Sticky Honey of Love

The Satori Oil of Love is a little on the sticky side, but still provides great flavor and pleasant heating sensations as it is rubbed across the body. I gave my boyfriend a great back massage using this oil and we both enjoyed it, even if cleanup was a bit of a hassle. It's more like honey than anything else!

extremely useful review
Satori Oil of Love comes in a little black and white cardboard box with distinctly European art on the front panel. My box seemed to have been a little beat up in shipping, but nothing too bad. I opened the lid to find a second lid that nests around the tiny neck of the bottle (the minuscule space between the bottle top and the rotund body). It would seem that this second piece of cardboard keeps the bottle from moving around too much inside the box. Clever.

I removed the bottle from its box and took a moment to admire its design. The bottle is most definitely made out of plastic, so no worries about it shattering if dropped accidentally. However, its equator is decorated with a frosted band that says "Satori", achieving a sanded glass look which I find rather classy. The bottle's shape is almost perfectly spherical as is its black cap.

Unscrewing the cap, I found a little rubber stopper which makes sense if you think about the messes oil makes and how easily it seems to sneak out of the bottle. Tugging out the cap for the first time took a few minutes, but ever after it's been a bit easier. I poured a little bit out onto my hand and rubbed it between my palms. The oil definitely has a sticky texture to it, almost like honey (but not caramel). I rubbed my palms a little faster and felt the oil heat up. I blew on one of my palms and felt the temperature go up even further.

I took an experimental whiff of the champagne flavored oil and was pleasantly unsurprised that it smelled just like champagne, a little sweet with tangy undertones. I licked my palm and liked the flavor so much that I couldn’t stop licking! I felt like a little kitten licking her paws clean of syrup. There is no bad aftertaste at all. It's just a subtly sweet, slightly tangy, very yummy taste.

I took the oil home with me on a weekend when I was visiting my boyfriend. I was careful to not make a mess and dribbled the oil slowly onto his skin, and he commented on how cold it felt. Once I started to rub the oil across his back in slow circles, though, it started to warm up. I wondered how hot it could get, so I experimentally rubbed it in a circle as fast as I could. Even as it heated up exponentially, the slightly tacky texture did not become more fluid. It almost seems as though that friction makes it easier for the oil to heat up when rubbed across the body. And it DOES heat up—a LOT.

For massage purposes, this oil worked fine. It is much stickier than the massage oils and creams I am used to, which are greasier/more slippery in texture. A benefit of Satori Oil of Love is that its stickiness keeps me from slipping when massaging my boyfriend with harder to control body parts, like my elbows (try this on a lover or a friend, but lightly at first! It feels great!), and accidentally hitting his spine. However, there are drawbacks to the stickiness as well, since it means that I have to reapply the oil more often and I tend to chafe and snag on his skin more often. Furthermore, this may NOT be an ideal oil to use on your fuzzier friends. My boyfriend has a healthy amount of back fuzz, and coupled with sticky honey oil, I was a little less than enthused to lick him clean. I was afraid of what would happen if he lay on his back after our massage session—lint stuck to his back? Sheets glued to each other?—so I sent him to the shower to clean off. The oil washes off easily with just water, but a little soap helps too if you want to be thorough.

The product description says that this product is oil-based, so do not use with condoms, as oil will degrade latex. It also contains glycerin and flavoring, so only use it vaginally if you’re sure you’re up to it. Personally, I’m not going to take that risk. I am a big fan of massages, as is my boyfriend, so for the time being, this yummy, sticky honey of love will be used as a massage oil only.

Hmm... According to another description of the product I found, the bottle is apparently glass. I'd swear it was plastic, but I could be wrong--glass it is then! It still doesn't break when I drop it... Maybe if I dropped it on concrete?

I guess that you could apply this oil to your boyfriend's back, massage him for a while and then roll him in sprinkles or crushed candy and lick it off?

Heehee--that sounds like a pretty sweet idea! Get it? Sweet...candy... yeah.

So... I'm thinking some Honey Dust or even Pixie Stick. I'll see if he's up to trying it in the kitchen (I'm a neat freak when it comes to the bedroom) and report back if he says yes.
