Off with their head silicone hitachi cap - sex toy by Vixen Creations, Inc - review by lilyofthewest

I wanted to like this toy. I really did. I've always feel leery of the mystery material that the Hitachi's (and other wand massager's) head is made of. It stains, it yellows over time, it is probably incredibly porous, it isn't really washable, and it certainly isn't sterilizeable. Using condoms over the head is fine for making it safe for putting against your favorite bits and for sharing with your favorite people, but there ought to be something better.

I had high hopes for the "Off with Their Head". It is:
- removable (easy to clean!)
- made from medical grade silicone (not just cleanable but non-porous and actually sterilizeable!) True, it isn't a good idea to use silicone-based lubes with silicone toys, but that's a small price to pay for the other qualities of silicone.
- a really pretty color (much better than the nasty yellowish color my wand turned over years of use)
- has ridges and one long nub that should be good for focusing vibration on a specific spot (yay!)

All of that is true and great, but it is not quite great enough when compared to some of the flaws in the product.

First, it makes my Magic Wand even louder than it is with the original cap. I think this is because it doesn't really fit very tightly over the head, so there's some rattlyness between the vibe itself and the cap. I wouldn't care about this so much if it didn't lead to another problem:

The cap doesn't want to stay on. Your mileage may vary (especially if a partner uses this on you rather than using it solo), but I find that the angle that is most comfortable and stimulating to hold the wand tends to push the sleeve off. Let me tell you: I like my toys in the power tool category of strength, but I do not like the feeling of the metal wand head directly against my bits!

The looseness of the fit also seems to dampen the power of vibration considerably. If you find the Magic Wand to be a little on the aggressive side for you, this could be a positive thing; it is disappointing if you rely on the mighty power of the wand.
