Sweet, Soft, Scented Skin

Like most creams, Body Souffle leaves your skin feeling soft and smelling good. Unlike most, it also leaves a pleasant flavour.

Pros:
Texture, scent, and taste.
Cons:
Doesn't work well for massage as the label suggests.

Use

This is perfect to use when you know your body is going to be kissed or licked. It also makes a great every-day moisturizer. The packaging says that it's designed for sensual massage, but I don't think it works very well for that purpose.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

Body Souffle has a creamy, silky texture. It absorbs well and isn't sticky or greasy. My skin feels soft and smooth, but dry to the touch with no residue left behind. I was expecting it to be a lot like body butter, but it's lighter. If you have very dry skin you would probably prefer something richer and more emollient. Since it absorbs into the skin so well, it doesn't work well for massage. It's not slippery enough and would require a lot of re-application.
    • Creamy
    • Velvety

Taste / Aroma

I have the French Vanilla Creme flavour. It smells like vanilla frosting. I would prefer a more natural scent, like vanilla beans rather than cupcakes, but I still like it. The scent is fairly strong- noticeable but not too much. The flavour is more subtle, the skin just tastes slightly sweet. It's not the type of product you would put on with the intention of licking it off, like a chocolate body paint. It's more that if it does get into someone's mouth, it will taste sweet rather than unpleasant and chemical like most moisturizers. When I dip my finger into the jar and taste it, there's a bit of a chemical flavour and the texture makes my tongue feel strange, but when licked off the skin it doesn't have this problem.
    • Light taste
    • Smells good

Performance

As a massage product it is not long lasting or slick enough and absorbs into the skin within minutes. As a body cream the scent, flavour and moisturizing effect last until I shower it off the next day, although the scent and flavour seem to fade after several hours.

Packaging

The packaging is functional and attractive. Enclosed in a thin cardboard box is a plastic, screw-cap jar. It is wide and shallow which makes it easy to dip out product with your fingers. The jar comes with foil covering the opening so you don't need to worry about it leaking during shipping.
    • Does not leak
    • Easy to use / dispense
    • Would make a nice gift

Personal comments

I have very sensitive skin. A lot of scented products irritate me, especially if I use them on my legs after shaving. I had no problem using Body Souffle.

Here is the list of ingredients:
Water (Aqua/Eau), Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Cetyl Alcohol, Glyceryl Stearate, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Glycerin, Dimethicone, Cetearyl Alcohol, Flavor (Aroma), Polyacrimade, C13-14 Isoparrafin, Laureth-7, PEG-100 Stearate, Carbomer, Sodium Saccharin, Sodium Hydroxide, Potassium SOrbate, Tertrasodium EDTA, Phenoxyethanol, Yellow 5 (CI 19140), Yellow 6 (CI 15985).
Follow-up commentary
I don't usually use moisturizer but I've been using this on a regular basis lately. With winter coming my skin is starting to get a bit drier, especially on my legs. I like how the body souffle doesn't feel heavy or greasy like my body butter does, and that the scent doesn't irritate my skin or my nose. The sweet taste is just a bonus. I think I might get the chocolate flavour when this runs out.
