Use

After I received the Sixty Nine Deep throat mints I was under the assumption that they would work like the old Altoids trick. Well, never assume! Obviously the clever name Deep throat mints went right over my head! After I opened the cute little tin that the mints came in and popped a mint into my mouth I waited for the tingly, minty feeling I get when I pop an Altoids. After a few minutes of waiting and not feeling that minty cool freshness I figured it would possibly come after the mint was eaten a bit more. I proceeded to perform my magic and after a few minutes I asked if he felt anything out of the ordinary. His response was a quick "NO!" and I retrieved the packaging and read the ingredients aloud. As soon as I read the first and only active ingredient Benzocaine my husbands response was "Why in the world would there be a numbing agent? I do not want my penis numbed!" a light went off! "DUH!! DEEP THROAT mints!" (I never claimed to be a genius mind you!) Now, obviously the mints are meant to numb the gag reflex so that you can deep throat without the oh so unromantic side affect of gagging!

There was one allergy alert on the package warning that those who have had a history of any allergies to local anesthetics such as procaine, butacaine, benzocaine, or any other "caine" anesthetics to not use.

The mints contain the following ingredients:

Active ingredient: Benzocaine 10mg

Inactive ingredients: Calcium Stearate, Flavor (Aroma), Mentha Veridis (Spearamint) Leaf Oil, Potassiun Acesulfame, Silicone Dioxide, Soribtol, Stearic Acid, Sucralose.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

The texture of the Sixty Nine Deep Throat mints was like that of any other mint. They are a round mint about the size of a button with the texture not unlike a Altoids, dissolved nicely and did not become too pasty once it became wet.

Taste / Aroma

Once I opened the tin that contained the mints my nose was met with a pleasant minty aroma. As I ate, I was a bit surprised that the mints were not as minty as I had expected, but was more of a subtle wintergreen flavor. Very pleasant and not at all over powering.

Performance

Over all I was impressed with what this mint did. It did in fact numb my gag reflex allowing me to deep throat with no problem. I did discover, however, that once the mint had completely dissolved the numbness only lasted a few more minutes, which could make things fairly difficult for those who have a hard time performing with something else in their mouth. My husband also advised that one should be careful while performing with the mint in ones mouth because the edges of the mint can be sharp at times and may make things a bit uncomfortable. Also, be very careful of mint placement while deep-throating! It could become a choking hazard.

Packaging

The product packaging leaves a bit to be desired. Some of its user instructions that came with the mints were directed toward use as a sore throat drop. They also say to let dissolve before beginning; but, as I stated above, the numb feeling only lasts for a few minutes after the mint is dissolved. As for the tin the mints came in, it is small and discreet, making it easy to hide if necessary.

Follow-up commentary
Still really enjoy using this product! I also gave a few to a friend who has a severely sensitive gag reflex....worked like a charm! She is in love with these helpful little mints. They totally helped with her foreplay...she and her husband are very grateful!

I won't be trying these...numbing an area to make sex less painful or to stop the body's natural responses seems slightly dangerous, that and I loathe wintergreen. Great review though!

It's good that it doesn't numb him as well. Like Airen, I wonder about safety, but for oral it probably isn't nearly as big a deal as anal and vaginal.
