Soaring Spirit

The various scents of the oils are pleasant and non-irritating. The oil is light, spreads easily and absorbs just the right amount to allow lovely long, teasing strokes or deeper deep tissue massage. The oil lasts a good long time and is a good bargain for the price.

Pros:
Light crisp scent, good quality oil, non-irritating.
Cons:
Product is perfect in my book.

extremely useful review
I enrolled in a course of massage therapy and bought a few collections of oils offered by Eden Fantasys, one of which was the Kama Sutra collection. Since Sigel had volunteered to be my "study buddy" for the course, I tried them all out on him. By far his favorite brand of oil was Kama Sutra and his favorite scent was Soaring Spirit. So when we ran out of the smaller 2.5 oz bottle I decided to surprise him with the larger 8 oz bottle. The price was right so I placed the order with visions of lovely nights practicing my massage techniques.

The oil arrived in the timely manner I have come to appreciate from Eden Fantasys and since the bottle is very well constructed Sigel had no idea what I had bought. I told him it was for him but he'd have to wait till he got home from work to see what it was.

The bottle was quite a bit larger than I expected and fit my hand very nicely. The lid was secure and did not leak scent even after I removed the seal. This was very appreciated as Sigel has very sensitive sinuses. Since we had already used the oils before I knew they would not cause skin irritation, even if left on over night, and it didn't stain the sheets on the bed. We don't use satin sheets, though, so I can't speak as to whether they would stain those. Even when used on the face this oil doesn't cause breakouts or rashes, very nice since my whole family has terribly sensitive skin. The scent of Soaring Spirit is invigorating rather than relaxing and is great for an erotic massage as it leaves you feeling tingly and energized.

Later that night Sigel wandered into the bedroom for my nightly "homework" and the smile on his face was lovely to see when he smelled the oil on my hands. He knew we were out of the smaller bottle and was very happy to see the amount in the larger one!

This oil is easily warmed and very light, it is not sticky and absorbs just the right amount to allow either a light teasing stroke or a deep tissue manipulation, this oil doesn't require a great deal to provide the proper surface for a good massage. It doesn't become stringy with rubbing and leaves a pleasantly warm feeling to the muscles. It doesn't irritate the skin. The scent is powerful without burning the sinuses and lifts the spirit of both the massager and the recipient.

As you can tell by now I totally recommend this oil for anyone who likes to stroke and touch their partner. It is also wonderful for dry skin and the scent mingles wonderfully leading to many compliments on my "perfume". It soothes dry rough elbows and heels marvelously and keeps my hands soft and pleasant to touch. I use it after I shave my legs to sooth the skin and add needed moisture to my chronically dry skin. My kids love it when I soothe a sore muscle or dry skin on their bodies and it doesn't irritate their skin. If you are looking for a good quality oil for just about everything that body oil is used for then Sensual Massage Oil by Kama Sutra should be at the top of your list!
Follow-up commentary
I still love, love , LOVE this line of products and this oil is one that we have ordered more of recently! It is perfect for any type of massage and gentle enough not to irritate even the most sensitive of skin. I have used it for aromatherapy, all types of massage, to soothe dry skin, and on cotton balls to scent a room or drawer. It is also wonderful in sachets or on potpourri! It isn't wildly expensive and a little goes a long, long way. It maintains lubricity and warms the skin by bringing the blood to the surface making sore, aching muscles just melt into relaxation.

How would you compare this to the Sensuous oil you reviewed earlier?

I find myself using my massage oil for my elbows and heels every day too - it's so much better than lotion. It's funny to me because a few have pheromones in them and I'm amused at the thought of having "sexy" smooth feet for the grocery store Winking Oh - and using right after you shave = awesome.

The sensuous oil is very good quality and is extremely well priced but it is heavier and doesn't absorb as easily as the Kama Sutra oils. It has a heavier vanilla/spice fragrance as well and I find the Kama Sutra oils to be easier on the sinuses. I use the sensuous oil for more erotic type of massage though as it is spicier and leaves a warm feeling in the muscles where the Soaring Spirit oil is more refreshing.
Kinda depends on the mood and the subject of the rub down. Sigel prefers minty and Arch prefers vanilla, where I prefer spicy or orange-y scents.
I have built up a rather wide selection of oils at this point and am still trying more so I'll report on each and every one as I get my greedy little mitts on them!

Heh as the lucky recipient of the attentions of a genuine foot fetishist the pheremone oils get a very nice reaction when I use them as moisturizer! He also loves the edible oils...though like my cunnilinguist he prefers "natural" smells and tastes better, still they both admit that sometimes a bit of different flavor is nice. >Smile

Wearing sandals and peremone oils on the feet might be loads of fun when dragging him shopping....must give that a try!

Good review. I've never tried out any of the Karma Sutra products. I want to at some point - I just can never justify spending that much money on them. Thanks for the review, though.

  • Sensual Massage Oil- What the heck do they smell like?
    • Sensual Massage oil has a nice little selection of scents...
Here's the problem- There are 5 scents to choose from, but no way to know what each one smells like! There is no description of any kind! And most of the names (Pleasure Garden, Healing Blend, Serenity and soaring Spirit) give no hint as to what scents they include!
Does anyone know of a website/page that describes each scent option better than EF's product page?

You could read the reviews people have posted.. 23 reviews in total that offer a lot of insight into the product and what it smells like :)

Ah, you're right! I read the first 3 reviews that had been posted on this product, and was discouraged when they didn't describe all 5 scents. After reading your response, I decided to go through and read every review for this product, in search of descriptions.

      "~Purple- Healing Blend
"Rich blend of essential oils for soothing muscles and restoring harmony."
This scent is very relaxing and warm. This is a great scent for when you want to relax and unwind. It has elemi, clary sage, clove, and nutmeg. It's a warm and sensuous nutmeg/clove scent. It makes you feel warm and sleepy.
      ~Turquoise- Soaring Spirit
"Invigorating blend of pure essential oils to energize and refresh."
This scent contains scent notes of citrus, geranium, ginger and fennel. This scent makes you feel clean and awake! To me it smells like strong peppermint.
      ~Orange- Sweet Almond
"Sensual combination of calming oils for relaxation and de-stressing."
This one smells exactly like almond extract. I love that smell! It contains the oils of sweet almonds, vitamin E, and skin smoothing emollients.
      ~Green- Pleasure Garden
"Aromatic mix of pure essential oils for sensual and seductive intimacy."
This one contains oils from Italian bergamot, ylang ylang, neroli, rose, lavender, and sandalwood. To me it smells like a sexy blend of sandalwood and lavender. It's very warm and cozy.
      ~Blue- Serenity
"Soothing mixture of pure essential oils for quieting body and soul."
It contains oils from warm cedar, sweet marjoram, orange, and lavender. I think this one smells the lightest and kinda smells like a mix of sweet almond and healing blend. It doesn't smell unique. It's a very relaxing scent and it's the lightest."

"The sweet almond is the most simple of the oils. While the Pleasure Garden is italian jasmine, rose, lavender and sandalwood; the Soaring Spirit is fruity with orange, lemon, peppermint, spearmint, geranium, ginger and fennel; and the Healing Blend is more of a woodsy smell with lavender, cardamom, rosemary, marjoram, elemi, clary sage, black pepper, clove, nutmeg, juniper and pine."

I wanted to share those two descriptions, in case someone else is wondering what they smell like and (like me) doesn't think to read through ALL the reviews for a description. :)
