When the candle arrived it was perfectly packaged! There was enough bubble wrap around it to keep it from shifting during shipping. Once I removed the wrapping, I noticed that there was a band of tape around the joint of the lid and tin. As soon as I removed the tape I could smell this amazingly relaxing scent of black cherry! I could not resist, and had to open it at once! The scent did not get too much stronger. Inside it looks like an ordinary white wax candle, with a little white plastic spoon inside. (Note: the wax is "greasy" if you touch it.)

My boyfriend and I could not wait to try it out! We lit the candle and sat in the dark, taking in the wonderfully rich yet subtle scent of black cherries, as it wafted over us. I decided to use it on him first. Taking the spoon I ladled out just a little of the melted oil onto his back. Then I used my fingers to slowly fan out the oil as I massaged his muscles. I found that the wax did not clump or get sticky as it cooled and that a little went a long way.

He used it on me next. I noticed that the wax went on warm, but not too hot. It stayed warm until it was spread out thinly and the massaging stopped. The wonderful scent lasted for a while, but was never too strong, harsh, nor obtrusive. The scent just hung in the background and complimented everything.

The only thing I wish would have been different, was the length of time that the warmth lasted. It would have been nice had the oil stayed warm longer, and continued to relax my muscles even after the massaging had stopped.

I can't say enough about the scent of this candle. I am very sensitive to certain kinds of smells and this one is SO soothing! Too bad I can’t take it everywhere with me, and inhale it's fragrance all day long!
