Makes your lips silky like rose petals but it's expensive...

I really like this lip balm. It smells good and it moisturizes my lips leaving them feeling silkier and softer. I don't like the expensive price or the fact that it rubs off so easily. I like it a lot but if you don't like the feeling of an extremely slick and oily lip balm then you might not like this. I'm happy with what it's doing for my lips and I'd order it again! I really want to get the orange now.

Use

Kissing Balm from Sensuous Beauty is a little luxury item you should definitely pick up as a splurge for yourself or as a gift for someone else. It's called kissing balm but I wouldn't necessarily kiss with it. It's oil based and rubs off easily. It's also pretty pricey!

If you massage this balm into your lips it will make your lips silky smooth like rose petals! It also makes your lips really shiny. I personally like to wear it over lipstick for that added moisture as lipsticks can dry your lips out. If you have dry chapped lips you need this! It will help a lot.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

The balm isn't as solid like most of the lip balms I've had before. It's very soft because it's oil based. You could easily scoop it all out with your finger. It's really light and silky. You need to be very careful with it in hot temperatures because it will turn into a liquid. Don't leave it in a hot car!

It feels oily and slick. If you use it sparingly it'll stay on your lips but if you're kissing, eating, drinking, or simply wearing way too much of it then it will wear off really fast.

Taste / Aroma

I got the Honey Rose scent. It definitely smells like roses! I can't smell it when I'm wearing it though. I don't smell a sweet honey scent because rose is pretty strong on it's own. I like it a lot! If you hate the scent of roses you should probably try the orange instead.

When I lick my lips I don't taste anything. It's very light.

Performance

The balm doesn't last very long if you lick your lips or kiss someone. If you're eating or drinking it'll definitely come off. It rubs off very easily. I like to use it when I get out of the shower, after I brush my teeth, or right before bedtime. Sometimes I like to apply it over lipstick.

I really love how silky it makes my lips. My lips get chapped easily and this has helped tremendously in only one use! It's a life saver for dry chapped lips but you have to apply it often. I don't really think of this as typical lip gloss, it's more of a lip treatment with a little bit of shine to it. I wish it lasted longer.

Packaging

The lip balm is in a small glass lip gloss pot with a black lid. It's about 1 1/2" wide and 1 1/4" tall. It contains .5 oz and that may seem like an extremely small amount but it really isn't. It only takes a little tiny bit to cover your lips so this lip balm will probably last for quite a while.

The sticker on top is vanilla colored and rose red and says, "Sensuous Beauty Kissing Balm."

There's a sticker on the side that lists ingredients: Sweet almond oil, honey, beeswax, shea butter, organic coconut oil, alkanet-infused organic jojoba oil, vegetable glycerine, vitamin E, and organic Bulgarian roso otto.

Truly Natural. People tested.
    • Easy to use / dispense
    • Very informative packaging
    • Would make a nice gift

Personal comments

I really love this product and I want to try the orange!

Honey Rose Lip Balm.

Experience

When I use this lip balm I dip the tip of my pinky finger into the balm and apply to my lips. I like to rub it into my lips in tiny circular motions. I noticed right away that my dry lips really soaked up the oil and felt a lot better! I also noticed the lingering rose scent and I really liked it. Overall, I'm really happy with this product. I think it's way too expensive though.
Follow-up commentary
I like to use this over my lipstick! You know how lipstick can make your lips dry out? I always use chapstick on my lips before applying lipstick but if you like the really wet/glossy look (like dark red cherry lips that are super glossy) this stuff is great! It comes off so easily and I have to apply it over and over. The rose scent is nice sometimes but only when I'm in the mood for it. I usually prefer sweet/candy type of scents when it comes to lipgloss. There's a lot of product in the pot and I've had it for a while now. I've only skimmed the top and there's still a lot left. I also like to use it when my lips feel really cracked and dry. It works wonders for that! My lips get really dry in the wintertime and fall is coming soon. I'll probably use it a lot more when the colder months roll in. I like it and I'd purchase it again!

I'm glad you liked the product. Would you buy it again?

I was looking at this, but 0.5 oz for $17.99 is kind of a lot of money. For some reason, I didn't look at the amount and thought it would come in a larger container.

Any idea how long it would last an average user?

great review, thanks. this one is going on my wish list

Well... I bought this with a gift card that I won. Honestly if I had $17.99 I'd go to the store and buy a bunch of Lip Smackers instead but that's just me. But with points or a gift card I'd buy it again. This is more of a solidified coconut oil blend and not anything like any lipgloss I've had before. I've used it about 10 times or more and there's only a tiny bit missing. But you have to apply it often so I'm really not sure how long it would last. The jar, it's bigger than an eyeshadow pot and bigger than most lipgloss pots I've had before and it contains quite a lot of product because you only need a little bit.

I think a penny is about 1 gram right? It says it holds 14.2 grams of product.

I bought this a few months ago and absolutely love it! I got the rose as well.
It is expensive, but I was forking out a higher price for Lip Venom so this one worked out a lot cheaper for quite a bit more.
I'll definitely buy more when mine gets closer to running out.

    Great review

I'm used to cheap stuff so this is the most expensive lip balm I ever had. =p

When it comes to lip balm, I skip the cheap stuff, but I too have not spent quite this much on lip gloss. I have spent $12.50 of the same tube over the years though (C.O. Bigelow brand). When you love something you should stick to it right? I have also paid about $25 for a small tube of Lip Injection year after year, but that DOES something more than just gloss your lips...I'm still undecided on the worth of this. But you are right...EFP and giftcardS? Seems worth it.

Great review, thank you for sharing this with us. I loved the picture you added to your review, although I often use the size charts on products but I love seeing the sizes in comparison to other items, such as with your photo!

I agree, quite expensive, and I'd more than likely do what you did and use gift cards! But, it seems like one of those perfect items to pamper myself with!
