So Fresh & So Clean Clean!

Though this spray may not be for everyone (and the chemically-sensitive may really need to think hard about this one), it works great for me. I appreciate the well constructed bottle as well as the stench-free formula. It helps, alongside soap and water, to keep my toys squeaky clean and sanitary for playtime fun!

extremely useful review
On the recommendation from another contributor and her amazing review on this product, I knew I just had to have it. I'm certainly guilty of using a toy and throwing it on the floor, in the dirty laundry basket, etc. to clean up in the morning. And especially when it comes to anal toys, there's nothing wrong with one more step to the cleaning process to ensure maximum sanitation and hygiene!

Now let me start this review with some basic information about toy cleaning sprays and wipes: They are best used as a first step in the cleaning process for insertable toys and this should not take the place of soap and water. You won't hear anyone saying to replace brushing your teeth with whitening chewing gum and the same applies here. You still need to thoroughly wash your toys! But this will allow you to be extra sure of its cleanliness as well as being able to take care of the basics while you sleep off your climax before washing your toys in the morning. Another great use for this toy is on all of the external products you use that don't necessarily need major sterilizing. Massage/vibrator wands, massage tools (like steel, ceramic, and porcelain) can also be cleaned with this spray.

The main ingredient in this spray to give it its power is triclosan. It's an anti-bacterial and anti-fungal agent that is actually commonly used in most toothpastes. No, that doesn't make it edible. You're supposed to spit out your toothpaste, you know. And to make it even more impressive, this stuff has more recently been included in treatments for clearing patients with methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus, also known as MRSA (pronounced mer-sah). This chemical is still under review by the FDA for specific safety warnings though, so please don't ingest this stuff.

So onto what everyone wants to know about this spray!

There is no odor whatsoever! Yippee! I thought it would smell like cleaning spray, to be honest. And at first I thought I detected a soft smell, but it turns out that I was just smelling what the toys smell like rather than the handsoap scent I had been using. (By the way, make sure you pick out a scent you LIKE in handsoap because that smell will be forever linked to sex toys in your mind.)

It also is thin, watery, and clear. But when you spray it, it seems to foam a bit. I don't know if that's the aeration in the spray nozzle or the cleaning going to work. Either way, I feel it helps a bit get in between grooves on a toy. I generously spritz my toy (I drench it if it's an anal toy because it makes me think it's getting cleaner even though that's all in my head), let it sit on it for anywhere between a few seconds to overnight, and eventually wash it off thoroughly. After all, if you don't want to eat this stuff, then you most certainly don't want to insert this stuff into another orifice.

It comes in a generous 128 mL (4.3 fl. oz.) skinny spray bottle. It fits anywhere I want it to because it's not a short, stout bottle. But it's not exactly discreet since it reads "TOY Cleaner" in huge, purple letters on the front. I'm pretty sure everyone will be knowing what you're cleaning. That is, unless they're very sheltered and you live in a house with children's toys.

The spray nozzle part of the toy is, thankfully, not cheap. It has never leaked, even though I store it in a container on its side. And when I squeeze the nozzle, no liquid leaks down the side either. It does have a rather wide spray area considering the small products I'm generally aiming out though. I'd much prefer it have a more pin-point spray so I felt I was wasting less of it. Though, I've been using it a lot for the weeks I've had it, I'm surprised I've only used half the bottle so far!

But I do want to end on a warning note that this spray contains plenty of chemicals and not just the one I explained earlier. Some people may react poorly to the chemicals but it's easy to avoid by setting the toy in the sink, spraying it down, and then washing it off immediately. Or perhaps on non-waterproof toys you could generously spray a cloth and wipe the toy down. Just remember to thoroughly clean it with soap and water before using the toy because if you are the type to react to the chemicals contained in this product, you don't want to stick an unwashed but chemically-spritzed toy between your legs.

Personally this cleaner has worked great for me so far, especially on my plugs. I recommend this to anyone who thinks they won't react badly to the chemicals and wants an extra step higher of sanitation in their cherished toys.
Follow-up commentary
I still very much like this cleaner. What I want to add here for those concerning this product are a few points concerning longevity.

1. This product is still "fresh" and has not acquired any strange smells since owning it.
2. I use a very generous amount on my toys each time and yet I still have some left!
3. My bottle has never leaked for me, which is impressive considering all the trips it's made.

So yes, I still very much approve of this toy cleaner as an added step in the cleaning of our beloved pleasure objects!

Thank you for including the full ingredients list. I had bought the Swiss Navy brand equivalent of this from Amazon but I am severely allergic to one of the things in it and ingredients were not listed in reviews or on the page.

It is nice to know that I can actually use this.
