Vanilla Yumminess - I'm a Cake Convert!

I'm a Philosophy girl for body products, but I'd had my eye on Cake for a while. When Eden started carrying it, I just had to finally give it a try. This kit is perfect for holiday gift giving to others or to try out Cake products for yourself. I cannot think of a negative thing to say about any of the three products included in the kit. After this, I will be scooping up a lot more Cake products!

Use

Cake's Vanilla Snow Woman Glistening Trio is a lovely set that includes a body wash, lotion, and lip gloss. They are all scented in a wonderful holiday vanilla smell. This would make a great gift either for a loved one or yourself! Cake products are high quality and on par with my usual luxury brand of body products. This set even includes a bit of holiday shimmer in all of the products to make sure you are party ready.

You should check the ingredient list for any potential allergic reactions. There are some potentially not so friendly ingredients on the list, so super sensitive users may want to keep look out for any they may have a reaction to. I'm very sensitive myself and had no issues, but was careful to keep this away from more sensitive areas.

This is a great holiday set, but works well even once the holidays have come and gone. It's limited edition, so if you like it, stock up!

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

There are three products here, so I'll go through each individually.

Vanilla Snow Woman Glistening Body Mousse

Body Mousse is Cake's fancy way of saying lotion. Mousse to me implies a whipped quality that this product does not have. It is a lovely texture. It's not as thick as a hand lotion or some very thick body lotions. I hate overly thick lotions, so I loved the feel of this one. It's light weight while still being moisturizing. It doesn't leave a sticky after feeling. After you rub it in, your body just feels soft. There isn't really a greasy feel to it either. You can feel that you have lotion on, but it isn't nasty like many lotions can be. It is thick enough that it's a little difficult to get out of the bottle since it's not a pump bottle but rather a squeeze bottle.

There is a shimmer in the lotion. It's not overly noticeable where those that don't like glitter products should shy away from this product. It has small glitter flecks in it. Most of these accumulate on the hands, as happens with every glitter lotion I've ever purchased. A few random sparkles will distribute along the body, but I doubt anyone would notice them unless they were looking for it. This is on my hand, were the most will be. It will be much less than this on the body.

Vanilla Snow Woman Glistening Body Wash

This body wash is about the same consistency as a regular gel body wash. It's thick enough not to run around on your hand when you place it there, which is always a plus. It's not so thick that it's a cream body wash. I don't like cream body washes as I never feel clean with them. This one is much easier to get out of the squeeze bottle container. Once foamed up and applied, it feels amazing. It has a slight moisturizing quality to it, but not as much as what you would get from a cream body wash. It is on par with my Philosophy body washes. That's a huge compliment from me. It does not leave any film after rinsed off.

There is a glitter to this as well, which you can see when it's in a blob like that. However, when I wash with this I can see no glitter. I don't come out of the shower sparkly. I can't find a single shimmer once I've washed with this. The glitter-phobic among you should be happy with this. I love all things that sparkle, but I usually don't care for my body wash to leave me glittery, so I'm not all that concerned with this not shimmering.

Pink Icicle Lip Gloss

If I had to pick a favorite out of this kit (which I'd hate to have to do!), I think this would be it. I'm very particular with lip glosses. I hate anything that's tacky or sticky on my lips. This glides on beautifully. It doesn't leave any type of sticky feel to it. It is a gloss, so you're bound to have a few random things stick to it, but my hair isn't constantly in it where I'm having to pull it out. It feels amazing on my lips. It has a little moisturizing property to it, but it's not a balm, so don't expect much in that regard. It doesn't leave a greasy film or over dry my lips once it wears off. I have a swatch of this, both for texture purposes and color purposes.

You can see in the swatch that this has the most sparkle of any of the products. It's visible on the lips when applied, but doesn't have a gritty feel that you can get with some glitter glosses. The glitter is small enough that it cannot be felt on the lips.

Taste / Aroma

All three of the products have a vanilla smell to them.

Lip Gloss

The lip gloss smells like vanilla when applied, but the scent doesn't linger long with that product. It tastes yummy. A little like vanilla, but not overly so. I'm not sure what the other flavor in it is, but I know it tastes much better that most glosses do when I lick my lips.

