Massage bottle - oil discontinued by Pipedream - review by Mamastoys

The Massage Bottle by Pipedreams is an all in one bottle, complete with its own massager on the back of the bottle. It is a generous amount- arriving in an 8 ounce bottle. EF description properties indicate that this is an oil based lotion. The ingredient list includes water, sweet almond oil, salflower seed oil, beeswax, paraffin wax, aloe vera extract, whole wheat protein, vitamin E, and several other ingredients. The ingredients are natural and unless someone has an atypical allergy, there should not be any reactions to this lotion. This lotion is not a lubricant and should not be used as such. It does not produce any lubrication. It is designed to be used as a massage lotion and works great for massages. There are three rows of nubs on the back side of the bottle. The outer two rows have five nubs and the middle row has four nubs. The nubs are firm and the amount of pressure applied, will determine how much the nubs are felt.

The lotion comes out of a flip top opening and is the consistency of a lotion. It rubs in easily and thoroughly with no residue. I put a dollop about the size of a nickel on my hand, and that was a sufficient amount to completely cover my hubby's back. After rubbing the lotion in, I took the bottle and used the massager to give him a good back rub. The lotion did not have to be reapplied. There was no tingling, no chilling, no warming, or numbing sensations associated with the lotion. There is no sticky or greasy feeling after being used.

I ordered the peaches and creams flavor and when I initially opened the bottle and removed the safety seal, the smell of peaches filled the room. It was not an overwhelming aroma but a soft, sensual smell. As I applied the lotion and rubbed it in, the sweet smell of peaches remained strong enough to smell but not a sicking stench. Although it is described as being edible, I did not attempt to eat the lotion, however, I did taste it for the purpose of this review. I could not really taste anything, but then I don't plan on using it as a edible lube. This lotion comes in four flavors- peaches & cream, sour apple, vanilla, and strawberry-kiwi.

For the purpose of massaging, this lotion is wonderful. A small amount of lotion covers a fairly large area and does not need reapplying. It does not leave any oily or tacky feeling, and does not require washing off after use. The lotion rubs into the skin and leaves no residue.

The packaging is the most unique characteristic of this massage lotion. The bottle itself is a pretty shade of purple (my favorite), and the back is covered in little nubs that can be used as a massager. The label is a metallic shade of a dark pink with white lettering. The only other label is the ingredient list which is on the bottom of the bottle, out of the way. The bottle holds a generous 8 ounces of lotion which lasts a long time. With the bottles curved shape, it is easy to hold and handle, even when you get the lotion on your hands.

The bottle itself is the special feature of this product. The massaging nubs makes a great massager. You don't have to go looking for a massaging oil then hunt for a massager, it is all together in this product.

I love to give my hubby back rubs but after having carpal tunnel surgery on both hands, my wrists and hands tire out pretty quickly. I found that with this bottle I can give him longer massages, and can fluctuate between soft subtle rubs to firmer harder massages.

After a day of working in the yard, my hubby and I were both tired and ready to relax. I took the bottle of lotion out and put a small amount of lotion on his back and rubbed it in. It rubbed in pretty quickly and then I took the bottle and began to massage his back with the nubs. He said it felt great. I changed up from really firm, hard massaging to gentle rubs and could feel his muscles respond to my touch. After completing his back rub, I got one in returned and loved how the lotion felt and smelled. The nubs rubbing on my back felt great. This is definitely a lotion that we will use over and over, and will probably try several of the other flavors.
