Sometimes, Natural isn't Better
While the Intimate Organics Intense gel did give me some extra stimulation it wasn't enough to be considered intense and needed frequent reapplication to sustain the feeling. Best for those who like only natural products, are vegan or are looking for mild stimulation and sensation.Published: February 13, 2010
Pros:
Mostly natural ingredients, no glycerin, parabens or l-argentine, mild stimulation
Cons:
Mild stimulation may not be enough for those who are looking for intense
Have we discussed my weakness for all things lotiony, potiony and lubey? Mmmhhmm... I thought so.
That weakness, and my liking for the Shunga Secret Garden clitoral stimulating gel I tried recently, led me to giving this Intimate Organics gel a shot. Call it curiousity of the cat killing kind if you must but I cannot be satisfied with a product that works. I have to try others to see how they compare.
In this instance I have to admit disappointment.
Intimate Organics does a fairly good job of keeping the bulk of their products natural with some organic ingredients. Most times, that's a good thing. This time, not so much. Intimate Organics avoids the ingredients L-Arginine and L-Ornithine, which tend to be the ones that make a stimulating clitoral product really work for me. They increase blood circulation and make the area where they are applied more sensitive but are also trigger ingredients for some, bad for pregnant women and those with genital herpes. Intimate Organics relies, instead, on mostly peppermint oil to give a bit of tingle.
And it does. I can't say it doesn't give a bit of extra stimulation. Upon application you get a very slight, mild tingling. Unfortunately, this rapidly fades and does not leave the flesh feeling stimulated once the tingling stops, forcing you to apply more for more results.
Overall, I think Intimate Organics Intense gel is decent but in no way intense and about on par with most warming/tingling lubes -- not nearly focused and intense enough to really be considered a good clitoral gel unless you're looking for very mild sensations.
It comes in a one ounce tube with a twist off cap and is quite thin. Moving fast to get the gel from finger to clit is essential or it will drip off your finger. Applying directly to the clit and then rubbing it in works better. It's not sticky, not tacky or gloopy and dries without leaving a film. It has a faint peppermint scent but I did not taste it. I try to do thorough reviews but, sorry, folks, the last time I stuck a warming or cooling lube on my tongue I regretted it for hours.
This gel is paraben and glycerin free, vegan with some organic ingredients so while it's not super for me, if you like mild sensations and a natural product, this may be wonderful for you.

My opinion of the Intimate Organics Intense gel has only gotten worse. It's relatively useless and cannot compare to product like the Shunga Secret Garden or Lust for the Double O cream.
Don't bother. It's the only IO product I've not liked but I truly do NOT like it and it is NOT intense. At all.

Is it sad when ur 18 and need lube?

No, I think it's such a myth that women automatically get wet whenever they're turned on. Unfortunately it's something a lot of us don't talk about because we initially think something's wrong with us and we feel kind of alone.
I love Betty Dodson's response to this same question. Ever since I listened to this podcast, I just automatically grab the lube whenever I'm going to have sex, whether alone or with someone. It just makes things a whole lot more enjoyable.

And here's a written response to a 21 year old with the same question, if you want a little more info:

Lord, no. I think it would be worse to put yourself in pain to try and act like you think you "should" than to use lube and be comfortable. I always need lube with silicone toys, mostly because of the texture. Glass depends on the situation, and any time I use a condom, I need a bit more lube. It's just how bodies work.
Nothing is wrong with you. Don't let anybody tell you something's wrong with you. Just have fun with it!
