When my husband first bought me this toy, I was very intimidated, because of the size of it and the fact that it plugs into the wall. This toy has two intensity settings; Low and High. Both settings are fun, but I do prefer High. This was the first and only toy that has been able to make me squirt. The first time it happened, I was shocked, I thought that was just a movie stunt. You can purchase attachments for the head of the Hitachi, which I have not yet done, but do plan on, because they look pretty interesting. Personally, I like the way that the Pleasure Dome looks.

There are a couple drawbacks to this toy, unfortunately, but the benefits outweigh them for sure. The head of the Hitachi has grooves in them, so you kinda have to work a bit more to clean it, but I would not let that stop you from getting it. I have found that some Before & After Toy Cleaner and scrubbing with a nail brush will easily clean it out. Another problem is that the cord could be longer, and that can be fixed with an extension cord, so that's no big deal. The last drawback would have to be the fact that it is loud, but you kinda have to expect that from the intense vibrations of it. Thing is, one time when my mother was over and hubby and I decided to get some "Us" time, and we knew that the Hitachi was loud, so we turned on the radio...bad decision! The sound of the wand was amplified by the radio, I was mortified, but now we laugh about it.

I have heard that some people have used this toy internally, but I have not yet tried that. Personally, I use it directly on my clit and let the vibrations wash over me. I can usually squirt four or five times before I am actually done. If you have never squirted before, I must say, it is the BEST orgasm you will ever have! If I were to use it internally, I think I would want to add an attachment to it, like the Miracle Massager and not insert the Hitachi itself, as that seems kinda dangerous to me. I may have mistook what others have said about that though, and honestly, I hope I did mistake it, cause it just doesn't seem safe to insert this toy without an attachment, you know...water and electricity and all.

There are a few items that look like they would compare to the Hitachi, but I have not tried them.
