EroStick lip gloss - lip gloss discontinued by Kama Sutra - review by Eva Schwaltz

The Erostick lip gloss from Kama Sutra is more like a lip plumper than it is a lip gloss. I chose the strawberry flavor, but it also comes in mint and cherry. This lip gloss stands out from the rest as it will give your lips a tingly/stinging sensation. The gloss comes in a tube similar to mascaras as it has a metallic lid containing a brush inside, and a long slender tube. It contains only .16 ounces which is not much considering the price.

The ingredients are: Hydrogenated Polyisobutene, Ethylene/Propylene/Stryrene Copolymer, Butylene/Ethylene/Stryrene Copolymer, Carthamus Tinctorius (Safflower) Seed Oil, Flavor (Aroma), VP/Hexadecene Copolymer, Phenoxyethanol, Water (Aqua/Eau), Laureth-4, Menthoxypropanediol, Sodium Saccharin, Tocopheryl Acetate, Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil, Blue 1 Lake (CI 42090), Yellow 5 (CI 19140), Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Tribehenin, Sorbitan Isostearate, Palmitoyl Oligopeptide, Vanillyl Butyl Ether.

These ingredients are commonly found in glosses and cosmetics.

This has the same consistency as most lip glosses and lipsticks. The little brush allows you to glide it on smoothly. It makes my lips shiny and slick, but doesn’t make them moisturized or feel any softer. There are some oils in it, but it is water based, so it will wash off easily, and will dissolve if you lick your lips.

It has a sweet taste, but everytime I taste it, my tongue gets tingly, so I do my best not to taste it. The strawberry flavor doesn’t smell like strawberries at all. It smells more bitter, kind of like raisins.

This particular lip gloss gives me a strong stinging sensation on my lips, similar to the stinging of hot peppers. I use a lot of different lip glosses to help with my chapped lips, but this stuff only irritates me. I have lip plumpers that give me the same sensation, but at least they can be used to protect my lipstick from fading.

The tingly sensation lasts for about 15 minutes, and the slickness only lasts for an hour. If you like glosses that last all day, you’ll need to carry this around with you and keep reapplying. You can also give your partner quite the surprise by kissing them and not telling them about the special properties of this gloss.

I really don’t like the way this stuff irritates my lips, but because I am a masochist, and don’t like to waste things, I’ll be holding on to this item. Well, I’m not exactly a masochist, but I’m not about to throw a $16 lip gloss in the trash.

The box this lip gloss comes in lists all the ingredients and some selling points for the item. The gloss itself is held in place with another cardboard piece. The box is too bulky to keep the gloss in, so it is better to just discard it. The box also promises lingering kisses. Your kisses will definitely linger, but not in the most pleasant way. It's hard for me to recommend this as a gift, because I don't know if a lot of people like burning lips, but it is packaged very nicely. From what I can tell, the people who have reviewed the mint flavor say it isn't that strong.
