My Bubble Bath Best Friend!!

This has got to be my favorite DONA product so far! I love how relaxing the scent is and went through almost this whole bottle in a matter of a week and a half just because the scent was so addicting!I highly recommend this to anyone and everyone who loves a nice, relaxing bath!

Use

There are numerous types of bath products marketed by DONA. After much deliberation about which product I wanted to try, I went with the Herbal Bath Essence. The description had me hook, line, and sinker! Each product has its own purpose and DONA's Herbal Bath Essence was the one that fit me best. Unlike the chromotherapy bath treatment, which is designed to color the water and enhance your mood with the color and aphrodisiacs, the Herbal Bath Essence is bath oil designed just to simply relax you. However, like their chromotherapy bath treatment, the herbal bath treatment is designed to work more with the mind, to help soothe and relax at the end (or start) of the day.

The ingredients listed on the label are:

Glycerin, Panax Ginseng Root Extract, Ginkgo Biloba Seed Extract, Centella Asiatica Leaf Extract, Paullina Cupana Seed Extract , Ptychopetalum Olacoides Root Extract , Turnera Diffusa Leaf Extract, Arnica Montana Flower Extract, Pausinystalia Yohimbe Bark Extract, PPG-26 Buteth-26, Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Garcinia Mangostana (Goji Berry) Fruit, Fragrance

According to DONA, all of their products use vegetable-based glycerin and not animal-based glycerin (which was very good to know!). If you are concerned about the glycerin, please not that it recommends that you only put 1-2 capfuls of the oil in your bath water and it will thin out greatly. You will not feel sticky at all.

I absolutely loves this product. I used it the week of "my time of the month" and felt so relaxed and even smelled really nice!

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

The texture of this is not at all greasy and is very thick. It is almost like the thickness of Karo Syrup or even maple syrup for pancakes! (Not quite as thick though, a little less.)

After getting out of my bath, I felt like I had a residue or something left one me - it felt a little oily but not quite. *(Please note that I do add a little baby oil to my baths as well to help my skin stay soft and smooth.)* Once I dried myself off the feeling went away and my body felt softer and smoother. THe scent even lingers on your skin!! :)

This product is very easy to measure into the cap and pour (after pouring into the filling tub I also rinsed the cap). The bottle recommends you use one to two capfuls per bath but I tend to put about 2 and a half.
    • Smooth
    • Thick

Taste / Aroma

Let me first state that I did not, nor will I ever, taste this product.
I chose the Acia scent and oh-my-goodess, it was heavenly!! It seemed a bit strong at first but when dispersed in a bath it becomes a lot less intense, but still very lovely. I could smell it on my skin after drying off from my bath and just couldn't stop smelling it!
    • Smells good
    • Strong smell

Performance

When you first put the bath essence into your bath you may see it start to foam up. Please let it be known that the purpose of this product is not to give a "bubble" bath but a "scented" bath experience. I added a little bath gel to add some bubbles to my bath

I felt very relaxed while soaking in the tub with the bath essence. The scent literally filled the bathroom as soon as it hit the hot water in the bath. I loved that so much. After about 20 minutes, the scent started fade but it was still slightly noticeable.

I felt like there was a slight residue left on my skin, but I'm' pretty confident that was from the baby oil added to my water. Once dried off, I felt softer and smoother! :) The scent left on your skin will be fairly light and will not clash with any other scents you may choose to wear.
    • Absorbs into skin nicely
    • Long lasting

Packaging

The bottle is somewhat discreet despite of the fact that it talks about having aphrodisiacs in it and says "Arousing" on the front label.
The bottle is fairly small, only 6 ounces, and is very easy to open (just a screw cap).
    • Discreet looking packaging
    • Travel friendly
    • Would make a nice gift
Follow-up commentary
After using almost the whole bottle in a matter of three weeks or so, I am still in love with the Herbal Bath Essence. I can't wait to get another bottle and would still highly recommend this to anyone who is looking for a bath oil that will relax them. I can't wait to add this to my next order!

The size made me hesitant but I'll try it out. Thanks.

Yes, the size is fairly small and it didn't take me very long to go through the bottle even when using 2 capfuls per bath (maybe I just take a lot of baths) but it is well worth the money You're very welcome!!
