That? Oh, that's my BACK massager (yeah, right!)

Loud and proud; crank your tunes when you use it or tell your room mates to crank theirs but this is one heavy duty massager that'll pulse the grumpy right out of your day everytime. If you have never experienced ejaculation with orgasm, I suggest you give this vibrator a go.
Published: October 11, 2010
Pros:
Produces the most earth shattering, squirting orgasms I have ever had - nuff said.
Cons:
It plugs into a wall so unfortunately I can't take it camping; might be too powerful for some.

Use

It is said that the Hitachi Magic Wand doubles as both a personal massager for those tired, sore muscles we all have as well as an extremely effective clitoral stimulator.

My money and my wand are on the latter and have been ever since I made this purchase. I can see how this extremely powerful (you plug it into the wall kind of powerful) massager could be used on other body parts, but I prefer someone else's hands on me for that sort of thing.

This wand belongs on my clit and labia and that's where it goes to provide deep and strong (as in jackhammer strong) vibrations that course through my entire body. So, I guess in that way it is a body massager :)

The Hitachi Magic Wand can be paired up with a few different attachments to provide internal and external stimulation such as with the Gee Whizzard, a silicone attachment which features a nubby, clitoral stimulating edge as well as curved and bumpy 5 inch shaft to hit your g-spot and provide vaginal stimulation. Looking for a smooth attachment? I suggest the Gee Whiz. Note: both of these attachments by Vixen Creations are currently out of stock - set those product alerts now.

There are a few other companies that also make attachments compatible for spring-loaded massagers like the Hitachi, do a little research on Eden Fantasys to find what you're looking for.

Material / Texture

The Hitachi Magic Wand is made of smooth plastic along the length of the 9 inch handle. The ball which actually presses against your clitoris, is smooth to the touch but if you look closely, there are miniature ridges all over this part though you can't feel them.

There is also a deep groove in the middle of the ball and you will feel this if you rub that part against your body.

There is no smell to this product, it is latex free, hypoallergenic, phthlates free and non-porous. I would suggest the texture of this material is suitable for all users, however the power it packs may be another story! (see functions/performance/control section)

Design / Shape / Size

Upon first glance of this product, I would not think sex toy. It is totally believable that it is a body massager, there is really nothing that screams 'sexy' to me at all in appearance.

This is a large, white, plastic microphone-shaped toy with a six foot cord that plugs into the wall. The entire product is twelve inches long; the handle is nine inches, the blue spring form piece that attaches the ball to the handle takes up just over one inch and finally the ball itself is 2 1/2 inches in diameter and 7 inches circumference at its widest around the middle.

This wand must weigh a few pounds. It is bulky and heavy to hold - more so if you are attempting to hold it over your head and massage your neck and back and less so if you are laying down with the weight of it pressing on your body.

The handle is long enough that you can lay back comfortably and easily reach your clitoris to stimulate.

In the middle of the handle is the power switch and you click it side to side for the two different power levels. The lower side is marked L, the higher side marked H with a red dot on that side of the switch. Red for go? Hmmm, in this case I would say YES!

Functions / Performance / Controls

The primary function of the Hitachi Magic Wand is as a massager; where you massage with it is up to you. It is highly effective and provides deep, pulsing vibrations to the targeted area because the vibration is so strong. This product does have a six foot cord and plug so you do need to be within reach of an electrical outlet.

There are two vibrations levels; strong and super-size-me strong. The switch is located in the middle of the handle - click it down for LOW and up for HIGH. To turn off, let it sit in the neutral position.

I find the switch very easy to use, the wand itself can tire my hand out before I am done with it at times though because the vibrations throughout the handle are so intense.

I have hardly used it to massage anything other than my clit and labia. Although I do have chronic neck and shoulder pain, I would find the magic wand too cumbersome to hold for long when attempting to massage those areas. And that is SO NOT WHY I BOUGHT IT IN THE FIRST PLACE.

