Pleasure wipes tub - wipes discontinued by GS Wipes - review by PassionQT

I've tried everything from baby wipes, flushables, to feminine hygiene wipes, so I was excited to give Pleasure Wipes by GS Wipes a try. They are intended to be used externally on both men and women's genitalia, either before and/or after sex and leave a light fresh scent on the skin, which is especially appealing for oral sex.

These over-sized 8x9 inch, white disposable cloths come in a box of 25 and are made of very soft fibers that were very gentle on my skin. I tried to get more information off the company website, www.pleasurewipes.com, but as of this review (7/5/2011), the site is down and I'm not sure if that is just a temporary issue. I actually found this brand elsewhere available in individual, one-time-use packages, but these are not available on EdenFantasys (see alternative products below). One site even suggested using them to wipe your toys down with, although that won't do anything to kill germs, but it will remove any fluids or lubricants and leave them smelling nice.

I initially purchased two tubs of vanilla, but ended up with one of each scent, so at least I had both to compare. Other than the different scents (a strawberry exists too, but not available here), the basic ingredients are alcohol-free (so you don't get your bits stung) and the list contains: water, vitamin E, aloe vera, body safe cleansers, and fragrance. Even though the box comes shrink wrapped, upon opening the mango one, my wipes were completely dried out, so I could barely detect that scent or attest to how well it stayed on the skin. On the other hand, the vanilla ones were a bit more damp (but not as wet as those which some other reviews attest to) and more heavily scented, so I was able to test those out. I'd have to describe the scent as a warm vanilla that reminded me of ice cream on apple pie, or in this case, on my "pie". One or two wipes was sufficient enough to take care of things and even clean up after sex. The taste on the skin is every so slightly bitter, but that was not enough of a deterrent to stay away during oral sex.

The white plastic box's lid is a pop top, but it does not seal tightly, allowing air to get in and subsequently dry out the wipes. I was not pleased that within a couple weeks of receiving them, the vanilla ones lost most of what little moisture they did have. So here I was left with a box of wipes that weren't very useful unless I dampened them with warm water. I think the company would have been better off using the plastic bag type/refill type packaging (see similar products) as opposed to a box, which I can't even recycle in my area (#5). So if you are eco-conscious, you may just want to stick to soap and water. Although not exactly convenient for a purse or pocket, the box is still small enough for an overnight bag or to keep in a nightstand drawer with some of your other "sex-essories".

I thought these were pretty worthless overall and I wouldn't use them again. It's just easier to shower or use baby wipes.
