Never thought I'd hear of a body mist...lotion???Dona's Body Mist Lotion is such an amazing product. It is a light mist that is sprayed, then once it is rubbed into skin, it moisturizes like a lotion. Not only does it smell amazing, but it also acts as an aphrodisiac. It is such a great addition to an after-shower routine, that I'm gonna make it a permanent part of mine!
Comes in a big, discreet bottle, smells good, lightly moisturizes, cheap price for big bottle
Sticky at first, have to spray a lot
I'm here to write today about Dona Body Mist Lotion. Primarily, this item would be used as a lotion. It comes in a spray, which was really odd to me at first, but I kind of got used to it. The lotion I use on an almost daily basis is Nivea Brand Smooth Sensation 24 hour Hydra-IQ. That lotion has a really heavy, creamy texture. Going from that to this is quite a transition. This product is a lot more sleek and light. I love it very much because I usually get allergic reactions to skin care products. I only really use lotions on my legs, and if it has certain ingredients in it, I will get little red bumps all over my legs, and it's horrible. But, I have yet to have an allergic reaction to this one. It is just advertised as an aphrodisiac infused ritual, but it says nowhere on the bottle about being hypoallergenic. But, so far so good.
This product is not thick at all. It is very misty. You just spray the area that you want it on, then rub it in after you are done spraying. It does stay in place. It's pretty sticky at first, but the stickiness goes away after a few minutes of having it on. It's not greasy at all. I think the best way to describe my skin after having it on for a few minutes is "lightly moisturized."
I got this product in the "Camu Camu" variation. I smelled it at first and couldn't quite pinpoint the scent. I made my boyfriend smell it. I mean, after all, it should appeal to him, considering it is supposed to act as an aphrodisiac as well (I will talk about those abilities in a minute). He believed it smelled like really rich vanilla. I love the smell of it. I keep smelling the bottle because it smells so good. The scent isn't that strong unless you spray a lot on. I just sprayed it onto my arm, and after my arm is about 3 to 4 inches away from my face, I can't smell it anymore. However, when I spray the amount that is enough to cover my legs, I can smell it when fully standing. This product is NOT supposed to be used for tasting, and I don't recommend it either.
I sprayed this product on me about 24 hours ago, and at some point in time, that smell faded. It is also very hot and humid where I am and I work on my feet all day, so I really have no way of knowing how long this product's scent stayed. My legs still feel moisturized, although the scent is gone. It washes off incredibly well, probably since it is a light mist. I love that it moisturizes. Honestly, I wasn't expecting much from a lotion-mist, but it really works beyond my expectations, almost to the point of me permanently switching from Nivea to this. There are a couple of things that I don't like about it, such as how sticky it starts out after spraying it. That is just a minor discomfort that only lasts for a few minutes. The other thing is, if I want to cover my entire leg in the lotion, I have to spray it quite a few times. A little bit does not go a long way with this item.
The lotion comes in a standard mist bottle. It is 8 and 1/2 fluid ounces, which is quite a bit. I've only had this item for about four days, and I have used it every day on my legs since I got it. Even though I have to spray a lot of it on my legs to get it all over, it still doesn't use very much. The packaging has directions on it, as do most lotions. A person can use it as little or as often as they like. This looks like a regular fragrance bottle, so it is pretty discreet and can be used for travel.
There are a couple of things I would consider special features of this lotion. First of all, it is advertised as being paraban-free, cruelty free, natural, and petroleum derivative free. These things are important to me, as a consumer who has allergy problems. If a bottle is labeled with these things, that means it is probably safe for me to use. So, I take that very seriously. However, there are a lot of unpronounceable ingredients in it. This may be a turn-off for some, but those ingredients also may be preservatives, etc. The other feature that this product boasts is that it is an aphrodisiac. I don't know if this was pure coincidence or not, but the same day I made my boyfriend smell this item, he ended up being really turned on (which doesn't happen often). I don't know if it was just him or if it was actually the pheromones in the product. It does seem like anything that says it has pheromones or has aphrodisiac qualities, it does seem to actually work. However, this is just pure observation and I have no idea if the product actually caused his behavior.
