System JO personal feminine spray - spray discontinued by System JO - review by bayosgirl

This personal feminine spray by System JO is designed and marketed to help a woman feel fresh between showers. Since it doesn't have a strong floral or fruity smell, it could also be used by men (provided they can get past the "feminine spray" on the label.) The bottle does not explain this, but from my own testing, it can either be sprayed directly onto the area and/or on the underwear. I have fairly sensitive skin "down there" and it didn't cause any irritation for me. Your mileage may vary, so be sure to test it on an area like your wrist first.

The ingredients list is as follows:

Witch Hazel, Aloe Vera Gel, Clary Sage Oil, Patchouli Oil,Geranium Oil, Vanilla, Tea Tree, Fragrance, Origanum Vulgare,(Oregano) Leaf Extract, Thymus Vulgaris (Thyme) Extract, Cinnamomum Zeylancum (Cinnamon)Bark Extract, Olea Europaea (Olive) Leaf Extract, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Extract, Mentha Piperita (Peppermint) Leaf Extract, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Flower Extract, Hydrastis Canadensis (Goldenseal) Root Extract, Citrus Medica Limonum (Lemon) Peel Extract, Purified Water (Aqua.)

Clearly there are no parabens or other nasty chemicals. Often "fragrance" does contain phthalates, though, unless otherwise stated. Nothing was mentioned about this either on the bottle or on the company website.

The consistency of System Jo personal feminine spray is like water. As you can see in the picture, it sprays on the skin as a very fine mist. The advantage of this is that it's not cloying or sticky. It feels very natural on the skin, and when it dries you can't even tell anything was there.

First of all, I did not taste the product. Even though the ingredients are mostly natural, it's not designed for ingestion and I don't think it would taste good anyway. The smell is a cross between herbaceous and sweet, with hints of oatmeal and powder. I definitely think it's a unisex smell. It does smell strong when first applied, but it quickly 'blends in' with your natural body chemistry and does not seem overpowering. If you are EXTREMELY sensitive to smells, it might bother you, but for most people I think it would be okay.

I apply this product almost every day after a shower and I find that I can still smell it a good 12 hours later. Showering does remove any lingering smell from the product, so if you don't like it you can take comfort in that fact. I liked that the fragrance lasted until my next shower (I shower usually twice a day) but I was disappointed that I could still smell my 'natural' scent along with it. My whole purpose in trying the product was to get rid of that completely. Maybe I was asking too much from a gentle, all natural product.

System Jo personal feminine spray comes in a plastic 4 oz bottle with a "push" top. There are directions in several languages. "Shake well. Hold 4-5 inches from desired area..." Pretty straightforward stuff. It warns to use externally only, avoid broken skin, and keep out of reach of children. I've found that those, also, are standard warnings for beauty products. The packaging, while tasteful, isn't discreet. I would not want anyone except my lover to see the bottle and think I have a horrible odor or something. Also keep in mind that the TSA limits liquids to 2 ounces each for carry-on, so you will want to put this in your checked luggage when flying.

As previously stated, I bought this with the intention to cover up my natural scent. Not that I smell bad, but let's face it, vaginas don't exactly smell like rose gardens. Even with two daily showers there is still a very light "body smell." Anyway, I found that the System Jo spray doesn't exactly mitigate this scent. Still, it does make me feel a little more confident, and for that reason it's worth a try for anyone in the same boat as me. If nothing else, you'll enjoy the novelty of having herbal-scented privates.

Just wanted to add that I have not noticed any staining on my panties from this product. I can see where a material like nylon might stain, but you should be fine with cotton.
