Troubles Melt Like Lemon Drops

I'm really happy I got this lip balm, even if it is a little hard to fit in my pocket and a little hard to apply. The ingredients make up for any inconvenience, I love the locking container, and I love the delicious flavors and scents this one comes in.

Use

This organic lip balm is for the purpose of soothing dry, chapped lips though it's not very good for helping lips that are already pretty far gone and protecting them from the elements. It's much better at preventing them from getting dry in the first place than actually fixing them once dry.
I purchased the lemon one because it has the added bonus of being SPF 15 with Octinoxate and Oxybenzone as sunscreens. It's UVA and UBB resistant. This makes this particular balm really good for spending time outdoors, which I tested out when I took the balm on a weekend camping trip.

This product is good for anyone of any gender who has a mouth, and there is a flavor for everyone's tastes. It should especially appeal for people concerned about buying organic and buying products with good ingredients.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

This lip balm is a little harder than other balms I've used in the past, and it goes on less smoothly. The downside is that it takes longer to get a good coating on and it doesn't soak into dry, cracked lips easily. The upside is that it stays on really well once on, and protects happier mouths from getting so bad in the first place. Dryness can't fight through a waxy coating like this one! If I had especially dry lips, I would probably put on a more moisturizing one first and then put this one over it to seal it.

I also felt that I had to reapply it pretty often simply because I was so not used to the dryer texture. Then again, part of it was probably also the fact that it smells and tastes so good.

The balm doesn't feel sticky or greasy, but feels instead a lot like a lipstick.

Taste / Aroma

The taste and smell of the lemon balm isn't overly strong. It's very nice. It's basically like not-too-sweet lemonade. Once on my lips, it tastes about the same, but it's very light and no one has commented on being able to smell lemon on me when I wear it.
Some lip balms have a real artificial smell or flavor, and I was really glad that this one didn't. It smells and tastes very natural!

Performance

This lip balm definitely works better in warm weather since it softens up a little. When I took it with me on a cold camping trip, it was a little hard to apply and I often felt like I didn't have enough on, so would reapply it constantly. Back home with warm weather, I don't need to reapply it often and the product is softer. It works better for chapped lips when it's softer and is more of a protecting layer to prevent it when not.

If you don't lick it away and you are careful to apply a decent amount, it does last quite a while. I've gone hours without reapplying it.
    • Reapply often

Packaging

The lip balm is originally wrapped in plastic which you peel off. The actual container is basically why I bought this balm. It's completely different than most lip balms I've ever used. Instead of a tube that you twist at the bottom, it's a smooth plastic ball that you open by putting your thumb in the depression and twisting, revealing a ball of balm in the center. To close, you twist the lid back on and it clicks shut. This makes it so much less likely to fall apart in someone's bag or pocket. Small plastic caps always seem to fall off tube balms. You can't open it with one hand easily, but it's worth it to prevent the mess.

The different flavors' containers come in colors to match their flavor and have "eos" engraved in the top. Since mine is lemon flavored, my lip balm came in a sunny yellow container. It's so cute! It reminds me of a little Easter egg. People always ask me about it when I use it.

    • Discreet looking packaging
    • Easy to use / dispense
    • Minimal

Special Features

The lip balm adds no color to the lips, but does add a very light sheen.

Follow-up commentary
The balm is just about gone after two months of use and I fully plan on buying more when it's completely gone. It's great stuff and it feels weird to use regular stick balm now after using the wide surface of this balm. I much prefer this shape and it's probably my favorite now.
