Complete care hand and body lotion - body moisturizer discontinued by Evolution of Smooth - review by SourAppleMartini

The skin on my body is extremely dry and scaly, so moisturizing on a daily basis is a must. I find that the majority of the moisturizers fail to provide sufficient hydration so I usually stick to thicker body butters. The problems with body butters however, is that they can be sticky and take forever to soak in which is inconvenient when I want to take a shower in the morning. I have purchased this lotion because I wanted a good moisturizer that sinks in fast.

This lotion is not thick as a body butter but it is not particularly runny either. Texture wise it is light and creamy. When applied to the skin, it soaks in within seconds leaving my skin soft and perfectly moisturized for hours. You don’t need a lot of product to cover a whole body, so a 12-ounce bottle can last a long time.

It is hard to describe the smell. It is buttery with a hint of chocolate and is certainly pleasant. Once applied to the skin, the smell disappears straight away. This is good for those who like to wear a fragrance or don’t like smelling like baked goods.

I feel that this lotion does a great job hydrating my skin. When I take a shower in the evening, I can still feel the sleekness of the lotion applied in the morning. I am prone to allergies but this lotion has not caused any skin problems for me.

The lotion comes in a simple bottle with a pump dispenser. The design is not particularly exciting, especially if you compare it with other products from Eos such as their spherical lip balms or rounded hand cream bottles. I don’t like sticking my fingers into jars or squeezing tubes while my hand are covered in lotion, so this packaging is convenient. The quality of the pump is good. With some thicker lotions, dispensing product through a pump can be difficult, but I had zero problems with this lotion.

Evolution of Smooth claims that their products are mainly made from natural ingredients and contain no harmful chemicals. This particular lotion is 90% natural and has not been tested on animals.

The ingredients are as follows: Water, Soybean Oil, Mineral Oil, Dimethicone, Coco Glucoside, Glyceryl Stearate, Petrolatum, Glycerin, Cetearyl Alcohol, Sodium Stearyl Lactylate, Coconut Oil, Shea Butter , Aloe Vera Leaf Juice, Oat Kernel Extract, Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Fragrance (Parfum), Carbomer, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone, DMDM Hydantoin, Sodium Hydroxide, Butylphenyl Methlyproprional, Coumarin, Hexyl Cinnamal, Limonene, Linalool.

I am aware that most people don’t particularly care about ingredients in their cosmetic products, but I believe that it is important to at least avoid parabens in your body lotion and deodorant. Studies show that parabens are found in breast tumors of breast cancer patients. You do the math.

The only thing that stops me from re-ordering the lotion is the price. I know that you can get it from about 7 dollars in US, but I live in Australia and the prices here are ridiculous. It would cost me over 25 dollars for one bottle and this is way more than I am willing to spend on a body product. Otherwise go and get it.
