Silky, Shiny, Happy Hair

In my opinion, I think Princepessa missed the mark with their signature scent, Isolina. It's not my favorite, and it feels like it's just not for your average twenty or thirty-something woman. It does remind me of a tropical island, and I like that it's made in America, but otherwise I'm really not all that impressed.

Pros
It's (TSA) travel friendly at only 2 ounces and would make a great Grandparent's Day gift.
Cons
Really heavy, "mature" scent that lasts for hours and can be overpowering.

Use

Princepessa products are branded as unapologetically feminine products. The color schemes and designs are in baby pinks, soft blacks, and pure white or ivory tones, and their line is rather extensive, from hair care to lip balms. Though they are inspired by Italian designs and fragrances, the products are made in the U.S. and contain mostly all-natural ingredients.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

The texture reminds me of a Pantene Pro V style formula, heavy with vitamins and nutrients without weighing the hair down. It is easy to lather, and lathers almost as well as Pantene shampoos (and definitely better than your lower end products like Suave or White Rain). It takes about a quarter-sized amount to effectively lather hair that is considered long (past your shoulders).

It feels like pearlized silk and looks much the same. It is neither sticky nor greasy, and doesn't leave any visible residue on the scalp or strands of hair.

Taste / Aroma

Princepessa's website says their shampoo formula is scented with their signature fragrance, Isolina. The top notes of Isolina are said to be violet leaves and mimosa, while the middle notes are rose and neroli, and the base is heliptrope and precious woods, according to the fragrantica site.

The scent is very reminiscent of maturity; it reminds me of a perfume my grandmother would wear, or a really posh and sophisticated woman. It almost feels too mature for everyday use, and the scent lasts for up to six hours; at times, it was somewhat overpowering.

Performance

As far as cleaning goes, it does quite well. My hair was clean, not greasy, and easily styled while feeling softer as the packaging claims it would. This particular size, 2 fluid ounces, only lasted two weeks. I have rather long hair, and it was easy to go through it quite quickly.

I like the packaging; it's sweet and delicate, and the product does what it's supposed to do as far as the actual shampooing goes.

Experience

I am rather indifferent about this; the cost versus the amount you get coupled with the scent...I don't think it's something I'm going to invest in for the future, but it would be a really great gift for women who prefer strong, mature scents. It is neither light, airy, or fruity. It is slightly musky, and I'm afraid I'm rather turned off by the coconut oil.
