Use

Blooming Belly Balm & Healing Salve from Sensuous Beauty is yet another great product that is packed with the oils and minerals our bodies scream for! It's key ingredients make it ideal for a mother-to-be, those seeking more elastic skin, or for soft skin. It can also be used as a healing salve on minor cuts and scrapes.

Contains: Organic Olive Oil, Wildcrafted St. John's Wort Infusion, Beeswax, Vitamin E, Cocoa Butter, Pure Ylang Ylang Essential Oil.

Warning: Do not apply to the skin directly before sun exposure. May cause burning. Always use a sun screen over this product if you are going to be in the sun.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

The balm is very thick and extremely close to the consistency of petroleum jelly. It has a greasy feel to it at first but once rubbed in leaves my skin feeling soft. The oil feel does fade as it is rubbed in. The balm rubs on very smoothly and is non gritty.

Taste / Aroma

The aroma is the cross between the smell of a beeswax candle and a sunflower in my perspective. It does not contain any sunflower oil however. Is isn't too overwhelming and fades tremendously when applied. The balm isn't perfumed, but rather naturally scented through oils and it does fade rather than leaving my skin scented.
    • Light smell
    • Smells good

Performance

Basically the ideal purpose of the balm is for expecting mothers to apply to skin areas that might need extra elasticity during pregnancy and for healing purposes for minor cuts. The balm has key ingredients like cocoa butter and vitamin E that are perfect for allowing the skin to stretch without leaving stretch marks. I am not currently pregnant and I cannot promise that this will work for you. However, from my experience anything with Vitamin E or Cocoa Butter applied to the skin during pregnancy prevents stretch marks by making skin more elastic. Blooming Belly Balm is perfect for this. Of course you can simply by cheaper lotion at the super market if you prefer, but Blooming Belly Balm is nicely packaged, has a great texture, and has all natural ingredients. Nothing artificial and no chemicals.

As for a healing salve or to soften skin, it works great! I have been applying it to my small cuts, belly, breasts, hips, bum, and also the soles of my feet for a couple weeks now and I can really see a difference. My skin feels softer, my cuts seem to be healing faster, and the most noticeable thing... my feet feel so soft! That in itself is reason enough for me to purchase this product again and again.
    • Absorbs into skin nicely

Packaging

The balm is nicely packaged into a small 3 fl oz glass jar. It is not related to adult novelties in any way and would be a great gift for anyone. The label has ingredients, directions, and manufacturer information. The jar is small, compact, and fits anywhere I want to store it.
    • Discreet looking packaging
    • Very informative packaging
    • Would make a nice gift

I'm writing a review on the Vulva balm right now. I still have mixed feelings about it. Sounds like this one is better though.

  • An odd question....
    • I have been looking at this for a while and wondering how well it works on scars.

      Has anyone tried this out?
    • I haven't tried it yet myself but I have read some reviews on it. If my general knowledge is correct (and it very well might not be), stretch marks are a kind of scar, and the reviews seem to indicate that it might fade existing ones some, but is more to prevent new ones from forming.
