Satin sugar hair and body powder for lighter hues by Cake Beauty - review by oopsy

This is a dry shampoo and body cleanser. It works like baby powder does, by drying up greasy skin and hair. Shake some on your roots and fluff throughout hair to get another precious day before showering, or shake under armpits, in 'sensitive areas' in your bra or anywhere else you need to be freshened! It's a fine silky smooth powder that smells great and effectively drys up greasy looking hair and makes you feel cleaner and healthier if you're on the go! As a student with an irregular and stressful schedule, I found that this product worked amazingly well when i didn't have time or motivation to shower before early classes and late shifts.
It's a clean, sexy, and refreshing pick me up and honestly the best dry shampoo I've ever tried!

The Lighter hues is great for blondes and light brunettes, and I found that the color of the powder was a light cream color. It's almost decedent feeling pouring it onto your scalp! It feels silky smooth and almost creamy cool between your fingers, Which makes sense because the main ingredient is cornstarch. There are two pour features on top, like a spice jar. There is a small hole, about as big as a shirt button, and then another area that size, only with six small holes to shake out a smaller amount. It's so easy to use and doesn't stain or irritate my skin. Because it's a very fine powder, it takes a little while to fully soak into your skin, so don't go whipping your hair back and forth until a few minutes and a double check. It absorbs faster into skin, leaving your skin feeling clean, soft and supple. You're hair might look a little 'fly away' but if you brush it out evenly enough this will go away.

Ingredients: Zea Mays (Corn) Starch, Silica, Parfum, Caprylyl Glycol, Proylene Glycol, Aqua (Water), Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract, Calendula Officinalis Flower Extract, Benzyl Benzoate, Limonene, Eugenol, Coumarin, Citral. May contain: Iron oxides (CI 77492, CI77491, CI77499)

As you can see, it doesn't contain many irritants so it's pretty accessible to anyone interested.

Cake's Satin Sugar has a sweet lemon sugar scent and it smells divine! It's so crisp and delicious smelling, that you don't mind it masking your shampoo (let's face it, if you're wearing dry shampoo your regular shampoo has likely stopped being 100% effective too) It smells fantastic and it's a scent that stays with you whenever you move in close or flip your hair. I did not taste this product. If you are dying to know about the taste, that sounds like a great thing to try out on your own and let me know!
This product does well masking sweat and general B.O. so if you tend to be on the go in between the gym and life, or if you just don't shower every day, this product is a fantastic way to hold you over.

I LOVE this product! I'd give it six stars if I could! It smells so good and it works brilliantly for my hair and my body. I'm a pretty light blonde and I'm fairly pale, so maybe if my hair was darker this would stand out more, but as I am, it works amazingly and you can't tell at all that I'm cheating hygiene! It lasts all day and is absorbs in completely if you give it time so there's no clean up or scrubbing at the end of the day. It's quick, easy, smells great and leaves you feeling fresh! What's not to love?

It comes in a 1.7 oz canister that I would NOT recommend for travel, the top spins pretty easily, so every time it falls over powder poufs up around it, so in a purse, it would be messy. It's a gorgeous bottle though, and it dispenses very nicely.

I find that it takes under 2 minutes to brush this product thoroughly into my hair and 30 seconds to splash it on my body. It's easy and fresh. I'm completely in love! It can be a bit difficult to clean up after though. Because it's such a fine powder it does sprinkle a bit when applying it. This means having to wipe down counters and sometimes even sweep after using it. But this minor inconvenience is worth how well it works!
