My Lips Are Happy (Vanilla)

This was a great lip balm while it lasted and I plan to get another one very soon. The vanilla scent smelled really nice and it felt good on my often chapped lips. The container is convenient for throwing in your pocket with your keys if you like.

Use

The organic lip balm is for smoothing and soothing chapped lips. That's about it. This lip balm is no different than the lip balms you can find at your local drugstore and in fact I have seen this exact one at my local drugstore.

This item would make a nice addition to a gift basket or along with a gift card as a present. It could be given to literally anyone, as it is not a gender-specific product and it is not sexual in any way, obviously.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

I love how smoothly this one goes on. I had another balm by EOS, the one that comes in a ball-shaped container, and found that one a bit more waxy. This one felt nicer to apply, though it did not last as long. I ended up re-applying this one a lot.

It didn't feel sticky or gritty like some lip balms and I liked that. It's probably one of the better ones I've used.

According to the manufacturer's web site, this lip balm is 95% organic and 100% natural. It's also free of parabens, phthalates, and petrolatum. Sounds good to me. Here are the actual ingredients:
Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil, Beeswax (Cire D'abeille), Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Natural Flavor, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter), Stevia Rebaudiana Leaf/Stem Extract, Tocopherol, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Vanilla Planifolia Fruit Extract.

Those are definitely nicer ingredients than I have seen listed on some lip balms I've had. I'm not the pickiest person about putting chemicals in my body but when I can find products that I feel safe about using, I appreciate it.
    • Creamy
    • Smooth

Taste / Aroma

The lip balm has a strong vanilla smell that almost reminds me of vanilla cake batter. It's sweet and makes me want to lick it but I know better. If I did lick my lips while wearing it, it was basically flavorless. I didn't notice any taste.

If you don't like strongly-scented lip balms, you probably won't like this particular one.
    • No taste
    • Smells good

Performance

Of the two lip balms I've used by EOS, this one was my favorite in terms of how long it lasted. I felt like I didn't have to use as much because it felt moister from the beginning and stayed moist on my lips longer. I would reapply it when I didn't need it (It's a habit of mine.) more than when I did need it, that's how well it stayed. Of course, if I wanted to wipe it off, I easily could with a tissue. I didn't even need water.

It never felt sticky at all, only smooth and silky. I hate sticky lip balms so this was a major plus for me. If I applied too much, it did make my lips look paler as the balm itself is a very light color.

    • Absorbs into skin nicely
    • Long lasting

Packaging

This lip balm was very minimally packaged, like most others. It had clear plastic wrapped around the tube and that was it. The balm itself is in a cream-colored, plastic tube that is around 2 and 3/4" tall.

The balm cannot be opened with one hand but it is easy to use. I like the dip on the top of the cap, it looks nice and made opening it easier.

This balm is much easier to slip in one's pocket and take around than the ball-shaped one, also by EOS.
    • Discreet looking packaging
    • Easy to use / dispense
    • Travel friendly

Experience

My only complaint about this item is the price, both on Eden and in my local drugstores. It's a nice lip balm, yes, but is it really worth $5-7.99? I just don't know about that, considering how many cheap lip balms that work perfectly nice are out there.
Follow-up commentary
I'm writing my follow-up review early because I used this product all up! I enjoyed it while it lasted but I have to say, the ball-shaped balm by eos does seem to last longer than the tube balms. I ended up buying another one of those after this one was all gone.
