Smells great...

This product smells great all over your hands... And sleeves... And pants... And chair... And floor... And shoes... And hair... And bottle... And any drawer you store it in... And it WILL get on all of those things! But I love it anyways, because this product is very high quality.

Pros:
Smells great, smooth, slick, easy to use, professional bottle, awesome gift
Cons:
Bottle leaks easily, letting it get everywhere! But fortunately, everything in my closet now smells

Use

This is a romantic massage oil, and is sold under the 'sensual love' section of Eden because it is intended to spark passion. You can use it for any type of massage you want, be it romantic, sexual, therapeutic, or simply to work out painful muscles.

With this oil you don't have to be a professional masseuse, but you sure will feel like one! The earthy, professional bottle boasts no pheromones or sexual implications, which I really enjoy. You can warm the bottle if you want to before massaging, but either way your partner will thank you!

This would be great for newly weds, or for anyone looking for a thoughtful, nonsexual gift. I think that it is a great way to relax and feel closer to your significant other.

PLEASE look over the ingredients and so a spot test on your skin before using this in case you have any allergies!

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

This massage oil id a bit thinner than my Sensuous oil, but is no thinner than some lubes I've tried. When you first drip it into the palm of your hand it dies try and drip out, but once you rub it on skin it covers well and feels slick. It feels as natural as massage oil can, and isn't unpleasantly slippery.

There are pros and cons to this oil being thinner, and they both have to weigh in with how you use it. On one hand it absorbs into the skin a lot quicker, meaning that you will have to reapply more often.. This also means, though, that you will not have to shower off or wipe down afterwards. Sometimes you want a quick, no hassle massage and this thinner, more absorbable oil is great.

It pours out of the bottle easily and is easy to stop pouring out as well.

Taste / Aroma

This smells very nice, and I feel like it comes in scents to appeal to almost everyone. The different aromas also have different designated purposes, from erotic, romantic, or simply relaxing. Pick your mood and pick your scent!

I got the Sweet Almond simply because almond is my favorite scent ever. I was pleased with this scent even though it is, indeed, very sweet. The main scent is a sugary almond, with some light floral undertones. However after you let the scent linger in your nose for a few seconds an earthy,, musky scent emerges. This is a nice contrast to the original sweet scent, but if you were looking for something that is less 'natural' smelling I would recommend something else.

I really wish that the internet offered a scratch-and-sniff function, because this is quite a difficult smell to describe! I feel like it will appeal to everyone!

The Sweet Almond's aromatic purpose is also purely for relaxation and is not intended to help provoke sex or romance. I feel like this is also the best scent for our lifestyle in this aspect, as well. We use massages in order to work out kinks in our back, and when our backs are in that much pain it rarely results in sexy time, anyways.

The aroma is very strong at first, but it dissipates easily into the air. In a bathroom it might linger for a bit, but in my bedroom I could only smell it if i sniffed my hands after a few minutes. I found that it did not linger on my skin as well as my Sensuous massage oil which, again, can be a pro or a con. I use my Sensuous as a perfume, so I would have liked to be able to use this similarly.
    • Smells good
    • Strong smell

Performance

This is a wonderful massage oil, but it doesn't last as long as some thicker ones I've used. Depending on the skin type/location you apply it to, it will probably need reapplication every 10 minutes. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it may ruin the mood if you mind reaching for the bottle after your first application.

I notice that my hands tend to stay a bit greasy even after my skin has absorbed the oil, but that is not a big deal and is easily solved with a paper towel or some water. I haven't found that it rubs off or stains clothes if a bit is left on your skin, but I have only worn resilient fabrics over it and might be more wary of delicate clothing.

I would recommend starting with a smaller amount and then moving to a larger amount so that you don't end up with drippage. I really like how soft it makes my skin, either using it as a massage oil or a lotion. It also would work great if you add a few drops to your bath water for a relaxing 'spa' experience.
    • Absorbs into skin nicely
    • Feels natural
    • Reapply often

Packaging

This came from Eden in a tied plastic bag, which I found to be very thoughtful as I ordered it with a lot of things that I didn't want to get oil all over!

The bottle itself is very tasteful and professional, which would make it ideal for gift giving! Pair it with some massage stones and rose petals and almost any couple on your Christmas list would thank you! Nothing on it even hints towards the sexual.

