Money down the drain...literally!!
DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!! I expected so much more out of a nearly $26 bottle of what claimed to be "luxury" shampoo! It is far from luxurious, especially on the pocket book! If you want to spend more on a luxury shampoo, do yourself a favor and hit up a salon or beauty supply store instead!Published: January 29, 2012
Pros:
cute bottle, decent scent
Cons:
Does not lather well, hair does not feel washed, and it is super expensive!
I decided to get a bottle of Principessa Beauty's Terme Tresses Shampoo because it claimed to "banish bad hair days for good!" For someone with very thick and coarse hair that hits you in the middle of your back, this is a dream come true! WRONG! This product was very, very disappointing! It may work better for those with thinner and or shorter hair, but I would definitely not recommend it to anyone with thick or long hair! The smell was decent, but after spending $25.99 for a mere 12 fl ounce bottle, I was hoping to get so much more than a half way decent fragrance out of this bottle of shampoo. I was super disappointed. Especially because I have never before run into a bath and body product from the Principessa Beauty brand that I have not fallen in love with!
The first problem is the consistency. The shampoo itself is a very thin and runny formula. It was almost watery. Because of this thin, runny, and watery consistency, the shampoo did not lather well in my hair at all. It seemed to just slip off my hair and down the drain!
Problem number two! Because the Terme Tresses Shampoo did not lather well, I did not feel that the product was distributed throughout the layers of my hair no matter how long I scrubbed or how much additional shampoo I added to my hair! After scrubbing and rinsing for quite some time, my hair did not even feel clean! One of the main reasons I decided to go ahead and order this shampoo is because the product description claimed to have a rich lather. It clearly does not!
This is a rediculously expensive bottle of shampoo to even find one little thing about it that you do not care for! I think I will be sticking to my $5 bottle of Tresseme shampoo from Walmart that costs way less and works so much better! When you have to use as much shampoo as I have to use on thick and long hair, you just can not afford to spend $25.99 for a bottle of shampoo when you could double your bottle at Walmart for only $5, especially when the $25.99 "luxury" product does not do the job it claims to do!

does anyone know

if this would be likely to irritate my skin due to containing sodium ammonium sulfates? I know I'm sensitive to sodium lauryl sulfates but not sure about the SAS

I would take a stab at a guess that a sulfate is a sulfate is a sulfate, so you probably don't want to mess with it. Especially given how expensive it is, I would hate for you to get it and then not be able to use it only to end up giving it away.

I agree that a sulfate is a sulfate is a sulfate and not to be messed with! Sorry because I would be bummed if I wanted something and couldn't use it.

Thank you for viewing Terme tresses shampoo – soap review page!

I will pass on this. Does not sound worth it at all! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for the review. I'm sorry this didn't work for you.
I'm disappointed so far by my experience with and others reviews of Principessa Beauty products. I'm sorry it didn't work out for you--it sounded so promising.
Thanks for the review I had this on my wish list but I took it off now.
I want this to be in stock!! I am going to buy the kit when EF starts carrying it.
thanks for the review. this is off my wish list.
Too bad, this is really cute looking! Thanks for reviewing.
Thanks for the review
My shampoo was thick and had a nearly gel like quality...it was creamy and pearlesscent. I actually have creases in the bottle from having to squeeze it to get the stuff out.
Also this isn't a high lather or foaming shampoo it is formulated to be worked into the hair slowly from the front of the hairline through the back length. The silk proteins as well as the other botanicals need time to work into the strands of the hair. High foaming shampoos you can buy in bulk have surfactants and lathering ingredients that actually strip the hair of it's oils. This shampoo porduces the very light dense foam that is silky rather than bubbly.
I have very coarse hair that is mid back length and I have no problem using a quarter sized amount to thoroughly clean my hair and scalp.
It is higher priced than my normal shampoo which acts in much the same way as the Terme Tresses but for a change of pace a few times a month it's great.
Sorry it didn't work out for you
