Use

Coochy is a shave cream is formulated to protect the skin and give you a moisturizing smooth shave. You can use this anywhere you wish to shave, places like legs, under arms, pubic area, and face, but they are not limited to these areas. If you shave it, try to shave it with coochy!

After my first use of this shave cream, I was satisfied. The shave cream moisturized the skin, almost immediately after applying, then it also allowed the razor to guide smoothly on the skin. A key factor in this is having a good razor, no matter what kind of shave cream you have, you need a good razor. (Message me if you would like a good recommendation for razors.)

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

The bottle has a push down cap, that pops up, and there is a small rectangle to dispense the cream. You have to shake the bottle and squeeze in order to get this out, since it it really thick. Coochy shave cream is creamy, velvety, and oily to the touch, which is very similar to conditioner. When you rub it in the skin you can feel how oily it feels, but it washes off easily and without that beading up. The coochy does stay in place, but it will come off with just water, so if you are in the shower you will want to turn off the water.

Taste / Aroma

You can purchase Coochy in pearberry, green tea, and original. I have the green tea, which smells like plain unscented lotion, not so much green tea, but still nice. The smell even stays on the skin after rinsing. I would highly recommend against tasting this, but if you taste your skin after using it, there is no taste that is transferred to the mouth. It only leaves behind a slight scent that is refreshing and clean.

Ingredients:Water, Cetrimonium Bromide , Cetyl Alcohol, Stearyl Alcohol, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Glyceryl Stearate SE, PEG-100 Stearate, Jojoba Oil, Lanolin, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Keratin Protein, Panthenol, Allantion, Methyloparaben, Fragrance, Propylparaben, Diazolidinyl Urea, Blue 1, Yellow 5, and Hexyl Cinnamal.
    • Smells good

Performance

The product will leave the skin feeling conditioned even after you shave and rinse. To wash it off it only requires a light rinse and you are good to go. This shave cream is a great product to use to help guide the razor on your skin, but at the same time conditions the skin. It leaves you silky smooth and very touchable.

The best qualities about Coochy are that it smells so good, the bottle lasts a long time, it seconds as hair conditioner, and leaves the skin so silky smooth. The only flaw with Coochy is that it contains some allergy causing ingredients.

Packaging

Coochy comes in a bottle that stands 6" tall and is 5" in circumference, which is like travel sized. It will fit nicely in your suitcase and there is no worries of spillage with this cap, but to be on the safe side you should store in a plastic bag, just to protect your other items. The bottle is not discreet, since "Coochy" is worded on it rather large, so you will want to keep it hidden away, but it is just shaving cream. And that is just a peal of sticker, so you can remove it. There are instructions on the bottle and some other helpful information, which is a good quick read.
    • Does not leak
    • Easy to use / dispense
    • Not discreet

Special Features

The Coochy shave cream has a hidden use, which you learn about reading the bottle. It can second as a hair conditioner. You just use it like you would any other hair conditioner.

Personal comments

Ingredients Break down:

Water is one of the most universal compounds that can be used. It is tasteless, odorless, and colorless therefore it is added to many products. There are some people that are allergic to water, however this is rare and you would know it by now.

Cetrimonium Bromide is one of the components of the topical antiseptic cetrimide. It is meant to protect against bacteria and fungi. It is commonly used in many beauty products.

Cetyl Alcohol has the chemical formula of CH3(CH2)15OH, which is a fatty alcohol. It takes the appearance as a white waxy solid or white flakes, which depends on the temperature. This ingredient is commonly used in Shampoos, lotions, and creams. History fact: Cetyl Alcohol was originally from Sperm Whale Oil, but that is not longer practiced and it is produced now from Vegetable oil, Coconut Oil, or Palm Oil.

Stearyl Alcohol is a fatty alcohol that is commonly used in shampoos and conditioners, but it used in many other cosmetics like Lubes, Resins, Perfumes, and many more. The main reasoning behind this ingredient is to thicken it.

Hydroxyethylcellulose is another gelling/thickening agent that is widely used in many cosmetics.

Glyceryl Stearate is the vegetable glyceryl ester from stearic acid, which is glycerin and triple pressed stearic acid and then combined with potassium stearate, which is potassium salts. It is used in many creams and lotions which it offers the ability to form lamellar liquid crystalline and/or crystaline gel phases when used with high water content.

PEG-100 Stearate is made from combining natural oils with Stearic Acid. It is commonly used in many beauty products.

Jojoba Oil is from the Jojoba seed, which is from a shrub that is native to the Western United States. The seed is said to hold 50% off its weight in this oil. The oil is liquid wax which has taken place of Whale Oil's in many cosmetics.

Lanolin is also known as Adeps Lanae, wool wax or wool grease, it is a yellow waxy substance secreted by the sebaceous glands of wool-bearing animals. It is widely used in many things such as skin care products, in rust proof coatings, in Vitamin D13, used on baseball mitts to break them in, Shaving creams, restores wool products, polish furniture, and lip balm.

Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice is also known as Aloe Vera, which is juice from the Aloe Vera plant. It is commonly used in many product. It is used in herbal medicine to heal wounds.

Keratin Protein is a protein that helps build the skin, hair and nails, which is is commonly made from hooves, horns, claws, hair, and nails of mammals. It is used in many hair, nail, and other beauty products.

Panthenol is the alcohol analog of vitamin B5, which makes it a provitamin B5. It is the moisturizer in most lotions and creams, so it is very commonly used.

Allantoin is a diureide of glyoxylic acid, which is widely used in oral hygiene products, shampoos, lotions, cosmetics, and many other pharmaceutical products. It comes from the comfrey plant and can be found in the urine of most mammals, but with the exclusion of humans and Apes.

Methyloparaben is a paraben that is found in many fruits, but mainly blueberries. It is used in cosmetics as an anitfungi agent.

Fragrance is the perfume or the scent. It can cause allergic reactions especially to those with sensitive skin.

Propylparaben is a paraben that is from many plant and insects. It is used in many water based cosmetics.

Diazolidinyl Urea is and antimicrobial preservative that is used in most cosmetics.

Blue 1 and Yellow 5 are coloring dyes. However some have had allergic reactions to coloring dyes.

Hexyl Cinnamal is a common additive to perfume.

Experience

Coochy shave cream worked well for shaving my private area and my arm pits, but I found that my legs were far to sensitive for Coochy. I have eczema and find many items just do not work for my skin. It is super sensitive. I did break out into a rash on my legs, but I do already have rashes, however it irritated them. I did not get a rash on my private area or my arm pits though, so some parts of me are more sensitive then others. I still recommend trying Coochy to everyone who shaves.
Follow-up commentary
I prefer to use Simply Sensual Shave Cream because it doesn't break my legs like Coochy did.

I still have more than half a bottle of Coochy after all this time. I just don't use it anymore. It's a well worth it purchase for those who are looking for shave products.

If you had problems with this maybe try Sliquid Smooth. It has a lot less ingredients and they are all natural.
