Waking up late with no time to shower? You can still smell good!

This is an excellent product to have around for the days you wake up late or just don't feel like showering. If you're anything like me, at least once a week you wake up late, and/or simply don't have time to bathe, this is an awesome remedy for greasy hair and oily day old skin.

Use

This product is prefect for the "girl on the go". It can be used on your hair to dry up excess oil at the roots, as well as on the skin. It has two ways to pour, a salt shaker set of 6 holes, as well as a much larger easy pour hole.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

Cake Satin Sugar is easy to pour, as well as easily used to shake out. It is a thick powder that does take a little effort to rub into skin. I found using it on hair was much easier, but that may be because my hair is naturally slightly greasy. It is the perfect consistency for its purpose, it is not too thick, but thick enough that it will sit well on your skin.

After being salt shaken onto skin:

When loosely rubbed in, you can still see little "crystals" of the powder:

When well rubbed in, you will not be able to see residue at all.

Taste / Aroma

When the top of the container is sniffed, even when the big hole is open, you can hardly smell anything, but after being rubbed into hair and skin, it smells like cookie dough. That is the closest smell I can think of, a freshly baked sugar cookie. It is not overbearingly strong, but when your nose is in a close proximity of the places you have rubbed it into, it can be easily smelled.
As for taste, after being rubbed into skin, there is none. If you lick a thick patch of freshly poured powder, that has not rubbed in, it tastes terribly like flour. I do not recommend trying that.
    • Light smell
    • No taste
    • Smells good

Performance

I thought this worked excellently. I didn't shower this morning, but I did apply to my entire body as well as my hair before brushing. When ever I touch my skin, I can feel that it is dangerously smooth. It doesn't sparkle or anything like that, which I dig because I don't like to sparkle on the daily. Also, when my hands or arms come close to my face I get a good whiff of the sugar cookie smell I mentioned before. I have had it on for 6 hours, and can still clearly smell it.
    • Absorbs into skin nicely
    • Feels natural
    • Long lasting

Packaging

The packaging is minimal, it doesn't even come in a Cake box. Just the container inside your UPS/USPS box from Eden. I would like to note here, that it is hard to initially get open. I have acrylic nails on and I thought that was the problem, but after my fellow tried to no avail, I took a knife and used that to get the hole mostly open.

See?:

Once you get it initially opened, the swivel lid can be easily slid from open pour, open shake, or closed. When tipped upside down it does leak a little, so you probably should NOT carry this in your purse, but rather leave it on a shelf when it is unlikely to get bumped.
    • Easy to use / dispense
    • Minimal
    • Would make a nice gift

Special Features

I would like to note in this section, that the back of the container states that is is talc-free and is "infused with calendula and chamomile to smooth and soften". After using, I believe it.

Follow-up commentary
After having a chance to use it regularly, I still think this is a remarkable product. When I was younger I used baby powder in my hair when I went a day or two without washing. This hair and body powder by Cake takes it a step or two further. This powder does excellently drying up oil at the roots of hair as well as the oil on your skin.
I am one of those bad girls who waits tables and often runs late for work. I cannot tell you how handy this is to have in those occasions. A little in your hair and on your skin rubbed in, a quick brush of the hair and you smell good and don't look greasy. I rave for this product.
