Shunga exotic massage oil by Shunga Erotic Art - review by Cori

Shunga's "erotic" massage oil is most obviously intended to be used as a massage aid. Naturally, it would be best suited for giving a massage. Although, it works great after a bath or shower to smooth the skin and moisturize. Unlike a lot of the oils these days, this one is not all-natural and anyone with sensitivities should exercise caution. And as always, oils are not compatible with condoms, friends!

Ingredients: Sweet Almond Oil, Grape Seed Oil, Sesame Oil, Avocado Oil, Safflower Oil, Viatmin E, Ylang Ylang, Fragrance, Amyl Cinnamal, Benzyl Alcohol, Cinnamyl Alcohol, Citral, Eugenol, Isoeugenol, Benzyl Salicylate, Coumarin, D-Limonene, Geraniol, Lyral, Farnesol, Lilial, Linalool, Benzyl Benzoate, Cironellol, Hexyl Cinnamal, Alpha Isomethyl Ionone

Like many other oils, Shunga's is thin and runny. It is slightly thicker than water. It needs to be poured carefully as it will slide right off a body. The pop-top allows the liquid to be poured easily without even squeezing the bottle.

There is no residue, stickiness, or greasy feeling left behind after using this oil. It may not moisturize as nicely as other oils found on EF but it gets the job done.

I grabbed the "Romance" Strawberries & Champagne scent. When I first smelled it, I rather enjoyed the light fruity scent. But after giving a long massage, the lingering scent smells more like an artificial strawberry candy than anything else. The scent is not overwhelming and is much lighter than a lot of other high-quality oils, but it still fills the air with a light fragrance.

I had imagined this scent would be comparable to Victoria Secret's Strawberries & Champagne scent and initially I thought it was similar but the more I use this oil the more is smells artificially sweet to me and less tangy like champagne. All in all, it's not a terrible scent. It is rather feminine and it makes me think of Strawberry Shortcake scented toys!

This oil is not meant to be ingested but if your tongue comes in contact with any area that was massaged with this oil, it doesn't taste terrible, just not particularly good either.

I tried a quarter-sized amount of oil and it lasted about 15-minutes until I needed to re-apply. The oil felt smooth and slick during the massage and left our skin slightly softer after use. Although the moisturizing quality of this oil seems to be lacking, it provides for a decent enough massage.

There should be no need to wash yourself off after using this oil, it is not sticky or greasy after use. however, if you're like my partner and smell too "girly" after use, it is easily washed off with a little soap and water.

This massage oil is packaged in a clear 8 ounce bottle. The front label feature's Shunga's signature "erotic art" and is not exactly discreet. Hello, butt cheeks! It features a pop-top lid that makes it easy to use with one hand or pour without squeezing the bottle.

The label says "ROMANCE" at the bottom and in smaller letters underneath it shows the scent. The back label explains the use of massage oil, which is repeated in several languages. The bottom shows the long list of ingredients.

The bottle is minimal and there are no cautions written on it. You could travel with this bottle, but I would recommend popping it in a Ziplock baggie to prevent any leaking.

I enjoyed this massage oil, but it is not my favorite. The scent was a little bit too sweet and artificial for me, but I am willing to try the other scents. I often times use my massage oils as a moisturizer or after shaving but this product wasn't nearly as softening as other oils I have.
