Massage-y Lube? Lube-y Massage?

Jo Massage oil, while truly just a scented silicone lube, works quite well in all applications. It can be used as lube, massage oil, shaving lotion, hair serum, body oil, whatever works for you. It's slick and long lasting, holds up in water and cleans up easily with a bit of soap. A body safe, good smelling multi use product!

extremely useful review
JO massage oil is...

Well, it's lube, damn it. Lube that smells good and can be used for all sorts of stuff, for sure, but it's still just silicone lube.

The bottle (which is clear with orange accents and a click up lid) says:

*All in One
*Meet your new best friend
*Citrus Massage Glide
*Massage Glide
*Personal Lubricant
*Skin/Tattoo conditioner
*One bottle of JO Massage Glide equals 10 bottles of other massage oil

Directions read as if the only use is genital, however, and include how to use it with a condom.

Ingredients are various forms of silicone.

It's weird.

It's lube, marketed as a massage oil, all in wonder serum.

Fact of the matter is you can use any silicone lube for masssage and skin conditioning, as well as for shaving and as a hair serum. This stuff is really no different - they've just marketed it quite well.

That being said, most folks may not like it as a massage product or as a skin care product. Many people complain about the "oily" feel of silicone and about how difficult it is to remove. This is no different. It feels oily but not greasy, very, very slick and takes a long time to wear off and sink in for most people. (I'm weird and it sinks into my skin in about two minutes if I rub it in and leave it alone, yet stays slick long enough to have sex once my natural lubrication is added to it. Very weird. This, however, is why I LOVE silicone lubes) You'll need soap and water to remove this unless you don't mind the feel of it on your skin. It does leave the skin soft and smooth, petal soft and lovely to touch if you let it sink in but may feel heavy to those used to lighter potions.

It's great for in shower use, actually, because it doesn't wash away with just water. I like it for shaving, for shower sex and for use as a body oil after my shower. It can leave the tub slippery, though, so be careful.

The thing that makes it different than other silicone lubes on the market, which can be used the same way, is that it's scented. I got the citrus and it smells very softly orange, rather like an orange soda and not overly strong or headache educing. For me, this is a major plus. I LOVE flavored lubes not for their flavor most times but for the scent. Scent is a huge thing for me and effects my mood a lot so this one is really nice. Sort of invigorating and fun. It doesn't linger on the skin super long, I don't notice the aroma after about an hour, but it's quite pleasant while in use -- whether you're using it as a lube, lotion or massage oil.

For lube, it lasts as long as our sex or masturbation does. I've never had to reapply, even for anal sex, though those who like a thicker lube may not like this as it's very thin. As a massage aid, a nickel sized puddle will do an entire back, shoulders and buttock massage with a nice reduction in friction and a great glide but no greasy feel. Oily, yes, greasy, no. (There is a difference, I just suck at explaining it)

I think the only thing I would change about this is the cap. If it were a pump, I'd buy it in bulk. It is, however, a click top cap and, as such, tipping the bottle and squeezing lets out a nice sized dollop but also leaves the bottle a bit slick where it inevitably drips down the side somehow, even though you don't see it. Not a big deal, but the bottle can slip out of your hands and fly thru a window if you're not careful so be aware.

Don't use this with silicone toys unless you do a patch test first and make sure you clean your toys well with soap and water after use, regardless of material, since just water or a wipe won't cut it and you'll end up with toys that remain slick.

I highly recommend this for use with massage stones, glass dildos and ceramic toys as the smallest amount allows you to play for a long, long time!

ha! your title totally sums it up! I was doing a review for this last night. I think the tattoo thing is cool. I don't have any, but my boyfriend does.

Heh. I ignored the tattoo bit since all of mine are, at minimum, 20 years old and just don't need conditioning anymore.

I imagine it would work okay but I'd be a bit nervous with a brand new tattoo that it wasn't "breathing" thru the silicone.

Great review! I knew it could be used on hair and as a skin conditioner but it never occurred to me to use it as a tattoo conditioner....I'd be hesitant to use it on brand new ones but maybe after 2-3 weeks to keep it moisturized after the initial healing. I'll give it a shot when I get a new one and report back

This seriously works as shaving gel? Now I'm intrigued. I just got it for review and haven't tried it yet. Hmm. I also never knew you had to condition tattoos. So I obviously am not that "hip".

I hate it when my lube bottle does it's greased pig impression.

Thanks for the review. We don't use silicone lube as most of our toys are silicone. Too afraid I'll melt them. We also like really thick lubes, but I am intrigued.

Mistress, if you don't keep the tattoo moist and clean, it might scab over or dry out or even get infected. My Man never uses "product" of any kind, save shampoo or body wash. But, he has to carry around a little bottle of light moisturizer when he gets inked. I never thought of using silicone, though. He just uses Aveno.

Haha Mistress Kay, your comment is the cutest You only need to condition them when you first get them because the skin peels a bit as the tattoo-ing process can be a bit rough on the skin. Peeling skin after tattoo = not such a good looking tattoo in the long run.

Also, I am redundant because P'Gell just said that. D'oh.

Miss Kay,

It does, but it also will dull your razors kind of fast. I don't mind, since i use a new one every time I shave but those who use them a few times may have issues with dulled blades.

I love applying silicone lube on the skin too, and I had seen this product before and how they had added a scent to a silicone lube. Still cool though. Thanks for the review.
