So Good, So VERY Good

I have fallen in love with this product line! This balm is the best of both worlds, it's thick, rich and melts easily. It won't drip like some massage oils and stays where you put it. I highly recommend this product as a massage oil or a moisturizing lotion.

extremely useful review
After trying the foot foreplay lotion I was charged up to try the rest of the products by Intimate Organics. The guys thought it might be nice to try something different, since we have a very wide array of massage oils. We chose the massage balm and got all three scents. None of us could agree on what was the best scent, so this way we didn't have to!

The balm is pictured on the site as coming in a tube reminiscent of the foot foreplay lotion but the actual product comes in a 150 ml plastic tub with a screw top lid. This is a brilliant idea since the tub won't tip over, get rolled on, or stepped on in the resulting play. The tub is substantial, about a 3 1/2 inch diameter, is clear on the bottom showing you the creamy yellow massage balm and has a black plastic lid with a nice, discreet label. The label merely has a picture of a women's belly and a blade of lemongrass on it, it is something you could leave out on a dresser and no one will be offended. On the label is the name of the scent: Sensual, which is a blend of cocoa bean and goji berry; Relaxing, which is a blend of lemongrass and coconut; and Energizing, which is a blend of fresh orange and wild ginger, some information about the product and some warnings. All of the different balms are certified organic, paraben free, DEA free, naturally derived and pure vegan.

The balm itself should be warmed in the hands before being massaged into the skin. As you rub your palms together to warm the balm it melts into the nicest massage oil I have ever used. The base of the balm is comprised of shea butter and a blend of sweet almond oil, sunflower seed oil, coconut oil, carnauba and candilla wax. It rests on the skin without being sticky, oily or heavy. This blend also provides a superb surface for a massage to relax or invigorate. A little bit goes a long way though I found it's also great for just slathering on after a shower to soften and perfume the skin. On my crabby, rash prone skin it didn't cause any breakouts and the scent was intoxicating.

Speaking of scent, these are luscious! The Fresh orange and wild ginger smells like a mellow, warm spicy mix of fresh squeezed orange and rubbed ginger. Just the smell alone is enough to make you feel energized. It's great in the morning, after a shower to get your day started on the right note.

The lemongrass and coconut smells like a tropical drink with a bit of a heavier note of warmth. It is the very essence of sitting back and just relaxing in the sun, and ends a busy day with a satisfied sigh.

The Cocoa bean and goji berry has the most intoxicating scent for me, it's also the most complicated. It smells of warm cocoa with a kick of berry, though I could swear it smells of the very expensive cherry bark tobacco Sigel used to favor in his pipe. It is the strongest scent and may not appeal to everyone. It is very distinctive and very sensual. This will set the mood if you are into warm, very complex yet strangely subtle fragrances.

The balm washes away cleanly with soap and water leaving a subtle trace of scent and glowing, soft, moisturized skin. It doesn't stain the sheets and can be left on overnight without any irritation. I wouldn't recommend this as a lube as these products contain essential oils which could be caustic to mucous membranes, be careful around the eyes. This product is not meant to be ingested and doesn't have a good taste, though you will be tempted to try a bit as they smell sooooo good.

Sensual may contain the allergens: Benzyl salicylate, courmarin, benzyl benzoate, hexyl cinnamal, linalool.
Energizing may contain the allergens: Benzyl salicylate, citral, geraniol, hexyl cinnamal, limonene, linalool.
Relaxing may contain the allergens: Citral, coumarin, geraniol, benzyl benzoate, hexyl cinnamal, limonene, linalool.
All the allergens are naturally occuring and come as a result of the natural botanicals and essential oil extracts used in the product.
Follow-up commentary
This is still one of the very best massage oils I have ever used. One odd thing I noticed about the orange/ginger scent is it crystalized somewhat. It hasn't effected the ability of the oil to melt into a lovely surface for a massage but it takes a bit longer and if rushed can feel gritty on the skin. It is barely noticeable and hasn't deterred me from trying the whole line of products, nor will it stop me from ordering more when we run out. This stuff is A-freakin-Mazing!
