Minty Fresh

Overall the mint is a little too overwhelming for me. The thickness of this balm makes it extremely long lasting but also makes me find myself wiping it off as it tends to get sticky. It is effective at clearing up my sinuses and I will keep it handy in case I get a cold.

Use

The Dona plumping lip balm is used on the lips to help moisturize, soften and plump the lips. It can be applied the same way you would apply a chap-stick or lipstick as often as desired. It can be used by anyone since it goes on clear. I bought the Camu Camu scent and it wasn't overly feminine so a man could also wear this. It also has an aphrodisiac infused into the balm which can be used to help get you in the mood. It is manufactured by System Jo and is part of the Dona line. The Dona line contains other beauty items including shave gel and body butter.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

The texture of the lip balm is quite good and fairly thick. The thickness helps out so that you don't have to continuously reapply. It has almost a greasy yet velvety feel on the fingers. Once applied it sort of stays put to where it was directly applied to. You will need to move your lips around a little bit and maybe even a few lip smacks to get yourself situated.

Taste / Aroma

The balm itself doesn't have any sort of taste. I would have thought it would taste good seeing that it is being applied to the lips but it didn't. I chose the camu camu scent and it's aroma is overly minty with a hint of lemon citrus. The mint mostly overwhelms most of the citrus hues and reminds me of a vapor rub. Every time I open the cap and smell it my sinuses immediately clear up. It's actually kind of cool.
It does come in a number of different scents.

Performance

This lip balm lasts quite a long time. After being on for awhile I find that it tends to be a little sticky. I often find myself getting a tissue and wiping it off. Even after it is wiped off the remnants of the mint can still be felt on the lips. I am going to use this in the fall if I get sick. Instead of using vapor rub I'm going to try this.

Packaging

This lip balm comes packaged the same way any regular chap stick would be sold at any store. It actually looks like you bought it at a store. It's easy to travel with and can be put in a handbag or pocket and brought on the go with you.
I typically ensure that when newly purchased the plastic seal hasn't been broken off the cap. As long as that is still intact I'm good to go. There are no instructions included although I am sure none are necessary. It does include a list of ingredients.

Olea Europeae (Olive) Fruit Oil, Beeswax, Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Seed Butter, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Riicinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil, Pentaerythrityl Tetraisostearate, Caprylic Capric Triglyceride, Stearalkonium Hectorite, Propylene Carbonate, Palmitoyl Hexapeptide-12, Simmondsia Chinesis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), Lonicera Caprifolium (Honeysuckle) Flower Extract, Menthoxypropanediol, Tetrahexyidecyl Ascorbate (Vitamin C), Vanillyl Butyl Ether, Flavor

Experience

My experience with this lip balm has been ok. It has a sort of menthol/minty feel to it while it's on your lips. It's not something that I would typically wear and I think that tingling mint is what is supposed to help plump your lips. It didn't plump my lips effectively but I wasn't entirely disappointed because I don't really need any plumping. I would probably only wear this if I was in a jam and could only find this in my handbag. The aphrodisiac didn't do much for me either because I didn't notice any difference.
Follow-up commentary
I used this chap-stick throughout the winter more than I thought that I would. The minty smell helped on those sick days. It helped with chapping when I would wear it at night to bed.

Nice review. I kind of like that it's really minty. Too bad it does plump as it should. Thanks for the ingredients list too. Good idea about using it when your sick.

Thanks for reading. It reminded me of when I'm stuck sick with a cold with a little vapor rub under my nose! If you like minty this one might be for you. I'm not completely sure but I think all the scents are minty too so you maybe able to get a different scent if you do not prefer the citrus.
