket we were laying on. (This oil will stain! Make sure to use caution when using it!) When we started using the oil, I noticed right away that the thin, runny consistency was actually doing really well as far as absorbing into the skin but still allowing a good amount of glide for my hands to keep massaging. My wife doesn't like friction at all while she is being massaged, so usually I have to keep reapplying massage oil if it starts to absorb too quickly. It is somewhat greasy, but it doesn't make too much of a mess. It is not sticky until towards the end when you begin to run out of lubricant on the skin. It left my hands slightly tacky afterwards, but nothing that a body wipe couldn't handle. My wife did feel as though she had to shower afterwards to get it off, so its not one of those "Massage it and leave it be" oils. I would recommend that you wash it off afterwards just because it has glycerin in it and you don't want to break out from having it left on your skin. We left it sit on my back for about an hour, while I did her massage and then we both showered. About a day or two later, I had broken out all over my back with tiny dots and pimples. It wasn't pretty. Either way, we learned that next time we will at least get a wipe down before doing anything else until we can make it to the shower.

Taste / Aroma

We had purchased the Raspberry kiss flavor. It definitely tasted like raspberries but there was also a bitter aftertaste to it. It was not very pleasant that's for sure. We usually use the Shunga aphrodisiac oil, so maybe it was just because it was something different than our normal oil? The smell is really strong and really fills the air around you when you're giving a massage which is nice and relaxing for the massaged person, as well as the massager!

Performance

We used about a quarter size, maybe just a touch more than that, at first. That was enough to cover her entire back for a good 15 minutes or so. After that, I did have to reapply about the same amount again to finish up another 10 minutes or so. The product all together was a pretty good massage oil. The taste is good, until the aftertaste hits. The scent was very filling and it did tend to stay in the air a bit even after we finished up with the massages. The only thing that we dislike about the oil is the fact that it contains glycerin and that it can clog your pores easily and cause break outs or allergic type reactions. It would have been nice to been able to use this massage oil as a lubricant as well, so that we didn't have to worry so much about where the massage oil was going, but we didn't want to risk infections for my wife, so we cleaned up before anything else. We did have to take a shower after using it, making sure to scrub with soap and water to make sure it all came off.

Follow-up commentary
We have had this oil for roughly 1.5-2 months now and we have only used it a few times since we received it. Though, I still dislike the flavor of the oil, I have become pretty fond of the massaging properties of it. I would have to say that we'll keep it for massage, but won't be licking it off of each other any time soon! Maybe we need to try another flavor? I'm not quite sure. We might spring for another one, of a different flavor sometime in the future. Right now though, we have to use up the ones we have! Ha!
