I rub my duckie - vibrator by Big Teaze Toys - review by ~LaUr3n~

I wanted this as soon as I saw it because I really was one of those kids who owned a real Rubber Duckie. When I saw this I thought it was the cutest thing ever, and I had to have it. The I Rub My Duckie is probably thee most discreet bath time personal toy you can buy on the market today, especially if you have kids. Who is going to know that the innocent and happy looking Rubber Duckie sitting on your bath tub's side is a sex toy? I'm pretty sure the answer to that is- damn near no one.

The I Rub My Duckie is a one speed vibrator and personal massager. Originally designed to just relieve body aches, the I Rub My Duckie is now one of the most popular "As Seen on TV" adult products. It's a great gag gift or practical gift for those who aren't expecting much variety, or power from a personal massager, but want a fun discreet toy. While the Duckie is super adorable, it doesn't make up for the fact that the form is, well, a fucking duck. The rigid form and one speed moderate vibration probably isn't enough to finish many people. It's a good tease though and a lot of fun to use in the shower solo or with a partner. I get a kick out of just seeing it sitting in my shower. Come on. Get your duck on.

The I Rub My Duckie isn't made of rubber like it's original. It's made of PVC coated plastic. The toy is VERY hard, a lot harder than the original. It's very solid too. There is absolutely no give to the Duckie. PVC is a very safe material. It registers as an 8 on the Eden Safety Scale. PVC is very durable and resilient when it is in a hard form like it is for this toy. This PVC is specifically phthalates free. It's also free of latex, cadmium, and lead. Even though the Duckie isn't made of the same material as the original, it does have the same surface feel. It has that ever-so-slightly grainy, velvety feel to it. The painted parts are smooth, like the beak.

When the material is wet, it glides easily over the body. This is especially true if you have body wash too. This isn't to say that the Duckie can't be used outside of the shower. You probably won't need lubricant, but the company suggests only water based.

The material did have a Rubber Duckie smell to when it first came out of the package. Now that it has been in my shower for over 6 months, it has absolutely no smell at all.

This material can't be sterilized but it isn't very porous in this case. Still, take caution with whom you share it with. I guess you should use the same rules you have for your bath products. Would you share your bar of soap? A condom isn't practical for this item and would take away the fun, in my opinion.

The I Rub my Ducky looks exactly like the original. It's got the same ratio of dimensions. This version is the travel mini. It fits easily in the palm of my hand, about as much space is taken as a bar of soap. It's about 3 1/2" long from end of tail to breast. The height is just under 3" tall. I like how the company didn't change the Duckie's shape in any way. It still has the rounded chest, pointed beak, ribbed wings, small tail, and that cute face. You have to get creative with the Duckie to use his form. There is actually an included mini-booklet with some ideas:

1. The Tail Slide and Wiggle: The Duckie's strongest vibrations are in the tail, so use the butt of the toy to slide up and down your sore muscles or find your sweet spots.

2. Head and Tail...will never fail: Using the two massage pressure points, the head and tail, together you can apply equal pressure which is great for shoulders, backs, or thighs for a more intense massage.

3. The Happy Beak Nibble: You can use this the same way you would use the tail, just go lighter.

The bottom of the Duckie is flat, so it can easily sit on your counter or tub's side. Underneath the toy is where the controls and battery compartment are. Here you can also see that the PVC coating is simply glue sealed to the plastic. I have not have any issues with water leaking into My Duckie, but I know others have. I believe this may be the source of their problem. It is is not properly sealed, it will get water inside and ruin the toy. If you use it in the shower or tub and then start hearing a "rattling" inside, discontinue use of the toy and let it dry out. I would then take advantage of the company's warranty and have it replaced.

The battery compartment requires a coin or very strong nails to open. It has a turn style cap that can get lost easily. The single AAA battery drops into the toy vertically, + side facing out. Returning the battery cap can sometimes be a bit tricky. Make sure you really get it on right to maintain the waterproof-ness of your toy.



What could be more discreet than a Rubber Duckie sex toy? It looks like a normal household object. Remember that this does have small parts, so it should not be left unattended around children ages 3 or under. The small size of this mini Duckie makes it great for throwing in a bag for travel.

The power is controlled by a single turn style dial on the base of the toy, next to the battery compartment. Annoyingly, this dial sticks about a millimeter out from the rest of the base causing the Duckie to not sit PERFECTLY flat on flat surfaces. To turn the toy on, you simply move the dial to the on selection instead of off. This powers the one speed, steady vibration of the Duckie. This amount of power is probably not enough to get a lot of people off.

The vibrations are moderate, but they are deep and rumbly, especially for a toy of hard materials! The vibrations can be felt throughout the entire body of the toy, but they are strongest in the butt, followed by the head in second. They are weakest in the chest. The sound level is incredibly low as long as the Duckie is only making contact with your body. You won't be able to hear it over the water, even when you are the one using it. Drop the Duckie while it is on? It will sound like a jackhammer going through the floor of the shower!

The Duckie is obviously waterproof. It can also be submerged though. The Duckie does float. This is one of the most popular questions the company gets. However, it kind of fails at it. I can't remember if my childhood toy floated upright, but this Duckie definitely doesn't. No biggie though! I forgive him.

The Duckie has got to be one of the simplest toys to take care of. It sits in your shower...it self cleans. If he needs additional cleaning, water and soap are just fine. Again, the company suggests only using water based lubricants with Duckie. For storage, just sit him out with your bath stuff. The package he comes in get destroyed when you open it.

The I Rub My Duckie Travel comes in a molded plastic case. It has to be cut to be opened. A stupid thing about this is that when you cut the package open, you cut through some of the instructions that are folded inside the paper insert. I didn't know there was information folded inside that and ended up throwing away the part I cut off. This toy is easy enough to figure out though. Included with the toy is a AAA battery that you can see in the first picture. If you want more power, use a Duracell or Energizer battery. The battery provided is weaker than leading brands.

A small pamphlet is included about other toys. There are many different Duckies to choose from. There are the special collection Duckies that are more powerful. Also included is the warranty. It is on the inside fold that I mentioned earlier. Don't throw it out. If you send it in, you get a Duckie temp tattoo! In addition, there is a small packet about the company, using the Duck, and safety information.

I really think this toy makes an excellent gift. The package doesn't state that it has to be for sexual use.

All things considered, this is a pretty cool toy. No, it's not going to be the one you go to to get off right away, but it still is a lot of fun to use. It does work great for massages if you use the head and curve of the tail at the same time. I love when my partner uses those points to go on either side of my spine. you just have to be careful to not apply too much pressure, the duck is really hard. I had a difficult time finishing with this toy, especially in the shower. For some reason, it was either without water. I still do enjoy using the Duckie on my sweet spots by using the butt on my clit and rubbing my sore neck.

I don't ever have to worry about remembering to take him out of the shower when I'm done and he practically self cleans. I'm also glad I got the travel version. The packaging states it has the same motor ad the larger one. I don't think this would be enough power, plus he may not sit so nicely on the side of the tub then. I really am glad I got the I Rub My Duckie and hope to try other silly toys from BigTeaze Toys in the future.

I am torn between 3 and 4 stars on this product. On the design and coolness factor, it gets a 4.5. For a get off device, it gets a 3. I really wish I could give it 3.5. I'm giving it 4 because, for keeping with the original design, they did a pretty good job getting this to work. It's just not going to work you with power.
