The Bathroom Birth of Venus

Emerge from your bathtub feeling like a goddess. This bath salt will make you feel much like Venus, the goddess of love, who was born from the ocean. This bath salt is elegant, has the most relaxing scent I've ever had the pleasure of smelling, turns bath water a sea blue color, and leaves your skin soothed and silky soft. This isn't just for lovers. Anyone who enjoys a bath will love this product.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

The texture of the bath salt is finer than most other bath salts. It is blue and has little white flecks in it. When in the bath, it leaves your skin feeling moisturized and luxurious. The bath salt comes with an adorable little seashell scoop for easy dispensing. After the bath, there is no residue left in the bathtub or on the skin.

Taste / Aroma

This has to be one of the most relaxing and soothing scents I've ever had the chance to smell. It is original and very unique. It's hard to explain this incredible scent. It smells very aquatic, with a tiny hint of mint. It is a very cool and calming scent, but will leave you feeling fully refreshed. The fragrance isn't overpowering. It lightly clings to your skin for hours afterward to extend the blissful experience. In fact, I can't get enough of this amazing scent.

Performance

When your pour this into your bathtub, the water turns a beautiful ocean blue. It makes the water slightly cloudy, but in an appealing way. There are little blue flecks that float around but eventually dissolve. The little white pieces sink to the bottom and dissolve as well. They remind me of tiny rocks. The calming blue color made my bath even more relaxing, as blue is known to be a soothing color. After using my body wash, the soap on the top of the water reminded me of ocean foam. I made sure to grab my little duckies so they could take part in all the fun. For each bath, I used about 4 scoops of the salt. It seems as if this will last for over 15-20 uses. You can use as much or as little as you want. I always dump a whole bunch of whatever I'm using into by baths.

After my bath, I felt incredibly refreshed. I have naturally dry skin, but I felt unusually soft and smooth afterwards. The scent lingers enough to let me take the experience with me, but isn't overwhelming at all. It is delicate and lasts longer than the other scented body washes I have used. Once the water drained out of the tub, there weren't any rings. It doesn't stain your bathtub or body. It didn't even stain my platinum blonde hair.

Packaging

The Treasure of the Sea bath salt comes in a 24.6oz screw top jar. It is easy to dispense and comes with the cute little shell scoop to add to the ocean theme. The jar is gorgeous. It can be used for decoration if you don't mind someone reading "Kamasutra".
    • Easy to use / dispense
    • Travel friendly
    • Would make a nice gift

Personal comments

I love everything to do with the ocean and anything blue. This product made me thing of the famous "Birth of Venus" painting where Venus is standing on the seashell right after she has been born from the ocean. Each time I use this in my bath, that's exactly how I feel. I also have the Ocean Blu bathing gel that Kamasutra makes. It has the same wonderful scent and is even more moisturizing than the bath salt. I just wish they made it in a lotion!
Follow-up commentary
Any time I want a relaxing bath, I grab this stuff. I got the Shunga Bath Crystals, but they don't compare to this and made me appreciate this even more. I can't even begin to explain how much I enjoy the scent and I can't get enough of it. I'm really glad the body was KamaSutra makes is the same scent, as well. I wish this came in a bigger container.

  • KamaSutra's Treasure of the Sea ingredients?
    • I was looking at the Treasure of the Sea today and I can't find the ingredients on the product page. The whole page is just blank. I tried looking the ingredients up on Kama Sutra's page but I didn't find them there either. Can someone tell me the ingredients if you have this? I mainly just want to know if there is glycerin in this. I was going to buy the similar Shunga bath salts but those have glycerin so I can't use those. Thanks for any help you can give me!

I don't have them personally and couldn't find the ingredients listed on any online retailer but I did find an online blog review of them that lists ingredients - whether or not you choose to trust this blogger to have included everything is your call, but it looks like what the formulation would probably be to me.
