Shield My Coochy!!!

Coochy Protection will shield your cooter from undesirable irritation after shaving. It can also protect other body areas (legs, and face for men)! It has a nice light floral/herbal scent that can only be smelled within very close proximity. It is definitely a product worth trying.

Use

Coochy After Shave Protection Mist is a non burning aftershave formulated for the bikini area. Although it is marketed for the cooch, it is "appropriate to use on any area of the body". My boyfriend gets terrible razor bumps on his neck and gives this soothing spray a thumbs up as well. It can be used on your legs too! I shave once every week or two but coochy is great for all those days where I am still really prone to developing razor bumps, so I spray up every day! Another use for coochy can be to spray it on areas that get chaffed by clothes!

The product warns that "if irritation occurs, discontinue use" so if Coochy is causing more irritation than your vag usually experiences, you should stop using. The ingredients include: Water, Glycerin, Butylene Gylcol, Propylene Gylcol, Polysorbate 20, Lavendula Angustifolia (lavender) Flower/Leaf/Stem extract, Cucumis Sativus (Cucumber) Fruit Extract, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Chamomilla Fecutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract, Flycyrrhiza Glarbal (Licorice) Root Extract, Echinacea Agustifolia Extract, Triticum Vulgare (wheat) Germ Extract, Rubus Idaeus (Raspberry) Fruit extract, Epilobium Angustifolium Flower/Leaf/Stem Extract, Lilium Candidum Bulb Extract, Salvia Officinalis (sage) Leaf Extract, Trifolium Pratense (Clover) Flower Extract, Avena Sativa (oat) Kernel Extract, Dipotassiumm Glycyrrhizate, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavendar) Oil, Benzyl Alcohol, Polyquaternium-10, Potassium Sorbstat, Disodium EDTA.

If you have irritations to any of these ingredients you should not use Coochy protection. Many people react badly to Glycerin although I do not. Usually I get itchy skin from low quality artificial fragrance, and the fragrance in Coochy is primarily naturally derived (i.e. Cucumber extract, Licorice root extract, Raspberry Fruit Extract, etc.)

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

Coochy Protection is similar to water, but maybe a tiny bit thicker (not really oily or tacky). It takes 5-15 minutes to fully dry. If sprayed only once in a specific area it dries quickly but if you spray it repeatedly in one spot it takes a lot longer to dry up. Once dry it leaves a silky smooth barrier on skin. The spray bottle releases a fine mist and does not drip or run on skin when sprayed 3-4 inches away from the skin's surface.

Personally, I like the feeling Coochy Protection leaves on the skin. It's barely noticeable but when I sprayed the back of my left hand and kept my right hand plain, there is a huge difference between skin surfaces. Coochy moisturizes and reduces friction but leaves behind no residue.

Taste / Aroma

Coochy Protection smells similar to baby wipes; light, fresh, and universal. It is definitely not as strong smelling as a baby wipe but the similarities are recognizable. It is slightly floral and herbal scented but not enough that it would bother most people. The aroma is so faint that it is necessary to get your nose pretty close to the sprayed surface to smell the product. I love floral scents and this isn't the best scent I've ever smelt by any means but it passes my standards, especially since it's not meant to be a body spray or perfume! By no means is the smell over powering.

Although Coochy protection is not intended to be ingested, there are no warnings on the bottle, and I assume a minuscule amount is not going to kill anyone (unless of course you are severely allergic to any of the listed ingredients in the Use section). I sprayed some on the back of my hand and licked it off and there was a faint chemical/unpleasant taste that faded quickly. So if you have a finicky partner I would suggest washing it off before oral sex.

Performance

I just purchased Coochy and I have used it in the morning and night for the past 3 days and the bottle still looks full, so Coochy protection should last a good while! It comes in a good sized bottle with 4 Fl OZ of product. The barrier Coochy protection creates holds up all day long (I just like a little extra at night for a touch up). If you do intend to have oral sex you may want to wipe it off (a warm wet wash cloth should do the trick in a pinch), or wash it off it warm soapy water (which will take a little more time).

Coochy protection did what it's supposed to do, but of course it did not give me the vagina of an airbrushed goddess, so don't get your hopes up too high. Coochy protection did give my freshly shaved cooter skin a nice barrier that helped prevent razor bumps but I still got a few (but not as terrible and painful as they usually are).

While having sex (especially when I'm on bottom) my pubis mons area can really take a heavy beating if it's been shaved in the past 4 or 5 days. It becomes tender and inflamed because of the friction and lack of hair in the area. The similar (but less traumatic) thing happens to me when I wear tight blue jeans. Coochy Protection really helped alleviate this problem!

Packaging

Coochy Protection's bottle is rather discreet (although personally I don't think protecting your undercarriage from razor burn should be something you should be ashamed of). I'm a college student but I live with my parents during summer break, etc. If I brought this home my mom would most likely think nothing negative about the container, if anything she would probably think the name was funny and that cooter aftershave was a good idea. I am very modest about sex toys and anything sexual, and I would never bring a sex toy into my home (if I'm in my home town, my sex toys are at my boyfriend's place), and considering that I would take this to my house is saying a lot about the use and packaging of Coochy protection. It's not a sex toy its a bath/body product used to prevent razor bumps.

The spray pump bottle comes with a secure cap covering the nozzle, and I wouldn't hesitate to throw it into a $400 coach hand bag or into a suitcase with all of my clothes. The plastic that the bottle is made of is flexible, not brittle so I wouldn't worry about it cracking. As long as you handle this bottle properly, it is probably not going to break.
    • Discreet looking packaging
    • Does not leak
    • Travel friendly

Personal comments

Coochy Protection is a unique item that is high quality, you're not going to be able to find this stuff at Wal-Mart! Before purchasing Coochy protection I looked in a few chain stores (drug stores and super stores) to see if there was anything cheaper or better. I found one product and it was something I wouldn't purchase because of the $8 price tag and low quality (I'd rather spend a little more and get a much higher quality product that I can read great reviews about on EF).

I don't shave a ton, I let my pubes grow out a little bit before I attack them with a razor again so that my skin has time to fully heal. Coochy Protection is the sort of product that a lot of people don't know is out there, but once you know you want to try it! This product is definitely worth trying so go ahead and buy yourself a bottle if you get razor bumps or any other irritation after shaving!

Experience

In order to tell if Coochy Protection really made a difference, I took before and after pictures (which of course I can't include on EF). My before picture displayed a lot of blotchy redness, and some bumps. And in the after picture it is reduced by about 50%. Also my skin isn't as tender to the touch as it usually is, and coochy protection has prevented itchiness when new hair is growing back in.

My boyfriend experienced similar results (unfortunately he didn't take pictures). His neck isn't perfect but its much better! I think that Coochy is worth the price, but outstanding "airbrushed" results should not be expected!

All in all Coochy Protection will reduce sensitivity and irritation in freshly shaven areas. It will not entirely eliminate razor bumps, ingrown/infected hairs, or blotchy redness but will help. I will also suggest using tweezers to remove any problematic hairs in combination with this spray. This seems to work the best for me, by removing the ingrown hairs entirely and then closing up pores/protecting skin with Coochy you are defending this sensitive area pretty well.
Follow-up commentary
Coochy protection is pretty great! It helps prevent most irritation. I have very sensitive skin and get horrible razor bumps. This always helps, and I love the scent.