For clitoral stimulation, this massager is A plus. The stimulation is deeper than any I have ever felt and my orgasms are insane. This is the most incredible vibrator I have ever used and I will be purchasing attachments for it. I'm not sure if I will be able to handle internal and external stimulation at the same time, but I am definitely going to try.
    • Easy to use
    • Lots of variety in function
    • Not discreet at all

Care and Maintenance

For cleanup, I suggest toy cleaner or an alcohol swab. Soap and water can be employed but be careful as this toy is not waterproof. I would not run water over it as if it gets inside it could damage the motor. UNPLUG THIS VIBRATOR WHEN CLEANING AND DO NOT USE IN OR NEAR WATER or you may electrocute yourself.

My magic wand is primarily just for me although I have shared a few times and put a condom on the head both times. Unless you are fluid-bonded, I do not recommend sharing toys without using condoms. It just makes sense.

Most folks I know store their magic wand close by the bed. You can use any lube with the Hitachi, my preference for my body is water-based so that's what I use.
    • Easy to clean
    • Easy to store

Packaging

The Hitachi Magic Wand vibrator comes in a cardboard box. This is a fairly unassuming product and the packaging matches.
    • Discreet looking packaging
    • Minimal

Personal comments

Hold onto your hats fellas, she's gonna blow. I'm not sure I need to say more than that, but I will. This vibrator is loud but completely dependable and I squirt farthest when I use this toy. And that's on LOW.

I like to go back and forth between HIGH and LOW til I can't take it anymore. This toy is fantastic for forced orgasm play, it does actually make me go numb the vibration is that intense. And I'm sure I continue to play with it long after I should have turned it off, I can't help myself.

This is a multiple-orgasm, squirt inducing vibrator. Cult following? Oh yeah - Rocky Horror Picture show has nothing on this baby.

I would also like to note at $45.99 this is a screaming deal (pun completely intended).
Follow-up commentary
Two great things have happened since I first reviewed the Hitachi.

1) I tried it out to massage my neck. Though the magic wand is somewhat heavy, when your muscles are tight and aching, the intense pulse of the wand really helps. Use a fave massage oil, put in some ear plugs to help drown out the noise of the wand and press or run it over the ouchy spots. I will always prefer the hitachi for orgasm, but great to know it really can massage other parts. The deep, rumbly vibration works those knots out and the length of the wand helps us get at those hard to reach spots.

2) Speaking of orgasm, I just tried the hitachi out with a g-tip attachment (see my review Hot Damn!) This combination is completely thrilling and brings the power of the Hitachi Magic Wand inside your body and your G spot. I keep coming back to the word intense and I stand by that word to describe the experience of the magic wand alone or with an attachment.

To know there are products like this that exist solely for our pleasure, makes me smile. If you know anyone that struggles with climax, I suggest the Hitachi for a life changing experience.

  • Good alternative to Hitachi?
    • I had a rechargeable mini fairy wand, but last week it ended up breaking, and now I'm desperately looking for a similar type wand massager. I've looked at a couple, but I'd really like some input on which massager people are recommending. Thanks!
    • I have 3 wand massagers that I use at times. There are things I love and hate about all of them. The hitachi is the most powerful one, but it is so loud! The Wahl 2 speed is also great. It is the quietest and I love how rumbly the vibes are! But none of the attachments are quite right for me. If I could only have one wand I would get Inspire. It has a button that you press and release when the power is at your desired strength. In stead of just 2 speeds like the hitachi or the wahl you have control over how much power you want to use. The Inspire has a detachable silicone head. My complaints are that it gets hot after about 20 minutes, at at the higher speeds it gets pretty loud. Your toy was rechargable, but the wands I listed all plug in and have more power. Good luck with your replacement!

Ooh, thanks! Yeah, the rechargeable wands tend to get really hot too, plus it would die after 20-30 minutes, so I needed to stay near an outlet at all times. Noise isn't really an issue for me (at least not right now). The one I had before had an adjustable wheel for vibration intensity, but to be honest, I always turned it all the way up and never changed it, so maybe I don't really need adjustable speeds.

I've never tried any of the detachable heads. Are they worth buying?

  • Will it be out of stock until the sale is over?
    • Ekk! It is out of stock again! I keep missing it. I finally have enough to buy it but I guess the discount made it sell like crazy. Does it typically not come back in until the sale is over?

