Body wash - soap discontinued by Venus - review by SecretToyLover2

This product is best used after a long day, to cleanse the skin of dirt and grime. Perfect for your average dirty man who works all day, and comes home sweaty and in need of some serious cleaning (my husband). I would like to note that if you have sensitive skin, or skin with tendencies to dry out, you do want to make sure to moisturize after using this product. Otherwise, you may end up with some seriously dried-out skin, and a lot of discomfort. But if you're like my husband, and constantly sweating from work and the gym, you'll be fine either way.

Ingredients: Aqua, Dead Sea minerals (see above), Cocoamide dea, Cocoamidopropyl betaine, Sodium lauryl sulfate, Glycerin, Carbomer, Triethanolamine, Methyl paraben, Propyl paraben, Imidiazolidinyl urea

This product does contain Glycerine, so if you are sensitive to that ingredient, I would definitely avoid using this product.

The viscosity of this body wash is like that of laundry detergent or dish soap... or somewhere in between the two. It doesn't exactly sit still on the skin, but it doesn't easily drip down the skin either. Unless, of course, you've poured a large amount on yourself. So it's pretty thick, but that's not always a bad thing. A little goes a long way, and using this product with a body pouf is a great idea.

It's not exactly easy to pour once the bottle has become half-full. You'll have to hold it upside down for a few seconds and wait for it to come out, or add a little water to the bottle and shake it up.

There is no sticky, greasy feeling associated with this product. It goes on smooth, lathers up easily, and washes away without a hassle in the shower. It's a quick and easy way to clean yourself up after a long day.

My husband and I have tried practically the entire line of Venus's products, but this is the first body wash that we have absolutely hated the smell of. It smells exactly like men's shaving cream, and we cannot stand that scent. My husband doesn't hate it as much as me, and continues to use the product. But he does not use the body spray because it smells even worse.

If you are someone who likes the smell of shaving cream, you should be fine with this. We were really just expecting something a little more like Axe body wash, or a cologne scented product.

Obviously, this product performs well. It cleanses the skin thoroughly, and I was surprised at how well these body washes actually work. They are well worth their price. They all really remind me of a clarifying body wash. One that you would buy to remove build-up on the skin. I didn't like the way it dried my skin out, personally. But I have always been sensitive to Glycerine products. My husband's had no issue with this.

The bottle, shown on the product page, is exactly what you get. It is wrapped tightly in plastic, in case of leaks, but I can't even imagine one of these bottles leaking. The cap screws on tightly, and the bottle isn't going to snap or crack any time soon. It is very sturdy and great for travel.

There is nothing sexual about the Venus line, so there's no worry about leaving these products out in the open. They are simply all bath and body products. Suitable for anyone, of any age, so these also make great gifts.