Body Wash

The body wash has a very strong vanilla scent to it. When I use this, my whole bathroom smells like a bakery. It lasts through the shower, even once I am done using this product and move on to others. It is strong enough for me to smell it over some of my weaker perfumed body products, but not over my stronger perfumed body products. Once I'm done using all of my products, this product is the one I can smell over all the others. The scent doesn't last long on the body, however. Like most body gels, it pretty much lasts as long as the shower does.

Body Lotion

The body lotion is the longest lasting and strongest smelling of the three. When I use this, I can smell the vanilla scent in the room applied long after it is applied. I can smell the vanilla on my skin for hours after it is applied just as strong as it was when I first put it on. If you wear perfume, this will conflict with it. If you really love the scent, you can try Cake's Indulge perfume, which I assume would have a similar scent with its vanilla base. (I'll let you know when I get it!) I personally only wear perfume on special occassions, so I didn't have any issues smelling like warm vanilla from the lotion all day.

I did not taste the gel or lotion. Sorry! I wouldn't recommend that you taste them either. Lotions and gels are not meant to be ingested!

Performance

I'll break this down again by product.

Lip Gloss

The lip gloss is wonderful. It doesn't last forever, but I've yet to find a gloss that lasts. It's just the nature of lip gloss. It lasts about an hour or so. The color is light, so it fades fairly quickly. The shimmer lasts a bit longer than that. I can feel the shine on my lips and see it for longer than I can see the color. You can see the picture in the texture section for the color. It's pretty much an almost clear color with the slightest hint of pink to it. Again, I really love this gloss. I'm a gloss freak and I'll be buying more Cake gloss after this purchase. The only bad thing I can say is that it does need to be reapplied, but if you can find me a gloss that doesn't I'll be impressed. I've tried glosses from cheap to high end and none of them last all that long.

Body Lotion

Another amazing product. My skin felt so soft after I used this. I apply lotions at night because I'm not a fan of how lotion feels against clothes during the day. I woke up to baby soft skin after one use of this product. This is on par with my much beloved Philosophy lotion. In fact, I would venture to say a little better than that lotion. My Philosophy leaves a little greasy after feel and this one leaves a little less of one. You'll always get that lotion feel with a lotion, but this one seems to get into the skin a lot better. Instead of feeling like I have a lot of lotion on, I just feel like I have soft, moisturized skin. I would assume regular use of this product would make a huge difference, especially in the dry skin months of winter.

Body Lotion

Yet another great product. This lathers up really well, though on this one a little less so than my Philosophy. I had to use a bit more of this to get the same amount of lather. However, once I got the right amount of lather, it felt wonderful on my skin. I use my shower gels as a shave gel and this one worked just as well as my usual product for that. I didn't get a soapy film when I rinsed this off. Just clean, soft skin. Here you can see the amount of lather I get if I just use my hands.

If I use a bath poof, which I always do, the same amount of product yields a much better result.

I would recommend using the poofy with this. I don't think you'll get enough lather with your hands to use this effectively.

I really have nothing negative to say about ANY of these products for performance.

Packaging

The packaging on this is adorable! It's perfect for a holiday gift or just to have. The box it comes in says "Cake Snow Woman" on the front with a little cutesy snow man holding the gloss and pictures of the other two products. It's pink and white and super girly.

Each of the products then has it's own nice bottle. The bottles look very high quality and you can tell these are more than drug store brand products. Each of them says "Cake" on them with the product name on the front. The back has the ingredient list and some info on the product.

This is just the cutest packaging. It comes looking like you spent a decent amount of money on. It looks like you got it in a beauty store (which makes sense, as Cake does sell out of major beauty chains).

Special Features

Okay, so here we go with the ingredients. Normally I'd go through what they all are. There is a TON of them! Just can't do it this time, guys. I apologize. I don't even want to type them all up!!

Whew! So not the prettiest ingredient list in the world. I don't know what half that stuff is, which is never good. Cake advertises no parabens, which is nice, but there's a lot of other stuff I wish weren't in there. Just make sure you check for allergy or sensitivity issues.

Experience

I love, love, love this kit!! I wish the vanilla scent was a permanent fixture in the Cake lineup because I'm not sure I'd like the vanilla/orange or vanilla/coconut scents that are their mainstay products. I'm officially a Cake convert after this kit. I've since ordered a few more lip glosses and the plane travel kit to test the regular scents out. Hopefully enough people will like the plain vanilla that they'll make this a regular product.

If you need a great gift for the holidays or just want to try some new body products, pick this up!! It's adorable, girly, and a high quality product. I literally have not one negative thing to say about it.
