Sweet Mint, Strawberry Sorbet and Summer Fruit

The Eos organic lip balm is a fabulous option for keeping your lips moisturized and feeling great. It's lightweight, tastes good and smells even better! It will last for hours if you don't lick your lips too much but reapplication is a snap with the cute little egg-shaped container that contains the ball of balm. All natural lip balm is definitely worth a try, especially when it's affordable and will last you a good long time.

Use

The Organic Lip Balm by Evolution of Smooth, or more commonly known as Eos, is a natural, moisturizing and lightly flavored balm that can be used on just about anyone. The real selling point for some will be that this lip balm is gluten free. This means those individuals with Celiac's Disease will not have to worry about accidentally ingesting gluten from their lip balm when licking their lips. Just be forewarned that the Lemon flavor has sun block in it. If that's something you want to avoid just choose a different flavor.

Ingredients:

Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil*, Beeswax (Cire D'abeille)*, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil*, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil*, Natural Flavor, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter)*, Stevia Rebaudiana Leaf/Stem Extract*, Tocopherol, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil*, Vaccinium Angustifolium (Blueberry) Fruit Extract*, Fragaria Vesca (Strawberry) Fruit Extract*, Prunus Persica (Peach) Fruit Extract*, Linalool.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

This lip balm is lightweight and rich, not overly waxy feeling when applied. It is very easy to glide this on and it lasts a fairly long time. After eating, drinking, smoking, licking lips or wiping with a napkin you will need to reapply.

Having used Chapstick in the past I found that the Eos lip balm has more lasting power, especially if it is applied right before going to bed.

This balm is not heavy or waxy like Chapstick but thinner and more pleasantly flavored and scented.

Taste / Aroma

Sweet Mint: The sweet mint tastes exactly how it sounds. It's a nice sweetened mint, not a burning or overpowering flavor and it has a little bit of a tingle when first applied. The tingle doesn't hang around longer than say five minutes or so after application but the flavor does. The sweet mint smells very minty but sweet unlike a peppermint candy.

Strawberry Sorbet: The strawberry sorbet tastes like a creamy strawberry smoothie and is very pleasant when applied. It may be a little too much on the sweet side for some. This one smells very much like sweet strawberries and cream and is a pleasant scent, not overpowering.

Summer Fruit: The summer fruit tastes like a mix of different fruits, although a specific fruit flavor can't be discerned. It is not overly fruity in taste but it is a very appealing flavor. The summer fruit smells like a mix of blueberry, strawberry and peach. It's easy to smell each one but the blueberry definitely stands out the most.

None of these flavors left a strange aftertaste after applying and wearing a while which will be a plus for many.

Performance

This lip balm is very natural and rich and I find that I do not have to reapply as often as the Chapstick I was using before. The moisturizing effect this lip balm has on my lips is amazing. It definitely lasts longer so my lips stay soft and kissably smooth for hours after application.

Eos lip balm doesn't dry out quickly or get sticky but instead absorbs nicely into the skin of your lips so they stay moisturized for a long time.

If you're concerned about allergic reactions make sure you read and research the ingredients list.

The ball of lip balm after prolonged use will form to your lips but before that you might need to be creative in how you apply this lip balm since it is perfectly round when you first get it.

    • Absorbs into skin nicely
    • Long lasting

Packaging

This lip balm comes in a small somewhat egg-shaped container that twists open to reveal the ball of balm inside. The Eos logo is printed on both the top and bottom of the container and there is a small indentation in the shape of an almost oval for easy finger gripping while opening.

The container is nicely designed and very cute but it is difficult to fit it in a pocket unless you normally have cargo pockets. It does have the benefit of being able to toss it in a purse or bag without having to worry about the balm being turned up too far and becoming a mess since there is no dial for dispensing.

The Sweet Mint comes in a light green container, the Strawberry Sorbet comes in a pink one and the Summer Fruit comes in a red container.

Special Features

Eos lip balm is all natural, organic and gluten-free as well as not tested on animals. The Sweet Mint flavor contains a tingle and the Lemon flavor contains sun block.

Personal comments

I was happy to find an all natural lip balm that I could feel safe using all the time.

Experience

When I first picked up some Eos lip balm I wasn't sure how well it was going to work since I've never had any luck with Burt's Bees and other similar natural lip products. I was very pleasantly surprised to find out that this lip balm is just what I've been looking for. It's natural, gluten free, not tested on animals and it tastes, feels and smells great! I've since stopped using Chapstick after finding out it was not gluten free and the Eos lip balm is my new favorite.
Follow-up commentary
This is probably the best lip balm I've ever used. We still use many of these in all sorts of flavors, Tangerine being the newest for us. My Sweet Mint flavor is still going strong and hasn't run out yet, even with regular use.