Panicing a bit because I'm moving soon and will need to purchase it within the next week.
    • You can open a support ticket from your account dashboard to ask about it. If they know when it'll be coming in they'll be happy to tell you.

  • Strength
    • Are there any stronger vibrators out there?
    • Quote: Are there any stronger vibrators out there?
Probably not for less than fifty dollars. A friend of mine is saving for the Sybian or The Rock Box. I can't speak from experience about either of those vibrators though. However, if you want something similar to the Hitachi, I would suggest either The Wahl or a Fairy Wand. I own the Hitachi, Wahl, and Fairy Mini but highly suggest the Wahl. It is the most rumbly of the three and is nearly silent.

I think the Hitachi is the strongest vibe i know of.

  • Hitachi Wand Vs. Acyvube
    • Is the hitachi better than the acuvibe for anyone who has had the chance to try both? I'm under the impression that they are essentially the same thing but maybe I'm wrong...
    • I have had both, and they are really both very good toys. The main difference really is that the Acuvibe is rechargeable and can be used cordless, while the Hitachi must plug in to work. Personally, I think that the Hitachi is slightly stronger, and it has definitely outlasted my Acuvibes - I have had two, and they both broke down after about six months or so.

We are going on 3+ years on the acuvibe. The shell is starting to crack but it still functions great, I just wanted to know if we should switch when I do want to buy a new one. More powerful sounds good :)

  • The Size !!!!!!!
    • Does the size get in the way ??????? It's so BIGGGGGG........
    • In the way of what, exactly? It's not really a toy for couples play and actually it's not even designed for masturbation but has become the Holy Grail of vibrators through decades of word of mouth.
    • Quote: Does the size get in the way ??????? It's so BIGGGGGG........
It's really only meant for external use. So if you are talking about insertion it probably would be a bit big.

    • There are a few. If you search the site you can find a couple.
    • Quote: Is there a head set for universal attatchments anyone knows of?
I don't know if I understand the question, but the attachment we bought for our Hitachi is a "universal" attachment that we bought from another store. It's too "floppy" for me, but is a nice g-spot attachment, or would be if it was a little stiffer!

  • Bullet Vibes that rival the Hitachi Magic Wand
    • Hello, everyone!

Recently I've sold my Hitachi to a friend, and I've been on the market for a new clit vibe. I'm one of those girls who has a "clit-o-steel&quo t;, so I can't really get off unless I have something powerful on my clit. I bought a LAYAspot by FunFactory, thinking it would be a nice, powerful bullet to use when I'm with my partner, and I realized that it barely even packs a punch!

I guess I'm being a bit picky. I don't want something that's as strong as the Hitachi's HIGH setting, but something kind of inbetween the two, one that has a few nice, strong modes.

I was looking at the more expensive clit vibes- JeJoue's MiMi and Lelo's Siri. Do you think that they would be strong enough? Do you recommend anything? Thanks guys!

U had the flexi anal rod prior to the Hitachi..It is strong as well, and it probably right between the hitachi hi and low... I actually prefer the two setting on Hitach..SHIT and OHH SHIT.. The flexi rod has about 4 if i'm not mistaken..Plus it is flexible as well.. Costs about 25.00

Its on a review of mine already..

    • This is by far the best purchase I've made. My wife has a tough time reaching orgasm and needs the intense vibrations for her to climax. The Hitachi far exceeds this task, she doesn't use any other toy now, always reaches for the Hitachi. Just need to get her the G-spot attachment and she is set up. Thanks again.
    • I completely agree. The Magic Wand is the best vibrator ever.

  • Have you ever used a wand?
    • HI I was wondering if you have ever used anything like the Fairy Wand? I have used the baby fairy wand but its tiny... the size of the larger ones kind of intimidate me ... what are your thoughts on them and should I get one?
    • I dislike most of them intensely. They're too strong, too big and they make my whole vulva - as well as my hands - feel numb.

      Many folks love them, though!
    • I used the Wanachi Mini, which I really liked. Unfortunately it fell apart, it seems mine wasn't the only one either. I did contact Pipedream though and they seem eager to correct this problem!
