Time Saver Perfection

Unless you're explicitly buying this for travel, this is a perfect product. It does exactly what it should, and gives dirty, oily hair a clean, fresh look when you just don't have the time to wet shampoo. The packaging could use some revamping, but that's the only downside.

Use

I've been using this product for months whenever I'm either too lazy or too busy to wash my hair the way I should. It works great on my brown hair, turning unwashed, oily hair into full, clean looking locks. I tend to wash my hair every three days, and the hair powder makes my third day hair look freshly washed.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

It has a powdery texture in your hand, but the second I put it in my hair it just absorbs the oil and doesn't have any other physical presence. I would suggest either putting a towel around your shoulders or not wearing a shirt at all when putting it on though, since the powder definitely shows up on cloth. It blends completely unnoticed into my skin, but I realized my mistake immediately when I tried using it with a white shirt already on.

Taste / Aroma

Satin sugar has a clean, light smell that isn't overpowering or super noticeable. It never conflicted with my perfume.

Performance

I've been using this about once or twice a week for a few months and I still haven't run out. I do have short hair, so I only really use it at the roots, but this is still a really long time for such a small container to last. I don't really notice it when I wash it out, and I've never had a problem with it staining anything once it's in my hair. I don't really use it as a skin powder like it can be, but the few times I have, it's worked exactly as it says it will. It's a light powder that blends in well with my skin and doesn't stain or wipe off.

Packaging

The product packaging is its one major downfall - it was hard to open initially, and I ended up spilling powder on myself because the top was so hard to get off. The twist lid has one side with small holes and another larger opening, but the "closed" setting still allows powder to come out. Shaking it when it's technically closed actually allows the perfect amount of product out for me. Unfortunately, that makes this a really messy product that does not travel well. It sits on my bathroom counter and stays upright, or else it causes a huge mess.

Follow-up commentary
Still love this and use it regularly. I'll definitely be replacing it when I run out, but I doubt that will happen anytime soon considering how long it's lasted.

Sounds like it would be perfect for me! I only wash my hair about twice a week so this would make the day before wash day look a looooot better!

      This powder really dissolves once applied to the skin. I have really fair skin and I got the darker hue (I have dark hair) and it didn't tint my skin at all like a bronzer would. So, no, I don't think this could work like a bronzer. Sorry!
    • Why would you want to use this and not a bronzer--less expensive and more effective!
