Mediocre Oil, but Great Massage!

As a gift, this massage oil was great and I enjoyed it! But for the price, I wouldn't buy again - you just don't get enough bang for your buck with this one.

Use

This is a sweet-almond scented massage oil.

Use it for massage. It's very light but very moisturizing and the scent is not invasive at all - I hate strong-scented anything and this did not make me want to retch. It works quite well - no bells and whistles, just you, your partner (or yourself!) and a great massage.

My bottle has no ingredients listed and to be honest I cannot find them anywhere on the internet - so proceed with caution if you have allergies to things such as nuts (it IS almond scented) or common oils.

I would absolutely not advise this for use as a sex lubricant. It is not intended for that purpose and will not work the way you want it to. Oil-based lube is bad for condoms, so don't use it for those, either. Just stick to massage with this.

I liked to use it on my legs after I got done shaving and stepped out of the bath, personally!

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

A light, thin, nice oil, perfect for giving a special someone a massage or treating yourself to one. It moisturizes very well and nicely sinks into the skin so you don't feel slippery, just moisturized, after your massage is done.
    • Smooth
    • Thin

Taste / Aroma

It has a light sweet almond scent, barely noticeable. This is not a heavily perfumed oil in any way. It doesn't have much of a taste outside of "It tastes... oily." as my partner quipped after licking my freshly massaged shoulder.

I love the almond smell - almond is one of my favorite smells in the world and the fact that it is not highly scented is a plus. Just a light lingering hint of almondy goodness. It's not even noticeable after it's soaked into the skin and dried a bit.
    • Light smell
    • No taste

Performance

As a massage oil, this works wonderfully. It's basically just a standard massage oil with an almond scent. It lasted long enough for a 30 minute massage and didn't leave me feeling drippingly oily or overly dry, so that seems about right.

It absorbs into the skin fairly well leaving you nicely silky, but should you choose to, you can shower - it'll come off easily with soap and water.
    • Absorbs into skin nicely
    • Allergy concerns

Packaging

This came in a bottle bearing the company logo and the indication that it was sweet-almond scented, and nothing else. I would have liked it better had it listed ingredients.
    • Discreet looking packaging
    • Easy to use / dispense

Personal comments

All in all this isn't a stellar product, but the scent is nice. However, there are TONS of almond massage oils out there that go for half the price and work just as well - you can pick one up at your local health store. I received this as a gift and thoroughly enjoyed it, but were I looking for another massage oil, I'd probably not buy it again - it's too expensive for what it is.
Follow-up commentary
I was recently in the position to give a massage to a friend, and she happened to have a bottle of this around. It is quite nice even just to give a non-erotic massage to a friend with a sore calf. I still think that for the price it is somewhat lacking, but it is good enough massage oil that while I probably will not buy it, if offered, I will happily use it.

  • Sensual Massage Oil- What the heck do they smell like?
    • Sensual Massage oil has a nice little selection of scents...
Here's the problem- There are 5 scents to choose from, but no way to know what each one smells like! There is no description of any kind! And most of the names (Pleasure Garden, Healing Blend, Serenity and soaring Spirit) give no hint as to what scents they include!
Does anyone know of a website/page that describes each scent option better than EF's product page?

You could read the reviews people have posted.. 23 reviews in total that offer a lot of insight into the product and what it smells like :)

Ah, you're right! I read the first 3 reviews that had been posted on this product, and was discouraged when they didn't describe all 5 scents. After reading your response, I decided to go through and read every review for this product, in search of descriptions.

      "~Purple- Healing Blend
"Rich blend of essential oils for soothing muscles and restoring harmony."
This scent is very relaxing and warm. This is a great scent for when you want to relax and unwind. It has elemi, clary sage, clove, and nutmeg. It's a warm and sensuous nutmeg/clove scent. It makes you feel warm and sleepy.
      ~Turquoise- Soaring Spirit
"Invigorating blend of pure essential oils to energize and refresh."
This scent contains scent notes of citrus, geranium, ginger and fennel. This scent makes you feel clean and awake! To me it smells like strong peppermint.
      ~Orange- Sweet Almond
"Sensual combination of calming oils for relaxation and de-stressing."
This one smells exactly like almond extract. I love that smell! It contains the oils of sweet almonds, vitamin E, and skin smoothing emollients.
      ~Green- Pleasure Garden
"Aromatic mix of pure essential oils for sensual and seductive intimacy."
This one contains oils from Italian bergamot, ylang ylang, neroli, rose, lavender, and sandalwood. To me it smells like a sexy blend of sandalwood and lavender. It's very warm and cozy.
      ~Blue- Serenity
"Soothing mixture of pure essential oils for quieting body and soul."
It contains oils from warm cedar, sweet marjoram, orange, and lavender. I think this one smells the lightest and kinda smells like a mix of sweet almond and healing blend. It doesn't smell unique. It's a very relaxing scent and it's the lightest."

"The sweet almond is the most simple of the oils. While the Pleasure Garden is italian jasmine, rose, lavender and sandalwood; the Soaring Spirit is fruity with orange, lemon, peppermint, spearmint, geranium, ginger and fennel; and the Healing Blend is more of a woodsy smell with lavender, cardamom, rosemary, marjoram, elemi, clary sage, black pepper, clove, nutmeg, juniper and pine."

I wanted to share those two descriptions, in case someone else is wondering what they smell like and (like me) doesn't think to read through ALL the reviews for a description. :)
