FIRST IMPRESSIONS:

I have always been a fan of the Summer's Eve Feminine Wash. But since joining Eden, I have learnt a lot about chemicals that aren't so great for our bodies. I know some people don't see the point in eliminating chemicals where possible, because they are in virtually everything we use. But I say, if there are products that I really enjoy that aren't filled with harsh components, why not use them!

SCENT ~ INGREDIENTS:

I originally bought the Grapefruit/Thyme scent (by accident) produced by the marvelous Sliquid company. I'm not a grapefruit fan at all but I loved the cleanliness of this wash so much that I bought the Honeydew/Cucumber and the Unscented in my next order. It is definitely higher priced than my previous feminine wash but for the peace of mind of natural products cleansing my delicate areas I'm happy to pay the extra.

Although the grapefruit isn't my favorite, I will certainly buy it again if the honeydew one is out of stock when placing my order. It does have the fruit scent but, like with most scents, they never quite smell exactly like the real thing. You can be sure though that there are no chemical smells that the company has tried to cover up.

The unscented naturally has no smell at all. Even store-bought washes that claim they are unscented tend to have some very faint (probably chemical) smell. Not this one!

And then there is my favorite – the honeydew! It has a sweet, clean, cheerful type of scent. I personally can't smell too much in the way of cucumber. Cucumber to me has a clear, crisp smell. This has taken on the full honeydew scent, which I find rather nice. It's very feminine and reminds me of a pleasant fruity Hubba Bubba chewing gum. Although it's very strong and sweet in the bottle, once it's rinsed off, there is only a slight fragrance left on your skin.

All three contain the same ingredients, as follows:

Purified H20, Sodium Coco Sulfate*, Coco Betaine*, Coco Amide*, Sea Salt, Citric Acid, EGMS, DMDM Hydantoin.

*Derived from coconut oil.

The scented washes also feature an added color and fragrances:

Grapefruit Essential oil fragrances and FD&C Red #40
Cucumber Essential oil fragrances and FD&C Green #3

As you would expect, the grapefruit is pink, cucumber is a bright green and the unscented has a pearly opaque appearance. The smooth substance isn't too runny, but isn't real thick either. I find it easy to pour out more than I actually need if I'm not paying enough attention. But then, I have always been rather heavy handed when it comes to liquid washes.

PACKAGING:

Sliquid Splash comes packaged in a pop top, 8.5oz plastic bottle. Although the labels have the exact same image, each is made in a different color, making it easy to determined the scent at a glance. The front features a girl's face with wild colored hair (depending on the scent) and a handful of the female sex symbols. The unscented label is light blue with a dark blue border top and bottom, grapefruit is yellow with pink bordering and the honeydew is green with pink. On the back is the typical information – ingredients, warnings (stop if irritation occurs, keep out of reach of children, etc), directions of use and a list of highlights:

* An intimate cleansing formula
* Glycerine
* Fragrance free (in unscented version)
* Hypoallergenic & non-toxic
* Removes odor causing bacteria
* Formulated as an alternative to traditional soap & water cleansers
* Perfectly balanced to compliment a woman's pH

Splash is proudly made in the USA with no animals being harmed in the process. NO ANIMAL TESTING!

USE:

The bottle has ‘gentle feminine wash' on the front but it's very versatile and can be used in other areas. Along with my intimate areas, I have used it as an all over body wash with great success. Unfortunately, I don't use it as a body wash very often as I'm worried about going through it too fast. That being said, the bottles go a very long way. I received the grapefruit scent on the 18th of April (2010) and have only gone through a 3rd of the bottle. That's with me using it twice per day on my face and vagina – plus a few all over body washes.

Being that I don't know what the coin sizes are in the US, it's somewhat difficult to give a true example of the amount needed per use. For Aussie readers, I'd say about the size of a 5 cent piece is more than ample to cleanse down south. It lathers up beautifully with ease, so a small dollop goes a fair distance.
Experience
EXPERIENCE:

Although I love this as a feminine wash, my favorite purpose for Sliquid Splash is as a face cleanser. It leaves me feeling squeaky clean and soft. I always come away from the bathroom, feeling as though this has cleansed my face far better than my Olay Definity Cream Cleanser ever did!

I'm totally taken with Sliquid and will continue to choose their products wherever possible. I have suffered from a soap allergy since I was 18 where I break out with insanely itchy red spots that kind of resemble chicken pox. Those who also deal with such a condition will be able to tell you how difficult it is to find a soap free body wash in the supermarkets that doesn't cost the earth! Splash feels wonderful on my skin – with absolutely no irritation at all.

Now I just need to invest in a mini water tank, that is piped into the bathroom and have Splash delivered by the truck load, so I can lavish my whole body in Sliquid's wonderful product!

It doesn't get much better than 10 stars!
Follow-up commentary
It's LOVE all the way with Sliquid Splash. I've become obsessive with purchasing a bottle of this each order! I never want it to run out.
My absolute favourite is still the honey dew/cucumber and even though I use it everyday for vaginal and face washing (with the occasional change using the grapefruit), there's still just under half a bottle left.

I have even used it to wash my hair a couple of times. My regular medicated shampoo is expensive, so I use a small amount of the natural Splash each wash, to help stretch the shampoo out a little longer than normal.

I'm totally in love with Splash!
