Makes your lips silky like rose petals but it's expensive...
I really like this lip balm. It smells good and it moisturizes my lips leaving them feeling silkier and softer. I don't like the expensive price or the fact that it rubs off so easily. I like it a lot but if you don't like the feeling of an extremely slick and oily lip balm then you might not like this. I'm happy with what it's doing for my lips and I'd order it again! I really want to get the orange now.Published: July 6, 2011
Pros:
Rose scent, makes lips silky, natural ingredients, people tested
Cons:
Expensive, rubs off easily

I like to use this over my lipstick! You know how lipstick can make your lips dry out? I always use chapstick on my lips before applying lipstick but if you like the really wet/glossy look (like dark red cherry lips that are super glossy) this stuff is great! It comes off so easily and I have to apply it over and over. The rose scent is nice sometimes but only when I'm in the mood for it. I usually prefer sweet/candy type of scents when it comes to lipgloss. There's a lot of product in the pot and I've had it for a while now. I've only skimmed the top and there's still a lot left. I also like to use it when my lips feel really cracked and dry. It works wonders for that! My lips get really dry in the wintertime and fall is coming soon. I'll probably use it a lot more when the colder months roll in. I like it and I'd purchase it again!

Price

Why is it so expensive? It looks like it'd feel great on my lips, especially with rose, but I don't know..
-
Usually, any explanation of price falls into two categories:
1) The manufacturer put more money into the product (quality ingredients, extensive testing, etc.), and thus the price reflects that.
2) The price is high because people will pay it (brand recognition; think "Apple"), regardless of the real quality.
Take your pick. -
It's got lots of ingredients and many of them are expensive (coconut and almond oils, etc) plus it's a luxury item.

Thank you for viewing Kissing balm – edible treats review page!

I'm glad you liked the product. Would you buy it again?
I was looking at this, but 0.5 oz for $17.99 is kind of a lot of money. For some reason, I didn't look at the amount and thought it would come in a larger container.
Any idea how long it would last an average user?
Glad you liked it as much as I did.
Thanks for the review.
great review, thanks. this one is going on my wish list
Well... I bought this with a gift card that I won. Honestly if I had $17.99 I'd go to the store and buy a bunch of Lip Smackers instead but that's just me. But with points or a gift card I'd buy it again. This is more of a solidified coconut oil blend and not anything like any lipgloss I've had before. I've used it about 10 times or more and there's only a tiny bit missing. But you have to apply it often so I'm really not sure how long it would last. The jar, it's bigger than an eyeshadow pot and bigger than most lipgloss pots I've had before and it contains quite a lot of product because you only need a little bit.
I think a penny is about 1 gram right? It says it holds 14.2 grams of product.
I bought this a few months ago and absolutely love it! I got the rose as well.
It is expensive, but I was forking out a higher price for Lip Venom so this one worked out a lot cheaper for quite a bit more.
I'll definitely buy more when mine gets closer to running out.
Great review
I'm used to cheap stuff so this is the most expensive lip balm I ever had. =p
When it comes to lip balm, I skip the cheap stuff, but I too have not spent quite this much on lip gloss. I have spent $12.50 of the same tube over the years though (C.O. Bigelow brand). When you love something you should stick to it right? I have also paid about $25 for a small tube of Lip Injection year after year, but that DOES something more than just gloss your lips...I'm still undecided on the worth of this. But you are right...EFP and giftcardS? Seems worth it.
Great review, thank you for sharing this with us. I loved the picture you added to your review, although I often use the size charts on products but I love seeing the sizes in comparison to other items, such as with your photo!
I agree, quite expensive, and I'd more than likely do what you did and use gift cards! But, it seems like one of those perfect items to pamper myself with!
Soft lips always win. Thanks for the review!