It comes with a small silver seal, but you can peel it off and then it is ready for use. I would REALLY recommend storing this somewhere it will stay upright even during an earthquake, because even if it is on its side for a few minutes it will start to leak lovely smelling oil all over! I would also recommend storing it in a bag just in case it happens to fall over because oil does have a tendency to stain things. Because of this I wouldn't recommend it for travel.

The top can easily be opened with one hand, but be careful not to get much oil on the bottle itself during use because it does get a bit slick.
    • Discreet looking packaging
    • Leaky container
    • Would make a nice gift

Personal comments

Since this is oil, it WILL degrade latex like nothing else! So please, if you are relying on condoms as contraceptives shower off between your massage and sex, or don't use it as foreplay but as a romantic or relaxing massage only.

Experience

While this has not replaced the Sensuous as my favorite massage oil and moisturizer, I really love how many scent options it comes in. The fact that it looks so professional and that the different scents have different intended aromatic effects makes me want to give this to everyone in my life for one use or another!

I am trying to figure out a better way to store this so that it doesn't leak everywhere, but even with that flaw I love it. Four stars; one off for inconvenience, but the oil itself is lovely.

Thank you for the review Ryuson! I actually find the Sweet Almond scent to be the most enticing when it comes to "turning a person on". I got the sampler kit and the other ones had a more "earthy" smell to them. The sweet almond, has a "sweet" scent lol That could just be for me though. anyways, thanks again!

Great review, thanks for including the ingredients. I always find Kama Sutra to make good products but from past purchases and reviews I've read there storage seems to be a bid shoddy. Pleasant to look at but not the most conventional over all which sucks but I love there stuff.

  • Sensual Massage Oil- What the heck do they smell like?
    • Sensual Massage oil has a nice little selection of scents...
Here's the problem- There are 5 scents to choose from, but no way to know what each one smells like! There is no description of any kind! And most of the names (Pleasure Garden, Healing Blend, Serenity and soaring Spirit) give no hint as to what scents they include!
Does anyone know of a website/page that describes each scent option better than EF's product page?

Ah, you're right! I read the first 3 reviews that had been posted on this product, and was discouraged when they didn't describe all 5 scents. After reading your response, I decided to go through and read every review for this product, in search of descriptions.

      "~Purple- Healing Blend
"Rich blend of essential oils for soothing muscles and restoring harmony."
This scent is very relaxing and warm. This is a great scent for when you want to relax and unwind. It has elemi, clary sage, clove, and nutmeg. It's a warm and sensuous nutmeg/clove scent. It makes you feel warm and sleepy.
      ~Turquoise- Soaring Spirit
"Invigorating blend of pure essential oils to energize and refresh."
This scent contains scent notes of citrus, geranium, ginger and fennel. This scent makes you feel clean and awake! To me it smells like strong peppermint.
      ~Orange- Sweet Almond
"Sensual combination of calming oils for relaxation and de-stressing."
This one smells exactly like almond extract. I love that smell! It contains the oils of sweet almonds, vitamin E, and skin smoothing emollients.
      ~Green- Pleasure Garden
"Aromatic mix of pure essential oils for sensual and seductive intimacy."
This one contains oils from Italian bergamot, ylang ylang, neroli, rose, lavender, and sandalwood. To me it smells like a sexy blend of sandalwood and lavender. It's very warm and cozy.
      ~Blue- Serenity
"Soothing mixture of pure essential oils for quieting body and soul."
It contains oils from warm cedar, sweet marjoram, orange, and lavender. I think this one smells the lightest and kinda smells like a mix of sweet almond and healing blend. It doesn't smell unique. It's a very relaxing scent and it's the lightest."

"The sweet almond is the most simple of the oils. While the Pleasure Garden is italian jasmine, rose, lavender and sandalwood; the Soaring Spirit is fruity with orange, lemon, peppermint, spearmint, geranium, ginger and fennel; and the Healing Blend is more of a woodsy smell with lavender, cardamom, rosemary, marjoram, elemi, clary sage, black pepper, clove, nutmeg, juniper and pine."

I wanted to share those two descriptions, in case someone else is wondering what they smell like and (like me) doesn't think to read through ALL the reviews for a description. :)
