torn between if this is worth the price, or just over hyped marketing.

I would have to give this 3 stars. It is ok to pull out and use every once in a while when you need a change. It does not burn, which is always a good thing. If I were to choose between a regular bottle of ID and a bottle of ID Pleasure, I would go with the regular lube. If you are looking for a lube to "heighten sensations", this is one of the better ones.

Use

ID pleasure is used to heighten sensation during sexual activity. This is done with the ingredient L-ARGININE. This lube works well for both vaginal and anal sex, as well as masturbation. It is water based and can be used with silicone toys. It will not work well in the shower, tub, or hot tub. This is the only downfall to using water based lubes. Others will disagree with me, saying that they also do not last as long as silicone lubes. While this is true, I find that water based lubes feel more like her natural lubrication then silicone lubes.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

ID pleasure is thick enough for anal. If you where to put a drop on your hand and then turn your hand upside down. It would take about 20 seconds for the lube to drop off your hand. So it is not the thickest lube on the market, if you are looking for the thickest.

ID pleasure has a nice silky feeling to it. Like most water based lubes, it will get sticky as the water is absorbed or evaporated.

Taste / Aroma

This lube smells like most. A light chemical smell. Not overpowering, but you can notice it if you are looking for it. I would not taste this lube because of the L-ARGININE. But seeing how it is not a flavored lube, I do not really see any reason why someone would be tasting it.

Performance

This lube preformed well. I did not really care too much for the pleasure part. Not that it was overpowering, but more because it had a weird feeling that you would not feel until the lube had been on you for a good 5 minutes. It was not unpleasant, just something I was not used to.

The lube washed off easy, like most water based lubes. Some warm water on a towel and you were feeling clean again. None of our lubes have ever left a stain on the sheets or towels.

ID lube is pretty long lasting. We can go for a whole session without having to reapply. The only time we have to reapply is if we are using sex toys. And that is only because I will use toys on her for an hour or so. Most lubes cant last an hour. But for sex, one application will work.

If you dont wash this lube off and let it dry on you, it will leave you feeling slightly sticky. Nothing will stick to you, but you can defiantly feel the lube residue on your skin.

Packaging

I have the 17.6 ounce bottle. It comes with a pump top that you can lock closed to minimize spills.

Experience

This is one of the only "pleasure" lubes that I will use. I think it is because it is not overpowering. We have had this 18 bottle for around 3 years, and it is only 1/2 gone. So we dont use it very often. It was one of those "oh, lets try this" kind of moments when we purchased it.
Follow-up commentary
This is one of those lubes that if you were to go back you might not have purchased it. We have not reached for it, for months. It is not something that we both find pleasurable to use. It will most likely get thrown out when we do our next cleaning.
