Use

Sex and Mischief Nipple Clamps by Sportsheets are for kink lovers and novices alike. With its adjustable screws allowing for the option of light, to moderate, to oh my god are you trying to pull my nipples off? - pain is available. Besides the kink lovers, these nipple clamps are also a lovely addition to the collection of those ladies who like to add a little bit of burlesque feel to play, or those that enjoy ticklers. Why? Well what makes these nipple clamps different from others found on EdenFantasys are the light, plush feathers featured heavily around and on the ends of the clamps. Word of advice though: while I would recommend brushing these feathery ends against other outer parts of the body besides the breasts, it would be best to keep them away from the nether regions. These feather clamps, while pleasurable, do tend to leave little tufts of feathers in their wake on occasion, something you wouldn’t want to make its way inside of you.

Material / Texture

There are four prominent materials featured in this product: Metal, Rooster Feathers, and Rubber. Of these, you will probably feel the rubber encasing the metal nipple clamps and rooster feathers at the ends most clearly. Below I will include a description of each material in terms of function and feel.

Metal
This is a phthalate free and non porous material that works to be firm and rigid. In the case of the Sex and Mischief Nipple Clamps the metal is smooth, and so shiny the light reflects off of it. Like other metals this will retain heat if left in the sun, which is something you may or may not want to take into account, given your personal preferences.

Feathers
Featured in the product are wispy, black rooster feathers which possible take up more room then the rest of the materials. These feathers are super soft and move readily in any direction you would like them to go, with absolutely no resistance when used as a tickler. When worn as they are meant to be, they add an increased amount of pleasure that works dually with the pinch provided by the metal and rubber clamps. The best way to describe the sway of these feathers while wearing these nipple clamps is to say it’s like being seduced romantically, while enjoying delicious pain at the same time. Dual effect.

Rubber
This might be the only time I would own a toy with rubber as a material without feeling overly cautious. As rubber is a porous material, the edges of these clamps should not go near yours or your partner’s nether regions without protection. Luckily this is not a product designed for that part of one’s anatomy. This durable material is extremely smooth and thick, making the wearer feel safe to have this as the buffer between one's nipples and the metals edges. According to EdenFantasys, rubber is a material that will last a long lifetime due to its resilience. Between this and the metal, one should not fret how long the clamp portion of the product will be intact for your use.

Shape / Design / Size / Fit

There are two ways you can wear this product, depending on your sensitivity level. First, you can place these nipple clamps in the same fashion in which the model in the stock photo is wearing them, with each black rubber clamp lying down the side of your nipples. This is a fairly comfortable positioning for them and good for beginners, as they can be worn longer in this manner. The second option is to wear these clamps so that they are hanging down over your nipples by being placed vertically. How this feels in terms of pain may differ, but from experience this felt like the more painful option, and probably best for more intermediate to advanced users looking for more of a pinch. On top for positioning, the Sex and Mischief Nipple Clamps do come with an adjustable screw which helps to alleviate, or increase pressure, at the wearer’s discretion. For those of you who are worried about whether or not this will fit your nipples properly, the clamp does open 3/4 of an inch in length.

The opening of the clamp is very simple; if you have ever laid your laundry out to dry and used clothes pins, then you should be familiar with this type of lever. You simply push down on the rubber encased metal lever, and the two equally rubber encased metal clamps open up. For ultra pain lovers looking for teeth at the ends of these clamps, I regret to inform you that these clamps are smooth with a slight curvature.

As for the feathery portion of these nipple clamps, which are quite prominent, they begin at the very end of the metal portion which is parallel to the rubber lever. These sprout out from inside a small metal cylinder from that side of the clamp, which is about 1/2 inch deep. From there the feathers spread out in fluffy wisps.

Care and Maintenance

Be extremely careful when and if you must clean this product. Since the feathers are attached to the metal and a huge portion of the product, one must be aware that getting lubricant or water on this material will ruin the feathers, thereby losing the one feature which help to make this uniquely different. If you must clean the metal or rubber be very cautious; spray some toy cleaner on a dry cloth and carefully wipe down what needs to be cleaned, while making sure not to get the feathers wet. Then use a dry cloth with no toy cleaner to wipe up the extra moisture.

When storing this product, you can make the most of using the cellophane bag it comes in to plop the nipple clamps in there, before storing somewhere away from the sun. You can also use any small Ziploc bag to store these in. But, if you do not want to place them in a bag, do keep them away from any items the feathers could potentially get caught on.

Packaging

While the box this product comes in is alluring and does have some thought put into it, this is probably not something you want to keep out in the open or take out of the EdenFantasys postal package in front of company. About 10 times the size of the nipple clamps that jostle around insecurely inside of it, the packaging provided by Sex and Mischief is sexy and durable. This thick cardboard box features the model from the stock photo wearing the nipple clamps, with her bosom on display, arms up and in her hair, and looking far away and seductive. In the back there are no real directions as to how to use and care for the product, but there is information regarding what materials the product is made of, and a handy dandy story. Perhaps the story is supposed to coincide with the stock photo on the front.

Upon opening the box, you will see the nipple clamps lying bunched together inside a cellophane bag that is sealed with adhesive. This bag is not secured within the semi-large box, so some of your feathers might be lost in transit. Not enough to worry, just enough that you might want to open the bag near a trash can for when the feathers float out.

Experience

This was a first for me. I won’t lie; I have never used nipple clamps before this item was assigned to me. I had thought about them, researched them, and even had some on my wishlist, but I had never taken the plunge, mostly because I’d read many mixed reviews on the products I was interested in, making me apprehensive. I was so happy when Eden assigned these to me, because I’d almost missed them with the other Sex and Mischief products that came in. Overall, I was super happy with this product as a beginner; because of this felt like a good item to grow with in time. Plus, the feathers are just gorgeous to look at and luscious to touch. As a first timer, the clamps were something to get used to, even when they weren’t screwed in. Having them there pinching my nipples was a foreign feeling that I knew I would like once I had adjusted to them.

While there are two things about this product that concern me, neither would stop me from purchasing a new pair if I need to. The first is that the feathers are quite sensitive, and I don’t see them lasting more than a year before they’ve thinned out. Since I want this for a mixture of reasons, I know in time they will need to be replaced. Secondly, I found it slightly difficult to open the clamps for an extended amount of time, such as to take a picture. Given what this product is used for, this isn’t something to worry too much about. I would just recommend watching out that they don’t snap shut suddenly and unexpectedly while you’re adjusting them.
