Pretty and perfect face palette - eye shadow discontinued by Bella Il Fiore - review by Badass

The Pretty and Perfect face palette, from Bella Il Fiore, is a make up compact that includes 8 eye shadows, 4 lip glosses, and 3 blush options. While this kit does come with a variety of options for your style, it does not come with any applicators or brushes.

This palette is designed to look lovely on all skin tones. It doesn't appear to have a wide variety of colors, but the colors chosen to be included in this palette would be complimentary to all skin tones. I have a feeling, however, that darker skin tones may have issues with the blushes since they are so light.

Lip Glosses
All of these are glossy and smooth. I wouldn't describe them as oily or greasy, but rather kind of creamy. There is nothing gritty or textured about these included lip glosses. Each of the 4 lip glosses are very thin and are not easy to cake on. When using a finger to apply, it glides on easily. It does dry up rather quickly and will need to be reapplied frequently. When it does dry up, the color is not left behind at all. These lip glosses do not stain lips.

Eye Shadow and Blush
The eye shadows and blushes are a bit more difficult to apply. You will need to acquire a blush brush and a eye shadow applicator. The eye shadows can be applied using your fingertips, but I recommend against that. All of the eye shadows and blushes are thin and powdery. Using a brush or applicator, they glide on with ease. Once on skin, they cannot be felt in the least. These compressed powders are difficult to cake on and easily give you a natural look.

All of these products do have a scent, but it is neither good or bad. It is the scent of makeup. I'm sure every female, at least once in her life, has received a makeup set as a gift. As soon as you open the compact you get a whiff of it's makeup scent. The smell almost reminds me of chalk, but all make up kits remind me of that smell.

As for taste, there is none. The lip gloss can be felt when a tongue is run over it, but it cannot be tasted. It can, however, be easily smelled. The eye shadows also have no taste. Not that anyone out there would be licking their eye shadow. I just gave it a shot to find out for the readers.

I was very pleased with both the appearance and longevity of the eye shadows and blushes. Both were light, airy, and did not feel thick or caked on. At the same time, they stayed on all day long without ever needing to reapply. The eye shadow and blushes will need to be washed off with soap and warm water or a make up remover.

When first applied, the lip glosses do make your lips feel smooth and slick. I was less than pleased with the life span of the lip glosses once applied though. Within an hour, you will start to notice the gloss drying up and becoming clumpy when you rub your lips together. For this purpose, you will need to reapply frequently to keep the clumps away and to keep the color.

The ingredients list for this compact is quite extensive. If you have allergy concerns, you will definitely want to look that over and make sure there is nothing that will agitate your skin.

The packaging for this product is relatively simple. It is very discreet, but makeup packaging is rarely sexual anyway. The actual compact is gold in color with a light pink designs. The front panel of this compact tells you the basic information about the compact. The manufacturer and that it is a "full color face palette". The rear panel of the compact shows a map of the contents inside and each color's name. The compacct is easy to open and close. It has a clasp that pops into place when closing and pops open upon opening it.

The exterior box that your compact comes in has the same color scheme, but in reverse. The box is mostly light pink, with gold colored detailing. Inside this box, your compact is in an open plastic baggy. The front of this box is almost a mirror image of the front of the compact, but with the colors switched. The rear of this box is much more interesting. The rear gives a full ingredients list for each component inside the compact. Also on the rear is a brief statement about how this compact is "designed for all skin tones".

While I hope the compact lasts you a long time, the exterior box and bag that hold your compact are recyclable and should be set out as such.
