"Ouch! WOW! Oohh! WOW! Please do it again!"

Yes, that's me. And no, I am not a hardcore masochist, an electro-sex junkie or a "pain slut". But having previously owned an EMS(Electrical muscle stimulator device), I wanted to try this one out.

Not to get all technical, but many people confuse an EMS with a TENS device (Transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation). They aren't the same. A TENS device is used to help block and control chronic pain and works very well in professional hands and for many people who cannot get pain relief from other means. An EMS device uses electrical impulses to cause muscle contractions. It is a proven form of electrotherapy in the medical community. Basically, it causes electrical current to flow from the device through the adhesive pads and into your muscles causing them a slight, or not so slight shock, depending on what it is set to and how much your partner wants to toy around with the controls.

While this may sound SHOCKING and even painful, it really isn't. At least not while the control is in your own hands and it is turned down on the lower settings. Unfortunately, when you get all excited, grab your husbands forearm, attach all four pads in very close proximity to each other and flip the control on PRIOR to adjusting the settings, the fallout can be hilariously entertaining to whomever is holding the controller. Needless to say, he won't let me apply them to him again. I get to be the receiver. That's fine! I love it!

Pipedream introduced their Fetish Fantasy Series, of which "Shock Therapy" is a major part. This is far more than a toy. On the lower settings, it's an exciting way to enjoy foreplay with your partner. Dial it up a bit and it's a sexual stimulator that can get the juices flowing well. Dialed up to the highest settings and it will please just about any BDSM practitioner who wants to get/give some punishment/pleasure.

Outside of the sexual realm, it is a fantastic muscle massager. When using it on my shoulders and neck at a low pulsating speed, I was so relaxed after 10 minutes that I almost fell asleep.

The kit comes with the easily held, under 3 inches long, digital power control with LCD screen, 4 adhesive pads (these are easily reused and don't leave any sticky type residue),the lead wire that goes from the power control to the pads and instructions. There's even an eye mask included for those that want to be "in the dark". The control unit displays function, intensity levels, any of the 3 pre-programmed patterns you may want to choose from and provides more than 100 combinations of stimulation. It even has a timer. It takes 2 AAA batteries. Depending on the specific muscle or area you attach the pads to, the choice of intensity and the choice of pulsation pattern, you can give or receive a wide variety of enjoyable and pleasant delights or some rough, rather intensely painful and jarring jolts. The choice is yours and your partners.

And try this---you can both use it at the same time! That's right. You can attach two pads to one person and two pads to another person and stimulate both at the same time. Poly-electro-stimulation. I wonder if I just coined a new phrase there?

Maintenance-The part of the pads that attach to the skin have a gel-feeling adhesive and come covered with a thin sheet of plastic which is best saved to cover back over the pads after use. This protects the adhesive for more times of play. This adhesive will attract dust, lint and such and will after a time become less sticky and effective, so take care by not laying them down on blankets, carpets, ect. In the event the pads become too coated to stick to skin, Pipedream has produced a package of 12 additional pads that you can get for this product. Also they have other products designed to go with the "Shock Therapy", such as nipple clamps, cock cage and even an insertable attachment. There is something for just about anyone that is interested in "e-stim" massage.

A few words of warning now. According to common sense and the instruction guide, if you suffer from heart disease, use a pacemaker, have epilepsy or other neurological problem or disease, are pregnant or are under the close care of a physician, you should refrain from using this device unless you first discuss it with your physician. Do not use this on metal items in your body such as piercings. If when using this you experience any pain or discomfort that you do not like or are concerned about, stop using it.

Overall, I am more than thrilled with "Shock Therapy".
Follow-up commentary
Although we do not use this as much as we had been using it, we still enjoy it. It has been a nice thing to find out that the batteries are lasting a long time and that the adhesive pads also last when care is taken with them.

  • Shock Therapy Questions from a beginner
    • I never thought I'd order this, but curiousity has killed the cat.

