My Search for Hand Cream Ends Here!!

After trying hand cream after hand cream, I've finally settled on my go-to! Unfortunately, it's small and expensive, but it's effective and convenient. I love how soft and silky my hands feel and look after using this for a week! My hang-nails and dry cuticles are just about gone, and I love the convenient pocket-friendly package (even if it is on the tiny side). This product is absolutely worth my hard-earned dollars, and I'm so glad I found it!

Use

This hand cream is PERFECT! Really, truly perfect. It's tiny and flat, so it fits nicely in my back pocket, and I use it all the time. After washing my hands, if I feel dry, or just if I want to, it's perfect anytime.

The ingredients in the Berry Blossom hand cream are as follows:
Water, Soybean Oil, Cocoglycerides, Glyceryl Stearate, Dimethicone, Glycerin, Cetearyl Alcohol, Sodium Stearoyl Lactylate, Sunflower Seed Oil, Shea Butter, Macadamia Ternifolia Seed Oil, Aloe Extract, Oat Meal Extract, Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate, Tocopheryl Acetate, Retinyl Palmitate, Fragrance, Carbomer, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone, DMDM Hydantoin, Sodium Hydroxide, Tetrasodium EDTA, BHT

Like most of EOS's products, this is mostly natural, though this product is 97% rather than 100% natural. It seems like a lot of chemicals listed in the ingredient list, but keep in mind that ingredients are listed in order of amount, from greatest to smallest. Most of this product is indeed natural, and it absolutely feels that way.

For those with allergies, be forewarned that this product DOES contain allergens. Soybean Oil (soy), Glycerin, Sunflower seed oil, macadamia nut oil, aloe, and oat (gluten) are common allergens. These tend to be more severe allergies when they do exist, so be aware what you're putting on your skin, as you might have a strong reaction to these ingredients if you are allergic.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

The texture of this is lovely. It's not oily or greasy, but it is silky and smooths onto skin nicely. It absorbs quickly (this is what the alcohol helps with), and I can open my doorknob almost immediately after application. It leaves a bit of a sheen on the skin, but it's nothing slimy, oily, or obnoxious. It actually functions almost as a super thin layer of protection against drying out. My hands feel velvety for a long while after using just under a dime-sized amount of this product; a little goes a long way! It's not so thick as a body butter, but it is thicker than most everyday lotions. It's almost whipped in texture, actually.

Taste / Aroma

I have the berry blossom scent and I love it. It's a little strong for me, but nothing overwhelming, even upon first application. It smells a little like a raspberry rose bubble bath, to be honest. They're not scents I'm very familiar with or that I'm very good at distinguishing, so it just smells very girly to me. I tend to prefer lighter, cleaner, less flowery scents, so when I run out of this product, I'll probably try the Nourish or Everyday variations.

Performance

This product lasts me a while, but as an elementary school special ed aide, that's not saying much. I wash my hands all the time; I get glue on my hands, I get sneezed on, I help with bathroom trips, I wipe runny noses, I paint, I color.... You name it, my hands have probably done it. I don't need this product to last me all day, though. I need it to moisturize my skin after all my constant hand washing, and this does the job perfectly. Unfortunately, I don't really have an opportunity to see how long this would last all on its own, so I can't really speak to that.
    • Absorbs into skin nicely
    • Feels natural
    • Long lasting

Packaging

The product is packaged in a tiny, cute little bubble of a container. Unfortunately, it's only 1.5 fl oz, but this size is great for a back pocket on the go (which is how I use it). The product information comes printed on clear stickers on the front and back of the container. I love this because I like to peel off unnecessary labels, but sticker goo annoys the bejeezus out of me. These stickers don't leave behind that kind of residue, so my hand lotion is just pink with e.o.s. etched into the plastic! Hurrah! (I have a bit of OCD sometimes... oh, well!)

The container really is small, though. I like that it fits in my pocket, but I'd love to have a larger option to throw in my purse that was more like 3-5 oz in order to get more bang for my buck. I'm also afraid that due to the shape and material of the container, quite a bit will end up going to waste because I can't get it out. I suppose we'll see about that in a few months when I do my follow-up review!

Experience

I have been on the hunt for the perfect hand lotion for years now. I have naturally dry skin, but it's not so dry that I need specialty hand lotions. I don't crack or bleed, but my hang-nails and cuticles suffer immensely. I've tried Dove, Lubriderm, Gold Bond, St. Ives, Eucerin, Aquaphor, Vaseline, Boots Beauty; I probably can't even think of all the hand creams I've tried. Each time, something's wrong. It's too dry, too greasy, too thick, too thin, smells bad, doesn't last.... This is the first hand lotion I've EVER found whose only problem is that I don't get enough of it in the bottle!! I am SO glad I splurged on this at the drugstore.

It's definitely worth the higher price on Eden if you can't find it anywhere near you, but definitely look elsewhere first. Eden's price is higher than drugstores' as well as the manufacturer's price, so your best bet is to order it here if you already have a cartful, or if you have a gift card/points to spare.
Follow-up commentary
I still adore this product. I bought myself the "Nourish" version -- that's the blue one -- as well, and it smells even better to me than the fruity, flowery pink one. I use it all the time, and I haven't run out of either one yet. A little really does go a long way. I've noticed a decrease in the amount and severity of the hangnails I have to deal with. So, for me, this is worth an extra buck or two at the drugstore!