      My questions:
I have several piercings. Is it okay to leave them in during use as long as I don't put the pads on the metal?

I've read some things that say that you shouldn't do them on your nipples. I don't know a lot about electricity, but I'm wondering if it's safe to use it on one nipple at a time and if the warnings come when you are just using one on each nipple, or is hte chest area not safe at all?

Any advice, or fun things I should try (hot spots, etc.) would be appreciated!

Anyone? It should be here in a couple of days, and I'm really anxious to try it out.... but I've never used one before so I want to make sure that I'm covering all of the obvious things that I might not think of.

I don't know the answers to your questions but I was curious about the product so I read some of the reviews. I think some of your answers are in the reviews. Looks like you have to have all four pads attached for it to work. Not sure about the piercing safety. Good luck and have fun. I'm not sure I would be brave enough to try it ;O

  • Little person with flashing parts on the Shock Therapy Kit
    • I was quite perplexed by what this did, as different parts of the person would flash but there weren't any instructions about it.

I e-mailed their customer service and they told me that the little person on the LED is a design flaw and that they never actually developed the function that they were going to use it for.

Just in case any of you out there were wondering. :P
    • All I read was "little person with flashing parts". >_>

      Heck, Miss Debauchery,

Right now, that's about the ONLY part of MY unit that IS working!

GEESH!!! I just posted a 1-star review based on what appears to be a DOA unit. But I REALLY want to discover it's "operator error" on my part. So any tips you may provide would be MOST appreciated. (Perhaps I could even "service your needs," whatever they may be [weg], at some point?!?)

  • Fetish Fantasy Series Shock therapy kit Question...
    • I just got this delivered today and am MAJORLY digging it! Though I have to ask, just how safe is this toy on genitals (both penises and vaginas :P) and highly sensitive spots (nipples, butt cheeks, etc etc)? I know there are different shocky items available via Pipedream elsewhere (like the cock cage or probe) but I worry about frying nerve endings and other scary stuff :S

I've wondered the same thing. The instructions don't tell you not to and I'm sure the box wouldn't have them placed where they are if you couldn't do that. All it says is not to use it anywhere internal. I think in the adult video review on the page, it is actually put in some sensitive spots. I'm not brave enough to try it yet.

I'd say that if you wanted to try it, start it off on the lowest intensity. I can barely feel that one on most of my body.
    • I guess it depends on the intensity and what your comfort level is.

  • Adhesive
    • I'm slightly sensitive to adhesive, especially the kind found on band-aids. Does anyone know how the adhesive on these pads compares to band-aids (like is it stronger or weaker than that on a band-aid)?
    • Sounds like a good question to post here.

I'm very sensitive to adhesives too, this would be interesting to find out.
    • Its pretty strong id be weary

If not, are you interested in it?
    • I have not. But I want to try it out and see if I would like it or not.
    • Haven't tried it, not sure if I will because I'm a little scared. However, it does look kind of interesting.

It was a tickling sensation, I am not into the pain fullness of things either, and it is by far not a painful thing, but the higher you crank it the more you will get so I guess for some it could get painful

  • Shocking!
    • What are the best parts of the body to use this one, and why? Also what are your personal favorites?
    • Quote: What are the best parts of the body to use this one, and why? Also what are your personal favorites?
In the sexual realm, we tried several areas such as breasts including nipple area. If the nipples are EXTREMELY sensitive, I advise to avoid that area directly and work on the area surrounding them. Inner thighs are also very good places to explore with this as is the bottom of the buttocks. For muscle massage instead of using for sexual stimulation play, any muscle area is good but I would avoid facial areas. Always start on the very lowest settings and increase slowly. If anyone has a history of medical problems relating to heart or seizures, I advise speaking with their doctor first as a normal precaution.
    • Great video!

Does anyone know if this is less intense than the neonwand? I am having a difficult time talking my friend into trying the wand, and thought maybe this would be more her style.
